Senator Richard Burr Ranked 9th Most Conservative

National Journal has ranked Richard Burr the 9th most conservative senator in 2009. He upped his ranking from 12th in 2008.

I must say I am quite surprised. After having to badger his office over the amnesty for illegals bill, I thought for sure this McCain acolyte would have ranked further down the scale. I must say I am pleasantly surprised. It just goes to show that you are judged by the company you keep; unjustly.

The following senators ranked higher than Senator Burr:

1) Inhofe -- Oklahoma

2) Demint -- South Carolina

3) Bunning -- Kentucky

4) Coburn -- Oklahoma

5) Risch -- Idaho

6) Thune -- South Dakota

7) Ensign -- Nevada

8) McConnell -- Kentucky

Congratulations to Oklahoma and Kentucky for having both senators ranked in the top 10.

Senator Lindsay Graham ranked 26th, just behind his mentor John McCain who ranked 21st.

Senator Kay Hagan of North Carolina ranked 55th in conservative rankings, while listed at 42nd on the most liberal. I guess it's kind of hard to outrank all of the nut jobs in her party.

Again congratulations to Senator Burr, hopefully you'll rank higher next year.
