Obama Administration is Carteresque

The Obama administration is becoming reminiscent of the Carter era. The only thing missing is green shag carpet, bell bottoms, and disco music.

Obama’s insistence on a green economy is the same old retread of Jimmy Carter’s policies. Solar panels and wind mills are not going to meet the energy demands of the American people. Obama is willing to punish the citizens of this country with onerous taxes on carbon consumption. He like Carter believes it is the American people who are at fault for the world’s ills, and that we need to tighten our belts and suck it up.

Vice President Joe Biden announced the other day that the 8 million jobs that were lost during “the great recession,” will never come back. The only thing missing was the word “malaise.” I wonder when they're going to reestablish the misery index. Even Obama’s secretary of the treasury publicly stated on the BBC that “the world cannot depend on the U.S. as it has in the past.”

With the feeling that “America’s best days are behind us,” Iran’s Mullahs see the same yellow streak running down Obama’s back as they did Carter’s. They are trying to complete their nuclear program as fast as they can. They're also stepping up measures to antagonize Israel by running the blockade to Gaza. And isn’t it ironic that Afghanistan is becoming a thorn in Obama’s side as it did with Carter?

Obama’s policies are Carteresque. We already have double-digit unemployment; inflation and interest rates are soon to follow. And with the constant assault upon energy companies, we could have gas shortages as well.

The 70’s did have some great moments such as the music that was produced. But we don’t even have that saving grace today. So if you want to reminisce, I suggest you dust off the lava lamp, pull out a vinyl record and relax in your bean bag chair; because you're going nowhere in the Obama economy.
