South Carolina Picks Up Congressional Seat

South Carolina is to pick up a congressional seat. That will make seven for the palmetto state. The population grew by 4.6 million residents at a rate of 15.3 percent since the last census. The following counties have seen the most growth:

But Republicans already have an eye on population estimates that show South Carolina's growth has been heaviest in four counties: York, just south of Charlotte, N.C.; and Horry, Beaufort and Charleston along the coast, according to Wesley Donehue, political director for the state Senate GOP caucus.

Notice that York County is the beneficiary of a population explosion. Could it possibly be due to the high taxes of Mecklenburg County and North Carolina in general? Just making an observation. Whatever the reason, it was enough to change the demographics and rid the 5th district of Rep. John Spratt who had become a fixture on the Potomac. Maybe if he had done his job and passed a budget, he would still be in office. But, then again his voting record was pathetically “San Francisco”.

The additional seat should become republican, with of course the consent of the Justice Department. South Carolina can’t have self-determination because it’s deemed a racist state and supposedly will violate the voting rights of black people:

The U.S. Justice Department will have to approve the state's reapportionment and Republicans said they predict the department will push for a second district that, like Clyburn's, has a majority of African-Americans.

Of course no one can act these days without the federal government breathing down our necks. Chances are they will draw a district that is a bastardization like North Carolina’s 12th District held by neo-Marxist Mel Watt.

Mr. Watt used to be my representative, until they gerrymandered him out of my area.

I’m sure the Democrats will find a way to ensure that Rep. James Clyburn is not the only jackass from South Carolina. They are pretty good at braying until they get their way.

It is true, the 12th Congressional District was illegally drawn specifically so that Mel Watt -- a puppet of the local banks -- could win and continue to win until they are done with him! They even fixed it so that the NC Supreme Court would reluctantly approve the illegal gerrymandering.
