The green agenda is dependent upon government subsidies and without it, they go bankrupt. Two republican congressmen smelled something fishy about the loan to Solyndra:
Republicans have been looking into the Solyndra loan for months. The House Energy and Commerce Committee subpoenaed documents relating to the loan from the White House Office of Management and Budget. GOP Reps. Fred Upton of Michigan and Cliff Stearns of Florida issued a joint statement on Wednesday saying it was clear that Solyndra was a dubious investment.
"We smelled a rat from the onset," the two lawmakers said.
The Institute for Energy Research pulls no punches on how dependent green energy is on taxpayer largess:
Solar panel manufacturing may be profitable for some countries where skilled labor can be found cheaply, especially as long as governments direct consumers to purchase electricity from such sources, regardless of economics. But, in the United States, solar manufacturing plants are closing and the “green jobs” associated with them are evaporating. One may wonder why, but the economics are clear. Without massive subsidies, these industries cannot survive, and without policies that force these products to be purchased, they can’t survive. European countries (e.g. Spain and Germany) are examples where legislative and regulatory policies required solar energy to be purchased at rates far above the going retail rate.[ix] These countries found that they had to slash subsidies because of high rates and little power production due to low capacity factors of solar plants.
With such European experiences, and with companies closing down solar manufacturing plants and laying off workers, why must our government continue to push for these expensive technologies[x] that cannot survive in the market place on their own?
And that is a good question. Maybe Obama can answer that for us during his joint address to Congress.
Their primary targets are a pair of crucial United Nations initiatives designed to slow warming worldwide and educate policymakers about the evolving science of climate change.
On the chopping block for 2012 are millions in funding for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the world's leading scientific advisory body on global warming. The IPCC shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Vice President Al Gore in 2007, and governments often use its periodic reviews of climate risks to set targets for reducing carbon emissions.
The GOP-led effort would also cut all U.S. funding for the 19-year-old U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the main forum for the global effort to limit emissions of heat-trapping gases. UNFCCC climate treaty talks are mired in longstanding rich-poor rifts and mistrust of the United States for its refusal to ratify the 1997 Kyoto Protocol and accept binding emissions limits
Now that CERN has proven (and not by consensus) that the earth’s temperature is caused by the sun, the frauds and con-artist at the United Nations will have to find a new vehicle with which to plunder the American taxpayers.
Al Gore and his fellow global warming nut-jobbers are about to have their heads explode. That nemesis of theories has just been proven to be a scientific fact; not consensus: the sun is responsible for the earth’s temperature:
In this chamber, 63 CERN scientists from 17 European and American institutes have done what global warming doomsayers said could never be done — demonstrate that cosmic rays promote the formation of molecules that in Earth’s atmosphere can grow and seed clouds, the cloudier and thus cooler it will be. Because the sun’s magnetic field controls how many cosmic rays reach Earth’s atmosphere (the stronger the sun’s magnetic field, the more it shields Earth from incoming cosmic rays from space), the sun determines the temperature on Earth.
The hypothesis that cosmic rays and the sun hold the key to the global warming debate has been Enemy No. 1 to the global warming establishment ever since it was first proposed by two scientists from the Danish Space Research Institute, at a 1996 scientific conference in the U.K. Within one day, the chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Bert Bolin, denounced the theory, saying, “I find the move from this pair scientifically extremely naive and irresponsible.” He then set about discrediting the theory, any journalist that gave the theory credence and most of all the Danes presenting the theory — they soon found themselves vilified, marginalized and starved of funding, despite their impeccable scientific credentials.
You can bet that all the political hacks that call themselves scientist will be on the warpath. The funding for their crackpot theories is about to be defunded. I can hear it now: CERN scientist is on big oil’s and big coal’s dole. Defamation of character is the only proven tool that these consensus builders have left.

(CNSNews.com) - U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis today signed "partnership" agreements with ambassadors from a group of Latin American nations aiming to protect what she described as the labor rights of both legal and illegal migrants working in the United States.
During the signing ceremony hosted at Labor Department headquarters in Washington D.C., Solis said the agreements are aimed at educating migrant workers, regardless of how they got here, about their rights under U.S. law and to help prevent them from being abused in the workplace, either through wages, loss of job, or deportation.
When asked by CNSNews.com, she made clear the agreements aim at protecting both documented and undocumented workers inside the United States.
Notice the operative words used: “partnership agreements”. Again, the English language is being abused by the progressives. Now let’s take a look at the word "treaty" under the American Heritage Dictionary:
Treaty: a formal agreement between two or more states containing terms of trade, peace, alliance, or the like; a pact
Is not a partnership agreement the same as a treaty between two or more states?
Now let’s take a look at the U.S. Constitution, Article II Section II:
He shall have the power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two-thirds of the senators present concur…
I don’t believe the Senate approved these treaties. We have just witnessed a coup by the Obama bureaucratic machine.

“I don’t see Islam as our enemy,” Paul said. “I see that motivation is occupation and those who hate us and would like to kill us, they are motivated by our invasion of their land, the support of their dictators that they hate.”
To substantiate his argument, he quoted a study by an Islamic apologist:
Paul cited a University of Chicago professor, Robert Pape, whose research argues that most of the suicide terrorism in the past 30 years was caused by military occupation. Pape’s research, funded by the Defense Department, shows that suicide bombings in Afghanistan went up one third after the Obama administration surged 30,000 troops into the country.
“(9/11) was one of the main motivations for getting your attention on why they hate us and want to kill us,” he said. “You could send 20 million people over there and all it would do is make our problems worse.”
I don’t know if Ron Paul is aware of the history Robert Pape has with Muslims, and particularly CAIR, who was an indicted co-conspirator for terrorism. But the book the congressman cites was revealed to be a propaganda tool to blunt the bad perception Americans have of Islam:
Emails reviewed by the Investigative Project on Terrorism show Pape reached out to CAIR this past summer, hoping to have the Hamas-front group buy 1,000 advanced copies of his new book. Pape asserted in his emails and other communications to CAIR that the book would advance and reinforce CAIR's ideological views that it is the occupation of Arab lands that causes suicide bombings. CAIR's officials responded with enthusiasm to Pape's thesis and to his proposal for bulk purchases to artificially boost his rankings into the best seller lists.
"Pre-orders are especially helpful," Pape wrote on his University of Chicago email account, "because they allow the press to increase the advertising for the book when it is published, and so help to build momentum for the message in the book -- that ending Western occupation of Muslim countries is the best path for reducing the spread of suicide terrorism."
Pape did not respond to an email seeking comment. CAIR's national banquet is scheduled for Saturday evening outside Washington, D.C. In a release, CAIR says Pape will be on hand promoting his book. The release says Pape will participate in a workshop on "Challenging Islamophobia" and quotes CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad:
"This groundbreaking new book offers a powerful educational tool to be used in challenging Islamophobia that is based on the false linkage between Islam and suicide terrorism."
Ron Paul is becoming an embarrassment. If he is this easily duped by a Chicago professor and his Muslim confederates, than he’s not qualified to be president of the United States.
Obama’s justice department won a minor victory today. A federal judge temporarily blocked an Alabama immigration law until September 29th or until the court makes a ruling. This is the second state law that the Obama thugs have tried to shut down. And one must wonder why.
Last week it was discovered that the Anointed One has another illegal alien family member residing in the country. Uncle Onyango was busted for DUI and reckless driving on Wednesday:
A number of media outlets have already reported that an illegal immigrant from Kenya by the name of Onyango Obama, 67, was arrested last week on Wednesday after he nearly rammed his SUV into a police car in Framingham, Massachusetts.
He was later charged with DUI among other violations. I spoke to Framingham Public Information Officer Lieutenant Delaney who told me that when Onyango Obama was asked at booking if he wanted to make a telephone call to arrange for bail, the Kenyan immigrant replied: "I think I will call the White House."
It should be noted that the Times of London, highlighted an Onyango Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign, when the British daily found President Barack Obama's “Aunt Zeituni” living in Boston illegally.
A number of news outlets have reported on this story? Who in the hell are they? The only story reported on in these past few days is the little tropical storm that wanted to be a hurricane. They should have named this storm Eilene. Because it was just about as lame as the song:

Crazy Pete’s Discount Galleria is slashing … I say a slashing prices on all things green. Inventory must go! Instead of discounted prices, you might see going out of business banners on the store front windows if this product doesn’t move.
For those of you looking for a special deal, ask for a federal government tax break or subsidy. It’s the only way to keep the green agenda and my business alive.
Tea Party terrorist cells are popping up all over the place. One was just exposed on Staten Island! And it’s Jewish! Is this some sort of Israeli conspiracy to take over the world?
I’d better dust off my copy of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion to see what those evil Jews have in store for us.
Al Gore is absolutely shameless. So, anyone who disagrees with him on globing warming is the equivalent of a Bull Connor, who by the way was a Democrat.
This is a blatant attempt to shut people up who disagree with their religion. We see it happening all the time. Whenever “whitey” says anything that questions the policies or actions of Barack Obama, the NAACP calls that person a racist; it was once a powerful tool. Now the advocates of climate change (formerly known as global warming) are trying to use the same tactic.
That kind of cynicism may have worked a couple of years ago. Not anymore.
What is the end game for the American political class? Have you noticed that these parasites always point to the European model as the nirvana of governance and well being?
The political class hijacked the European Union through that vehicle known as the Lisbon Treaty, a top down constitution that has superseded the sovereignty of nation states, and imposes the bureaucratic will over the populace. Pretensions of citizenship are just that: pretensions.
Is it any wonder that Barack Obama and his statist minions salivate when looking across the pond? They have a lot in common with their European cousins. Hardly any of them have had a job outside of politics or government. They have become a law unto themselves, and are imposing their will upon the rest of us via executive fiat and the bureaucratic machine.
The road to serfdom is littered with the napkins of salivating, power hungry politicians and bureaucrats, who never let a crisis go to waste. It will take a vigilant and active citizenry to beat this pack of wolves back before they devour our liberties.

Here it is! We found it! We found the terrorist cell that is threatening the progressive agenda in the United States of America. And it was hiding right under the noses of the entire socialist movement in the federal government.
My God! The biggest threat to America’s national security is in all places: Waco, Texas!
How fragile is Obama’s aspirations for a second term? According to Charlie Cook, a placebo could beat the Obama plague.
We’d better get everyone in line for a vaccination. The future prosperity of our nation is in need of a shot in the arm.
RALEIGH – President Obama is reportedly about to recommend yet another round of government stimulus and “job creation” gimmicks. He means well, I suppose, but seems hopelessly lost in the fantasies of John Maynard Keynes and other crackpot economists.

Buffett and Bank of America said he made an unsolicited call to the bank on Wednesday morning offering to make an investment. Buffett told CNBC the idea came to him while taking a bath and the deal was done in 24 hours.
The deal entails Buffett's insurance company, Berkshire Hathaway Inc buying $5 billion of preferred shares and receiving warrants to buy 700 million shares. The warrants helped lift Berkshire Hathaway's paper profits on the deal to more than $3 billion, although the transaction has not yet closed.
And to stay in the good graces of a thug administration, Buffett is throwing a fundraiser for the Anointed One:
Billed as an "Economic Forum Dinner with Warren Buffett," the fundraiser will be held at the Four Seasons restaurant in New York and moderated by former Obama economic adviser Austan Goolsbee, according to a schedule obtained by Politico.
The event will bring in a pretty penny for the campaign. The base price is $10,000, while a $35,800 donation will buy a VIP reception with Buffett, according to the schedule.
The Democratic National Committee confirmed the fundraiser was happening, but was silent on the details.
Last week, Buffett made clear -- in a very high-profile way -- that he supports one of Obama's key policy goals: Higher taxes on the rich.
"My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress. It's time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice," the Berkshire (BRKA, Fortune 500) founder wrote in a New York Times opinion piece.
Coddled billionaires know where to invest their money; and I don’t see Warren Buffett throwing the federal government a bone. I guess his secretary will have to pick up the slack.
Judicial Watch reports the following:
The economy remains in shambles yet President Obama keeps wasting taxpayer dollars expanding an already bloated U.S. government, this month launching a new office to help build a “diverse and inclusive workforce” at all federal agencies.
The new Office of Diversity and Inclusion will ensure that the entire U.S. government develops comprehensive strategies to drive and integrate diversity and inclusion practices. It will assist the different agencies in building a workforce that “respects individual and organizational cultures” by examining policy options, data trends and employee survey findings.
The goal is to eliminate demographic group imbalances in targeted occupations and improve workforce diversity. To attain this, special initiatives have been created targeting specific groups, including Hispanics, African Americans, American Indians, women and gays and lesbians. The idea is to create a workforce that truly reflects America’s diversity, according to the Obama Administration.
In fact, the Obama executive order creating the new agency assures that it will promote the federal workplace as a model of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. It will also establish a coordinated government-wide initiative to promote the cause. The investment is worth it because a commitment to equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion is critical for the federal government as an employer, according to the commander-in-chief.
The president’s new plan will force agencies to identify and remove barriers to equal employment opportunities that may exist in the federal government’s recruitment, hiring, promotion, retention, professional development and training policies and practices.
Is there any office space left in D.C.?
In a trend that continues to worsen, more Illinoisans found themselves unemployed in the month of July.
Data released today by the bureau confirms this downward trajectory. When it comes to putting people back to work, Illinois is going backwards. Since January, Illinois has dropped 89,000 people from its employment rolls.
After this national nightmare, I’m willing to make a proposition. I propose a constitutional amendment that no one from the state of Illinois can ever become president of the United States ever again.

Last year Fox News reported that North Carolina public schools were going to discontinue the history curriculum that pertains to our founding era; instead they were going to focus on the period after reconstruction, best known as the Progressive Era. The result was a resounding national backlash.
Because of that backlash, North Carolina passed into law the Founding Principles Act, as reported by Carolina Journal:
A bipartisan General Assembly approved House Bill 588, The Founding Principles Act, during the closing days of the main 2011 legislative session. As lawmakers engaged in partisan battles over more controversial measures, the House approved H.B. 588 106-5, and the Senate endorsed it 43-0. Gov. Beverly Perdue signed it into law June 23.
“The survival of the republic requires that our nation’s children, the future guardians of its heritage and participants in its governance, have a clear understanding of the Founding Philosophy and the Founding Principles of government for a free people,” according to the act’s preamble. The new law goes on to note that students will find the philosophy and principles “in the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, the Federalist Papers, and the writings of the Founders.”
The law specifically orders a semester-long course titled American History I - The Founding Principles. Students must pass the course to graduate from high school.
Ten specific principles earn special attention within the legislation: Creator-endowed inalienable rights of the people; the structure of government, separation of powers with checks and balances; frequent and free elections in a representative government; rule of law; equal justice under the law; private property rights; federalism; due process; individual rights as set forth in the Bill of Rights; and individual responsibility.
What I really wish is that the Anti-Federalist Papers would also be discussed, along with North Carolina’s Constitutional Convention debate. Students would be amazed at how right the Anti-Federalist was. But that is a pipe dream. Hell, if it weren’t for Fox News, students would think Woodrow Wilson was the first president of the United States.
If there is one thing I despise, it’s an immigrant who comes to the United States – either legally or illegally – that is hell bent on changing our county into the third world hell hole from whence they came. Fareed Zakaria is such a person.
Zakaria is an expatriate from India. He came to the United States legally and made a concerted effort to become a citizen. You’d have thought that this man would be more appreciative of his newly adopted country. But you’d be mistaken. He wants us to adopt a parliamentary form of government, because ours is inefficient. Now mind you India has a parliament. So what in the hell is wrong with this guy.
In the above video, Zakaria list a number of countries with parliamentary forms of government with AAA credit ratings. Of the thirteen listed, seven are constitutional monarchies. What the CNN host doesn’t exhibit in his harangue is those countries with the exact same form of government who don’t have AAA credit ratings. Can anyone say Greece or India?
The ingrate’s argument is that parliaments are more adept at addressing the exigencies of national import through a streamlined central power. But of course that kind of power in the hands of career politicians can be a disaster.
Zakaria wants the United States to become just like Europe. But the man from India is not being honest with his viewers; Europe has serious financial problems. The Federal Reserve bailed out numerous banks:
One aspect of the bailout sure to exasperate critics of the Federal Reserve is that almost half of the Fed’s top 30 borrowers were European firms.
The Royal Bank of Scotland took $84.5 billion, the most of any foreign borrower, while Swiss bank UBS got $77.2 billion and Germany’s Hypo Real Estate Holding received $28.7 billion in loans. Belgium’s biggest bank, Dexia, and France’s Societe Generale also took in loans.
Of course this is an inconvenient truth for the socialist at CNN. Utopia is not a parliament away.

“Data gleaned from 29,346 pages of documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act and from other Fed databases of more than 21,000 transactions make clear for the first time how deeply the world’s largest banks depended on the U.S. central bank to stave off cash shortfalls,” write Bloomberg News’s Bradley Keoun and Phil Kuntz.
The Federal Reserve didn’t just bailout our banks; they also bailed out over 30 foreign ones as well:
The Royal Bank of Scotland took $84.5 billion, the most of any foreign borrower, while Swiss bank UBS got $77.2 billion and Germany’s Hypo Real Estate Holding received $28.7 billion in loans. Belgium’s biggest bank, Dexia, and France’s Societe Generale also took in loans.
Of course, American firms also got in on the publicly funded loans.
The largest borrower was Morgan Stanley, which received as much as $107.3 billion, while Citigroup took $99.5 billion and Bank of America $91.4 billion. In comparison, TARP, a $700 billion bank bailout fund that was passed by Congress in late 2008, gave $45 billion each to Citigroup and Bank of America and only $10 billion to Morgan Stanley.
Of course the Federal Reserve claims that they didn’t lose any money:
The Federal Reserve claims that it has not lost money on these emergency loans and that, in fact, it has netted $13 billion in interest from these programs from August 2007 through December 2009.
My question is how are we to know that when they refuse to open their books?
Howard Dean, former Governor of Vermont and Chairman of the DNC, opines on President Obama's foreign policy: "It's been really good as Commander-in-Chief and that's not what the election is going to be fought on. It's going to be fought on the economy.
The Arab spring would be considered a success if you have a deep seeded hatred for Christians and Jews. Egypt has become a killing field for Coptic Christians, and swastika banners are cropping up in demonstrations. One banner read that the gas chambers (click on link below) are ready. Here is an Islamic scholar extolling the precepts of that religion of peace:
Islamic scholar Dr. Salah Sultan issued a religious decree according to which it is permissible to kill "any Israeli on Egyptian land, in response to the killing of Egyptian soldiers near the border with Israel," Egyptian Al-Shuruq newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Sultan is a lecturer of Muslim jurisprudence at the Cairo University. In the decree, he ruled that "every Muslim who meets a Zionist is entitled to kill him, after Israel killed 'Camp David'. The Egyptian people do not distinguish between Egyptian and Palestinian blood," he ruled. (Roee Nahmias
I believe Howard Dean is correct. You would have to go back to FDR to find a record like that.
Iraq is descending into chaos, thanks to the Iranians. The rebel victors in Libya are made up of an Al Qaeda element, and the proposition of Sharia legislation is going to be the guiding factor in a new constitution. Isn’t that swell?
The world is on fire and the Democrats think it’s a success.
Standard & Poor’s announced that a new president will be taking over its helm. Douglass Peterson of Citibank will replace Deven Sharma at the end of the year. The ratings agency came under heavy fire for downgrading U.S. bonds in early August. Now, rumors are circulating that the Justice Department is planning an investigation on the company’s mortgage backed securities practices:
The U.S. Justice Department is probing S&P and Moody’s over ratings of mortgage-backed securities, according to three former employees who said last week they were interviewed by investigators. The former employees asked for anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. The inquiry is a civil matter, two of them said.
The probe is the latest of dozens of government investigations and investor lawsuits targeting S&P and Moody’s over the top grades they assigned to bonds backed by subprime mortgages. The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission called them“key enablers of the financial meltdown.”
That was predictable. As a matter of fact I made that prediction the night that S & P made the downgrade. I feel smart all of sudden. What an odd feeling.
Peterson was CEO of Citigroup Japan for 5 years. He has spent his career working for that company. For those of you who were paying attention to all of the 2008 bailouts, Citigroup was one of the biggest offenders. They used shady accounting practices that blindsided investors and the FDIC. The following quote comes from the book Reckless Endangerment:
Citigroups investors were stunned when the flood of losses and bad assets from entities they were unaware of began backing up onto its books. So were officials at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation who had had no idea how many risky assets the bank had shifted, artfully, from its balance sheet. Had the FDIC known about these conduits, it would have required Citigroup to set aside more of a capital cushion for potential losses before they hit, its officials later said.
And guess who came to the rescue? That’s right the same names that are sharpening their knives over S&P in the federal government:
The most recent slide in Citigroup stock comes on the heels of news earlier this month that the Treasury Department was abandoning its initial rescue plan to buy troubled assets from banks - Citigroup had been seen as a major beneficiary of that strategy.
Instead, as part of the $700 billion bailout package that was signed into law in early October, Treasury has focused on making direct investments in banks. In exchange for equity stakes, the agency has injected $25 billion into Citigroup and an additional $100 billion into eight other major U.S. financial institutions.
Top regulators, including Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and Timothy Geithner, president of the New York Fed, were both involved in the weekend talks over Citigroup's fate. Geithner is expected to be nominated to be Treasury Secretary by President-elect Barack Obama
You can expect S&P to reverse that downgrade in the near future. That pesky little problem has been taken care of.

Maxine Waters just volunteered to send the tea partiers on a trip to hell. Dante had Virgil to guide him; we have the Queen of Mean.
The congresswoman packed her Satan Sandwiches for the long ride to that circle of hell she represents.
The patriots will be astonished at the woe and misery Liberals have in store for all of us. The lamentations of poverty will be deafening. The stench of festering wounds poked and prodded by the demons of Obamacare. Cerberus, the three-headed bureaucrat gorges on the wealth of Americans, while the Progressives laugh and point in their celebration of orgy and gluttony.
Woe to you of earth and sea…
Now, Libya has ousted their dictator – mind you, one who was not friendly to the United States – and they have proposed a “democratic” form of government with one caveat, as reported by the Heritage Foundation:
The dust has not yet settled over the Libyan capital of Tripoli since rebels took control over the weekend. But already, a draft constitutional charter for the transitional state has appeared online (embedded below). It is just a draft, mind you, and gauging its authenticity at this point is difficult. There is also no way to know whether this draft or something similar will emerge as the final governing document for a new Libyan regime.
As both the Morning Bell and Washington in a Flash noted today, Heritage Fellow Jim Phillips recently pointed out that Islamist forces “appear to make up a small but not insignificant part of the opposition coalition,” and must be prevented “from hijacking Libya’s future.” Parts of the draft Constitution allay those fears, while others exacerbate them.
Much of the document describes political institutions that will sound familiar to citizens of Western liberal democracies, including rule of law, freedom of speech and religious practice, and a multi-party electoral system.
But despite the Lockean tenor of much of the constitution, the inescapable clause lies right in Part 1, Article 1: “Islam is the Religion of the State, and the principal source of legislation is Islamic Jurisprudence (Sharia).” Under this constitution, in other words, Islam is law. That makes other phrases such as “there shall be no crime or penalty except by virtue of the law” and “Judges shall be independent, subject to no other authority but law and conscience” a bit more ominous
That’s right Sharia will be their principle source of legislation. Democracy doesn’t necessarily equate to liberty.
The editors at the Charlotte Observer praised the president for acting unilaterally on immigration reform. Mind you, the U.S. Constitution gives the authority to Congress, as outlined in Article One, Section 8. But that doesn’t matter to the totalitarians at the Disturber. The ends justify the means as long as it comports to their will. Here is the quote:
In May, this editorial board urged Obama champion this issue more forcefully, and to take the unilateral steps available to him if he could not get Congress to act. We're glad he has.
The editors at the Disturber have a history of championing the “plight” of illegal aliens. They couldn’t care less about the struggles of the citizens of North Carolinians. July’s numbers just came out. The Tar Heel state has a 10.1% unemployment rate. But that doesn’t matter to the “humanitarians” in our local paper. Illegals have just as much of right to a job as you do. Forget the fact that an illegal alien student is taking the seat of an American. Forget the fact that financial aid and services are being absorbed by a people that have no right to be here; instead of going to law abiding Americans.
The editors of the Charlotte Observer obviously don’t value their citizenship.

This video is precious. If you didn’t think environmentalist were nut jobs, than you haven’t met Sunny. Sunny celebrated Earth Day by strapping herself to a tree that wasn’t even slated to be taken down; but she feels good about it.
Her next devotional to Mother Earth is to stop using toilet paper. What in the hell is she going to use? All, I have to say is if you meet Sunny, avoid shaking hands; a little environmentalism might just rub off on you.

This is what we have come to expect from the federal judiciary. States no longer have self-determination. The 10th Amendment is merely a footnote in history. And now these super-legislators are making law in favor of interest groups who believe they’re entitled to taxpayer monies; forcing states into de facto contracts without their consent.
Kansas is the only state that has the balls to stand up to this abusive branch of government. This is a state issue and the federal government has no standing:
Kansans for Life legislative director Kathy Ostrowski commented on the Planned Parenthood request for funds while the lawsuit moves forward.
“The clock is ticking in this high-stakes matter because the federal HHS agency ordinarily requires all Title X family planning contracts to be finalized by Aug. 31,” she said. “The state health department’s response to a KFL request today was, “Our Aug. 1 statement remains in effect– there have been no determinations regarding Title X funding for Planned Parenthood, pending procedures on the appeal by the Attorney General’s Office.” Jeff Wagaman, spokesman for Attorney General Derek Schmidt, told KFL the next step is to appeal Marten’s new ruling to the circuit court.”
She said Planned Parenthood did not have a state contract with Kansas “to be restored by Marten, and a judge hasn’t the authority to create contracts between the state and private business.”
As a result, it appears Kansas is not complying because there are no taxpayer funds to restore. The state entered into new contracts with other agencies after the law was passed — there was no situation where a contact with Planned Parenthood was voided and a judge’s order would requrie the state to restore it.
In fact, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment has already shifted $204,000 in taxpayer funding previously meant for the abortion business to the Sedgwick County health department to expand its family planning services without doing abortions. The funds were sent to the health department three days after Planned Parenthood filed its lawsuit over a law pro-life Gov. Sam Brownback signed to revoke its taxpayer funding.
Planned Parenthood can apply for direct funds from the federal government, but instead wants the courts to negate state contracts in favor of them:
The state of Kansas responded to the lawsuit by arguing that the 10th Amendment allows it to determine tax funding. Planned Parenthood in Kansas has received federal funding via the family planning program the state administrators for 25 years.
“The proposed injunction would commandeer one of the State’s agencies, forcing the State to cancel past contracts and enter into new ones selected by the Court,” the state argued. “The proposed injunction would violate the State’s sovereignty and unconstitutionally replace the State’s discretion with the Court’s judgment.”
Kansas also maintains the decision is in line with the purpose of the Title X federal family planning fund and says the abortion business can apply for the funds directly from the federal government as it has in other states, but added that Planned Parenthood was not “entitled” to taxpayer funding from Kansas.
Meanwhile, the papers the state filed with the federal court where Planned Parenthood sued make it clear that Planned Parenthood has not given a sufficient reason for why it deserves the funding. They say Planned Parenthood “has made no showing, nor could it, that family planning services will not be provided.”
Grants issued by federal and state governments are not loans, but monies given to businesses and organizations to perform a specific task. And as you can expect, whenever there is “free money” to be had, there will be a cloud of vultures flying around looking for easy pickings.
So who is to ensure that these vultures are meeting their contractual obligations? Well, if you’re in North Carolina it’s the Office of State Budget and Management. But according to a Civitas Institute report, this agency is having a hard time holding these grantees accountable:
Funding for over 1,000 recipients of North Carolina state grants has been suspended, repeatedly in many cases, mainly for not filing required annual reports of how the money was spent, but many of them still received additional grants. By the time many of the grants were suspended, however, the funds had already been spent with no accounting for how the money was used.
What is even more disturbing is that these vultures know that the state of North Carolina can’t do anything about their non-compliance. By law, the federal government mandates that the states must pay these bandits:
About half of the 1,000 suspended grants were for child and adult nutrition programs administered by the state Division of Public Health. Most of those grant recipients had funding suspended over the course of three to four grants in consecutive years, but they continued to receive the grant funds anyway. Those recipients knew they wouldn’t lose their money even if they didn’t comply with reporting rules. The state couldn’t actually withhold those funds because of federal law. Those food programs were paid for with federal tax dollars that the Division of Public Health simply administered. Under federal law even if a grantee receiving federal funds doesn’t comply with state reporting rules the state still has to continue the funding.
And the entitlement class wins another round.
Rep. Charlie Rangel came down from his plantation and ran into a buzz saw. Laura Ingraham hosted the O’Reilly Factor and the shameless one was taken aback by the ‘pretty girl’s’ hard questions.
Democrats are notorious for asinine comments, but Rangel’s assertion that the Republican Party has no right to ridicule plantations is jaw dropping. Need we remind him of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War? Hello Charlie!
When asked real questions, politicians like Charlie Rangel have a hard time wriggling out of them. All I have to say is good job ‘pretty girl’.
People will do crazy things in a bad economy. Robberies aren’t uncommon, but the attire of this criminal is:
From The Dallas Police Department's YouTube Channel:
Detectives from the Dallas Police Departments Crimes Against Persons Unit are asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating an aggravated robbery suspect who robbed the Exxon Tiger mart at 2503 Lemmon Ave. This offense took place on August 16, 2011 at 5:25 AM. The case was documented on report #216965-Y.
In the attached surveillance video, the suspect is seen entering the store wearing what appears to be a black and white flower dress with white boots. His face is also covered with what appears to be under garments. He demands money from the cashier and a patron while holding what could possibly be a gun under the dress. He then flees the store in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as a white male, 5'05" and weighing 145 lbs.
Whatever happened to nylon stockings? Are Halloween mask out of stock? I can think of at least a dozen other items I would’ve used before putting a pair of underwear on my head.
I do hope he presoaked those tidy “whities” before donning it. If not he’ll be known as the sh** streak bandit.
King Obama has proclaimed from the mountain top which illegal aliens will and will not be deported. The new guidelines are amnesty via executive fiat. Advocates for illegals have been trying to push the Dream Act through Congress, but have been defeated at every turn. The Anointed One decided to implement it himself. After all, what is a constitution to his Imperial Majesty?
Obama’s seemingly altruistic actions may have been more political than humanitarian. His approval ratings have drastically dropped among Hispanics:
(CNSNews.com) - Only 49 percent of Hispanic Americans said last week they approve of the job Barack Obama is doing as president, according to the Gallup poll. That is down 36 points from the high of 85 percent that Obama’s approval hit among Hispanics in the Gallup poll in the spring of 2009, his first year as president.
One of the qualifying factors is if you’re a student. If an illegal alien attends college, the feds will look the other way. But in the final analysis, this is really not helping them out. Now, we have an educated illegal that is unable to gain legitimate employment in the United States.
Now some of the students are graduating but unable to work legally as professionals. Julie, 29, who moved from Mexico to Austin at age 12, earned a degree in nursing from the University of Texas. She is unable to work, so instead she volunteers in Dallas "You have people here, and they're trained," said Julie, who did not want her last name used because of her immigration status. "The state has invested in us, so why not let us be contributing members of society and our community?"
Of course none of this would have been possible without the Supreme Court. Plyler V. Doe helped to bring about this immigration nightmare. Now, we have an underclass of educated illegals. Instead, of taking their degrees and going back to their home country, they’re waiting for Congress to pass the Dream Act. Until, that happens they’ll be in legitimate limbo.

Is there a law against stealing from generations of Americans yet unborn? Apparently not; the Democrats are proposing another “stimulus program”. Because you know the last one was so successful.
Senate Democrats on the supercommittee say the group needs to include stimulus for the economy in the deficit-reduction plan it has been tasked with producing by Thanksgiving.
The three Senate Democrats serving on the 12-member deficit supercommittee outlined their approach to the talks in a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Wednesday.
Supercommittee Co-Chairwoman Patty Murray (Wash.) and Sens. Max Baucus (Mont.) and John Kerry (Mass.) said the supercommittee needs to make jobs a top priority. “We know that our goal is to reduce spending. But we also know that America faces not just a budget deficit but also a jobs deficit. Nobody on this committee would be happy if we reduced the budget deficit but even more Americans end up losing their jobs,” Murray, Baucus and Kerry wrote in the op-ed.
What they mean is that federal government workers shouldn’t lose their jobs. And in order to guarantee this loyal constituency employment and benefits until death, they must steal from your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Rep. Louis Gohmert is becoming one of my favorite congressmen. Here he is a describing Obama’s Death Star tour in the American Midwest:
Although Gohmert said the government needs to get “out of the way” to fix America’s problems, he slammed Obama for promoting tax hikes on the wealthy while on his tour and firing crowds up with what Gohmert called “hateful rhetoric.”“He’s out there acting like the evil emperor,” Gohmert told Fox Business network’s Lou Dobbs, continuing the “Star Wars” theme by comparing the president’s behavior on his bus tour to that of the evil Emperor Palpatine in the sci-fi movie series.
“The guy has got to lighten up,” Gohmert said of Obama. “[He’s] saying, ‘Allow the hatred to flow through your veins, hate your neighbor. If you see they have something, then you ought to want it. If you see they’re paying taxes and they’ve got too much money, you ought to take it.’ We need love and affection coming around this country, not that kind of hateful rhetoric.”
The USDA just released a report that projects more corn will go to the production of ethanol, than feed for cattle. That is the first time that has ever happened in this country. At the same time, other crops have experienced loss in yields:
For the first time ever, more of the corn crop may go into gas tanks than into the stomachs of cattle and poultry destined for kitchen tables.
The prediction drew little response last week when it was released by the USDA in its Crop Production and Supply/Demand Report for the 2011 crop season. The USDA kept its prediction for ethanol production demand for corn at 5.05 billion, but lowered demand projections for livestock feed by 100 million bushels to 5 billion bushels.
That fuel now tops livestock as the primary user of corn struck at least one observer as noteworthy.
“That’s a first-time-ever type of change,” University of Missouri Extension economist Ron Plain said in a statement released by the university.
Ethanol is heavily subsidized. When the federal government pushes or favors a particular industry or product that tends to have a ripple effect:
Soybean yields will be 169 million bushels, or 5.24 percent lower than the July estimate of 3.225 billion bushels, the report indicated.
The USDA predicted Iowa’s total corn production will rise from 2.15 billion bushels in 2010 to 2.43 billion bushels in 2011. Iowa’s harvest is predicted to yield 177 bushels per acre. That is higher than last year’s 165 bushels per acre, but shy of the record of 182 bushels.
Anyone who has been in a grocery store can testify to the rising cost of food. Now, we have American families stating that they are going hungry:
The latest report focuses on households with children. It found that 40 of the largest metro areas nationwide had at least 25 percent of households that could not buy enough food for everyone in the home at some point during the past year. Every one of the 100 largest metro areas had 15 percent or more of such households with children.
Food is in high demand, yet short in supply:
In addition, there have been substantial cuts in The Emergency Food Assistance Program, or TEFAP, which represents 38 percent of the food Second Harvest delivers, she said.
Though the local Second Harvest agency continues to get food through the federal TEFAP program, there are empty shelves at the warehouse, said Clyde Fitzgerald, the executive director for Second Harvest Food Bank.
"They've been empty since late last week," he said. "We have had a great daily need for food assistance, and a sharp decrease in supply due to no food-drive donations in several weeks and a marked decline in retail grocery store donations. When your supply goes down sharply and the demand is strong, that depletes supply in a heartbeat."
There are always consequences when the federal government gets involved in the market. It’s quite disturbing when a scientific theory is more important to our elected representatives than its people.

Two of Wisconsin’s Fleebagger Fourteen survived a recall election. The Associated Press reports the following:
The Democrats targeted in Tuesday's election were among the 14 senators who fled the state in February in opposition to Republican Gov. Scott Walker's proposed legislation curbing public employees' collective bargaining rights.
Both won in recalls against Republican challengers.
Democratic Sen. Bob Wirch of Pleasant Prairie defeated Kenosha attorney Jonathan Steitz. Sen. Jim Holperin of Conover beat Republican Kim Simac of Eagle River, who was backed by the grassroots conservative tea party movement.
MSNBC didn’t provide the robust coverage on this recall election like they did on the Republicans last week. But did you expect anything less? Fox News again was remiss.
Barack Obama laments the bygone days of liberal media dominance. You remember those days. It was an era where we conservatives fumed at the Sunday political talk shows, and were astounded at the pretensions of network news anchors’ declaration of “unbiased” reporting.
We watched our values and lives being attacked by reporters who eventually outed themselves as nothing more than partisan hacks, when we finally had an alternative media source. All of us suspected this scum of duplicity and outright lies. And when Dan Rather got his, we all sat back and enjoyed the moment.
The cat is out of the bag. And the only way Obama and his confederates can stop this new era of media is to show who they really are; and that is a bunch of tyrants.
Obama’s Secretary of Agriculture made an asinine comment. According to this fool, every dollar spent in food stamps creates $1.84 in economic activity in direct stimulus. Well, if that’s the case lets all get on welfare. We can all have American Recovery Act placards on our backs.
Newt Gingrich called it. Barack Obama is the Food Stamp President:
CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- A record number of Americans are now receiving food stamps, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In May, there were 45.75 million recipients of the aid, up 2.5% from the previous month and 12% from May of 2010. The state of Alabama showed the biggest increase, almost 120%, with New Jersey, Nevada and North Carolina all seeing jumps in the 20% range. Every state posted a percentage increase, save North Dakota, which was essentially flat.
Thank God for food stamps. I’d hate to see what our economy would be like without them.
I’m so sick of politicians like Barack Obama. His assertion that the uninsured are the ones driving up the cost of health care is patently false. The biggest factor is federal and state regulations. The CATO Institute published a report back in 2004 outlining the real instigators of out of control insurance premiums. Even though this report is somewhat dated, it gives you an idea just how insidious government regulations can be:
The high cost of health services regulation is responsible for more than seven million Americans lacking health insurance, or one in six of the average daily uninsured. Moreover, 4,000 more Americans die every year from costs associated with health services regulation (22,000) than from lack of health insurance (18,000). The annual net cost of health services regulation dwarfs other costs imposed by government intervention in the health care sector. This cost exceeds annual consumer expenditures on gasoline and oil in the United States and is twice the size of the annual output of the motion picture and sound recording industries.
And because of excessive government regulations, more people are likely to drop their insurance:
Based on consensus estimates about the impact of higher prices on how many would likely drop health insurance, this increased cost implies a 3.8 percent reduction in the demand for coverage. This translates into 6.8 million uninsured whose plight arguably might be attributed to excess regulatory costs, or roughly one in six of the average daily uninsured.
And to add salt in the wound, governmental compliance also adds to the cost of health insurance:
Even though the government collects $2.1 billion in enforcement penalties (treated here as a transfer), the gross cost of health care fraud and abuse regulation is estimated to be $3.2 billion, inclusive of government regulatory costs, industry compliance costs, and efficiency losses from tax collection and regulatory costs. All industry compliance costs (including enforcement penalties) are treated as roughly equivalent to an excise tax.
Of course, we can’t expect statist like Barack Obama to hold the government responsible. He’s too busy throwing the American people under his Magical Misery Bus.

They say Americans have a short memory. And I’m beginning to believe that is true. We are now reliving the Carter era. That is something I hoped we would never experience again:
(Reuters) - U.S. consumer sentiment worsened sharply in early August, falling to the lowest level in more than three decades, after retail sales posted the biggest gain in four months in July.
High unemployment, stagnant wages, gridlock in Congress, and a stock market slump all contributed to a consumer mood that was as grim as when Jimmy Carter was President during the recession of 1980 and interest rates were more than 20 percent.
We haven’t reached the high interest rates yet. But Bernanke and the Feds are doing their damnedest to destroy the value of the dollar.
And this guy won a Nobel Prize? I guess that shouldn’t surprise anyone. Look at all the murderous despots, nimrods, and teleprompter readers who’ve won that dubious award; talk about Twilight Zone.
