We'll Observer Earth Day When EPA Observes the Law

You got to love this.  The National Federation of Independent Businesses declared they would observe Earth Day when the EPA observes the law.

Regulatory agencies are supposed to assess how new rules will affect small businesses.  In this case, however, the EPA bypassed that step, arguing that the new rule is merely a definitional change and does not, therefore, require a small business impact study.

“That’s a pretty self-serving interpretation,” said Bosch.  “The President, who may support the new rule, should nevertheless respect the process and require the EPA to perform the analysis.”

NFIB has previously warned Americans that the new water regulations will give theEPA control over virtually any body of water on any homeowner's property - no matter how small or often it gets wet. Under the rule, the EPA will regulate homeowners as if they were casino developers in the Gulf Coast, NFIB warns

I wonder when the EPA will declare a national holiday for their agency, and then force all of us to celebrate it.  It could happen.  This agency seems to answer to no one.  They’re a law unto themselves.

Big Solar Energy Swarms upon N.C. Republican Manure Pile

Did North Carolinians kick democrats out of office only to replace them with like-minded republicans?  I know I didn’t vote for the status quo.  Just because a politician has an “R” behind his name doesn’t give him a license to continue the corrupt practices that’s endemic in Raleigh.  Republicans were supposed to put an end to this crap.

Big Solar Energy has once again wormed its way into the taxpayers’ wallet.  So-called free market conservatives voted to continue government mandates and subsidies for inefficient and expensive renewable energy schemes.  We can expect no relief from high utility bills.

Who are these scoundrels?  The Civitas Institute reported the following:

Rep. John Szoka (R-Cumberland), perhaps the most outspoken proponent of solar energy this year, is listed as a sponsor on HB 454 The Energy Investment Act, a bill that would extend the 35 percent state tax credit for renewables. He also is a primary sponsor on another bill, HB 245, Utilities/The Energy Freedom Act, which will allow third-party sales of electricity from on-site renewable energy facilities.

And don’t forget these people:

Szoka is not the only Republican who has turned his back on conservative, free-market principles to take up the cause of more government mandates, political favoritism and higher electric bills. In April 2013, Rep. Mike Hager (R-Rutherford) sponsored legislation to roll back the renewable energy mandates. Six Republicans joined with all the Democrats in the Public Utilities and Energy Committee and voted against the legislation, preventing the bill from making it to the House floor for a vote. The Republicans who voted against the legislation, thus maintaining these solar mandates, were current Speaker of the House Tim Moore (Cleveland), Jerry Dockham (Davidson), Ruth Samuelson (Mecklenburg), Nelson Dollar ( Wake), Charles Jeter (Mecklenburg), and Linda Johnson (Cabarrus).

Of course, where would we be without lobbyist pushing for these boondoggles.  Many will be surprised to find out that Big Solar has hired republican political consultants and lobbyists to raid the treasury.  Once again, Civitas flushes out their names:

The environmentalists pushing “clean” energy have fashioned a new weapon that can best be described as “Big Solar.” But Big Solar is not a job-growth engine as claimed by lobbyists, it exists only because of government. The major solar corporations, however, have hired the right Republican political consultants and lobbyists in North Carolina to push the narrative to their clients – GOP legislators.

For example, the “Clean Energy” power players in North Carolina include the most powerful and well-connected Republican political consultants.

Paul Shumaker, Partner, Strategic Partners Solutions and President of political consulting firm Capital Communications, Inc. Shumaker boasts as his clients Sen. Richard Burr, Supreme Court Justices Mark Martin and Bob Edmunds, and Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry. Shumaker served as campaign director for the North Carolina Republican Party from 1985-1987 and worked for former Gov. Jim Martin in both of his successful gubernatorial campaigns.

Dee Stewart, Partner, Strategic Partners Solutions, is also CEO and President of the political consulting firm the Stewart Group, Inc. Stewart was U.S. Congressman Patrick McHenry’s chief of staff in 2005 and is currently his chief political advisor. He was the executive director of the Iowa Republican Party during a presidential primary year. According to the Strategic Partners Solutions website, Stewart has worked for dozens of current and former state legislators – all Republicans – including Senate Leader Phil Berger, Sen. Bill Rabon (Brunswick) and Rep. David Lewis (Harnett).

Betsy McCorkle, political consultant to North Carolina Clean Energy Business Alliance (NCCEBA). McCorkleis the director of government affairs for the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Alliance (NCSEA) and was formally the Economic Development Program Manager for the North Carolina Solar Center at NC State University.

Kristen Laster, Managing Partner, Southern Strategy Group. Laster is also a registered lobbyist with NCSEAand is the treasurer for the NCCEBA PAC.

Scott Laster, Partner, Southern Strategy Group is a registered lobbyist with NCSEA. Laster worked as the house campaign director for the North Carolina Republican Party in 2010. In 2012, he was hired as executive director for the NCGOP.

Other clean energy operatives working to recruit conservatives to Big Solar include:
Mark Fleming, President and CEO of Conservatives for Clean Energy. Formerly, Fleming served as district director for Congressman Patrick McHenry. According to his bio, he also worked as vice president of NCFREE and executive director of the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce.

Ivan Urlaub, executive director and registered agent for NCSEA. He was also the registered agent for theNCCEBA.

These power players, and the misnamed “conservative” groups, are all connected to environmental groups who get their funding from some of the most radical and well-funded organizations in the world. A 2014 United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works Minority Staff report, titled “The Chain of Environmental Command – How a Club of Billionaires and Their Foundations Control the Environmental Movement and Obama’s EPA,” described an organization named Sea Change this way:

“Even more unsettling, a dominant organization in this movement is Sea Change Foundation, a private California foundation, which relies on funding from a foreign company with undisclosed donors. In turn, Sea Change funnels tens of millions of dollars to other large but discreet foundations and prominent environmental activists who strive to control both policy and politics.”

What do you know? We have the same flies, just a different pile of manure.

Obamacare Becomes Democratic Party's Albatross

The Democratic Party’s wealth redistribution schemes have become an albatross around their collective necks.  Who would’ve thought Obamacare would become the catalyst for a complete distrust of big government?  Here is an excerpt from an article published by The New American:

Adding fuel to the increasingly anti-government mindset evidenced by the American people is another finding from Gallup that caught the attention of Thomas Edsall, a long-time liberal contributing editor at the New York Times: It’s ObamaCare that completed the shift. Wrote Edsall:

The erosion of the belief in health care as a government-protected right is perhaps the most dramatic reflection of these trends. In 2006, by a margin of more than two to one, 69-28, those surveyed by Gallup said that the federal government should guarantee health care coverage for all citizens of the United States.

By late 2014, however, Gallup found that this percentage had fallen 24 points to 45 percent, while the percentage of respondents who said health care is not a federal responsibility nearly doubled to 52 percent. [Emphasis added.]

Once the real costs of ObamaCare became evident, Americans quickly lost confidence in the government. Those costs are just beginning to surface, with penalties for those opting out increasing greatly over the next couple of years, along with premiums of those forced into buying coverage they otherwise wouldn’t want.

Those increases won’t be limited, either, to just those buying new coverage. Those with existing coverage are seeing their premiums increase greatly, removing any doubt that the costs of ObamaCare, as most other government welfare programs, would be levied on America’s middle class.

Just wait when the baby boomers begin to retire in mass.  There are going to be a lot of pissed off people.

The Hunt for Conservative Americans

When Barack Obama promised to transform the United States, I initially thought it was just a bunch of pabulum all politicians spew during the course of a campaign.  I was wrong.  During his tenure as president, this country has changed into something that is anything but American.  What’s happening is something we’d see in the Third World.

Progressives have claimed open season on conservatives.  Anyone who disagrees with these totalitarians will face their wrath.  As far as they’re concerned, conservatives have no rights.    We’ve already witnessed federal bureaucrats harass and intimidate Tea Party activist for having the audacity to participate in the political process.  Even the courts have become politicized.  Progressive jurist are forcing Christian business owners to participate in gay weddings or shut their doors.

The great hunt is on.

Democrats in the state of Wisconsin have taken notice.  Conservatives in the “cradle of progressivism” have had their homes and livelihoods turned upside down by  corrupt “public servants” hell bent on intimidating political opponents.   National Review has an in depth article on the abuse of power by District Attorney General John Chisholm and Judge Barbara Kluka.  These people must be prosecuted.

This is a must read.

Blue State Refugees Invade Red States

As a transplanted Yankee, I can attest to the paucity of jobs and opportunities in a blue state.  I left many years ago, and vowed I would never live in another one again.  To this day, I meet blue state refugees who relate similar experiences I had decades ago.  Nothing seems to change.

Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of New York license plates in North Carolina.  I can only hope they’re passing through or just visiting.  If they’re here to stay, we can only pray they’re not a bunch of teat squawkers looking to leech off of productive citizens.

The citizens of North Carolina kicked the progressives out of power, and with good reason.  They tried to change the Old North State into a Yankee-esque hellhole.  However, an influx of blue state refugees with redistributive tendencies could change this mini-renaissance.  I’m sure the totalitarians seeing this mass migration are licking their chops in anticipation of regaining power.

One must ask, why do blue states fail?  Stephen Moore of the Heritage Foundation wrote an article on this very subject.  Here is an excerpt:

So, if income redistribution policies are the solution to shrinking the gap between rich and poor, why do they fail so miserably in the states?
The blue states that try to lift up the poor with high taxes, high welfare benefits, high minimum wages and other Robin Hood policies tend to be the places where the rich end up the richest and the poor the poorest.
California is the prototypical example. It has the highest tax rates of any state. It has very generous welfare benefits. Many of its cities have a high minimum wage. But day after day, the middle class keeps leaving. The wealthy areas such as San Francisco and the Silicon Valley boom. Yet the state has nearly the highest poverty rate in the nation. The Golden State, alas, has become the inequality state.
In a new report called “Rich States, Poor States” that I write each year for the American Legislative Exchange Council with Arthur Laffer and Jonathan Williams, we find that five of the highest-tax blue states in the nation — California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Illinois — lost some 4 million more U.S. residents than entered these states over the last decade (see chart). Meanwhile, the big low-tax red states — Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Arizona and Georgia — gained about this many new residents.
It’s too bad red states are unable to form their own immigration policies.  Australia would have nothing on us.

Global Warming Grafters Celebrate Earth Day 2015

Global warming grafters and their lemmings will celebrate two of their favorite subjects this week: totalitarianism and environmentalism.  April 22 is Earth Day and Vladimir Lenin’s birthday and it’s no coincidence that the former coincides with the latter.

Here is one of the principle grafters expounding on the biggest fraud ever perpetuated in the history of mankind:

This yahoo seems to think man controls the climate, as though the Earth has a thermostat button.  Here is how much reverence the Earth worshippers have for the environment.  Take a look at this:

You’ll never see this kind of “reverence” at a Tea Party gathering.  They clean up after themselves, unlike these hypocrites.

Newsmax aired a documentary on this climate change fraud entitled, Dark Winter.  You can buy the video and book at Amazon.com.

N.C. Democrats Roiled Over Billy Graham Statue

North Carolina Democrats are roiled over a House bill that would replace Charles Aycock in our nation’s Statuary Hall with Billy Graham.  WRAL reported the following:

RALEIGH, N.C. — House lawmakers voted 71-28 Thursday to make the Rev. Billy Graham the state's next representative in the Statuary Hall of the U.S. Capitol, replacing a statue of former Gov. Charles Aycock.
But the debate over the honor was divisive and acrimonious at times, with Republicans accusing Democrats of not liking Graham. Meanwhile, Democrats argued Republicans had refused to consider other candidates and had subverted the committee process to avoid debate on the matter.

Since when are Democrats concerned about the process?  Did we hear one iota of dissent from these people when King Obama declared executive amnesty without going through Congress?  Not only was the process violated, so was the Constitution.  Did they scream bloody murder when the Affordable Care Act was shoved down our throats when Democrats eschewed the process?  Of course, not!

Sorry, Democrats.  You get no sympathy from me.

Estate Taxes: Liberal Ghouls Feast on the Dead

Want to make a liberal hyperventilate?  Declare a tax break for those who actually pay taxes, better yet, repeal the infamous Death Tax.  Do that and you’ll hear the beltway courtesans howl all the way from the Boston – New York – Washington D.C. corridor.

Dana Milbank, of the Washington Post, almost soiled his underroos when the House Rules Committee took up a bill to repeal this ghoulish taking.  After all, the beneficiaries didn’t earn that.   A dying man’s wish accounts for nothing to a liberal, because all estates, dead and accounted for, belong to the federal government.  They are first and foremost when it comes to picking the carcass.

Mr. Milbank couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a swipe at the tea party.  Even to this day, these people cannot comprehend the fact that this grassroots uprising is amorphous.  No one organization controls the tea party.  Not only does he have to lie about patriotic Americans who truly want to reform this ravenous government, he also relies on the prevarications of a liberal organization to reinforce his talking points.  Here is an excerpt from his article:

This is the ultimate perversion of the tea party movement, which began as a populist revolt in 2009 but has since been hijacked by wealthy and corporate interests. The estate tax has been part of American law in some form since 1797, according to the advocacy group Americans for Tax Fairness, as a shield against the sort of permanent aristocracy our founders fought to rid themselves of.

Never trust a liberal.  Always check out their sources and their assertions.  Americans for Tax Fairness is a progressive organization whose mission is to redistribute the wealth of others.  Their co-chairs and staff consist of a hodgepodge of socialists, union organizers, and activists.  They’re endorsed by almost every progressive whack-job in the country.  And Dana Milbank is using this advocacy group as a reliable source?  How can anyone take this guy seriously?

If you want to know the history behind the estate tax all you have to do is look it up on the internet.  Here is synopsis by the National Center for Policy Analysis published in July 2000:

The U.S. Senate has followed the House in voting to repeal the estate tax. Estate tax supporters claimed that from the beginning, it was designed to redistribute wealth. But history shows the it existed solely for revenue purposes until the 1930s.

The first estate tax -- enacted July 6, 1797, to help pay for naval rearmament -- required only the purchase of federal stamps for wills and estates, but was terminated four years later because the need for the revenue passed.

A direct tax on inheritances imposed in 1862 during the Civil War ranged from 0.75 percent to 5 percent.

The top rate was raised to 6 percent in 1864; but the tax was then abolished July 14, 1870.

In 1898, an estate tax with a top rate of 15 percent on estates over $1 million was imposed to pay for the Spanish-American War -- then repealed on April 12, 1902.

America's fourth estate tax, enacted in 1916, set a top rate of 10 percent on estates over $5 million. It was raised to 25 percent in 1917, but this rate applied only to estates over $10 million. Unlike its predecessors, it was not repealed after the war, although the top rate was dropped to 20 percent in 1926.

President Franklin Roosevelt raised the top rate to 60 percent in 1934, and to 70 percent in 1935. The same bill increased the top income tax rate to 75 percent and increased corporate taxes. Altogether the law raised just $250 million annually.

Today the estate tax goes up to 60 percent. It exists only to redistribute income, since its revenue yield is negligible. But estate planning makes the tax virtually voluntary, according to estate tax experts.

Liberals fear nothing more than an informed citizenry.  If you see a libtard moving his lips, chances are, he’s lying.

Christian Colleges Stay Away from Federal Loans

If you want freedom of religion in today’s America, you have to stay as far away from the federal government as possible, which means foregoing any and all financial assistance that may have the stink of Washington D.C. all over it.  Some small colleges would rather go it alone than compromise their religious beliefs.  The Blaze reported the following:

The estimated loss to Wyoming Catholic: $650,000 annually in loans and $250,000 in Pell grants students could have used to pay tuition costs.
Wyoming Catholic students would have become eligible for federal aid once the school finished gaining its accreditation, the Times noted.
But students and board members alike told the Times the loss was worth it if it meant the federal government could not impose religious freedom-infringing rules on the college.
The vast majority of Catholic universities, from more liberal institutions such as Notre Dame to more conservative colleges including the Franciscan University of Steubenville, do accept federal student aid — and the imposition of federal rules that comes with it.

This is just the beginning.

If You Defund It, They'll Leave

“If you defund it, they’ll leave.”  Wait, wasn't that a famous line in the movie, Field of Dreams?  Oh, that’s what Governor Paul LePage has accomplished in the great state of Maine.  Top Right News reported the following:

Last November, just one week after his re-election, LePage did something unusual — he made good on a major campaign promise, by slashing funds for cities who give welfare to illegal aliens. The policy has already had a huge impact, with illegals fleeing in droves, and Democrat mayors having to defend giving handouts to illegal invaders before angry voters.

Now, just 6 months later, LePage is making good on another promise: to put an end to welfare leeches in his state, once and for all.

The results are something every American should see — an EPIC victory. And Democrats are FURIOUS.

There is common sense in the Age of Obama?  Could this possibly be happening?  Surely, this must be an aberration.

Obamacare: Shocking Americans Since 2010

Happy Takings Day!  Liberals from around the country are popping corks and drinking deep from the challis of ill-gotten gains.  To them, happiness is watching their neighbor get shafted by the taxman.  You didn’t build that!  You didn’t work for that!  You didn’t earn that!  Your marginal success couldn’t have happened hadn’t you stolen it from a small-fisted progressive!

Some of these teat squawkers are choking on sour grapes.  The federal government vineyard isn’t as bountiful, or as generous as once thought.  Those who thought Obamacare was such a great deal by forcing others to subsidize their health insurance, are finding out those plans aren’t such a bargain after all.

"I wasn't very happy," said Mike Highsmith, 61, a retired US Airways flight attendant who learned after having his taxes done that he has to pay back every cent of the $6,624 in federal subsidies that helped pay the lion's share of his HealthCare.gov-purchased plan.

"This shocked me ... I didn't know this was coming."

Highsmith was one many Obamacare financial-aid recipients in 2014 who didn't know their plans were being subsidized.

"I was paying $89 per month and they [the federal government] were paying $736," said Highsmith, who only learned about the subsidy and its value when he received a 1095-A form from the IRS this year. He said he wasn't told about the subsidy when he applied for insurance over the HealthCare.gov telephone assistance line.

"I would have canceled it if I had known that," he said, referring to the plan's retail price.

How could he have not known his plan was subsidized?  Where can you get an $89 per month health insurance plan in the Age of Obama?  Apparently, there a lot of shocked people like this guy.

But about 50 percent of subsidized Obamacare customers will owe money back, which will offset their tax refunds or wipe them out altogether, according to a recent Kaiser Family Foundation report.

The US Treasury Department estimates that most Obamacare customers will still get an income-tax refund, meaning they won't have to cut a check to the IRS for repaid subsidies. A Treasury spokesman said average refund is about $2,900, which would offset any repayment in most cases

Cross Up, Don't Sue!

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth.  Well, there is nothing meek about the militant LGBT community and their praetorian guards in today’s progressive movement.  Shame isn’t exactly a resume enhancer when it comes to these people.  Everyone must accept their homosexual lifestyles even if it means forcing others to violate their conscience and/or religion.

Monomaniacal is the best way to describe these 1 percenters.  The LGBT community is so obsessed with their sexuality that they are willing to destroy the livelihood of others as a means to advance their agenda.  Any business that is remotely associated with Christianity has a huge target on its back.  Cross bearers will be forced to cater their weddings and events.  Your religion, be damned.  Your conscience, be damned.  Your lifestyle, be damned.  A Christian business owners’ slogan should be:  Cross up, Don’t Sue!

So when sympathetic Americans defend a besieged business for having the audacity for being Christian while owning a business, the LGBT community couldn’t believe it.

A couple of years ago, militant gays attacked Chick-fil-A for defending traditional marriage.  Some in the LGBT community were brazen enough to make out in these restaurants.  They seem to enjoy shocking the senses of mainstream Americans, particularly Christians.

What’s next?  Will they parade themselves in front of churches wearing assless pants, while gerbils play peek-a-boo with parishioners attending Sunday services?

Is the LGBT community capable of shame?

Police Chase Illegal Alien Who Has Been Deported Over 20 Times

Still believe we have a border?  Does citizenship matter in the Age of Obama?

FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a man arrested after a high-speed chase in Pinal County is a native of Mexico who has been deported 20 times.

County Sheriff's officials say 26-year-old Genaro Cisneros-Delgado is being held on a $50,000 bond on suspicion of felony flight and endangerment.
They say Cisneros-Delgado took a sheriff's deputy on a 30-mile chase on Interstate 10 last Friday night and speeds reached more than 100 mph
Authorities say Cisneros-Delgado crashed through a locked gate outside a Sun Lakes retirement community before stopping the vehicle and fleeing with three passengers.
Sheriff's officials say Cisneros-Delgado and the other three are in the country illegally and he was smuggling them into the U.S.

Illegal Alien Gets Slap on Wrist for Stealing American Citizen's Identity

Anyone who has had their identity stolen can tell you, its hell getting one’s life back.  So, when a criminal is caught, you’d expect the full force of the law to come down on him.  After all, this isn’t stealing a candy bar from a store.  This scumbag stole a person’s life.   Well, if the perpetrator was an ordinary American citizen, we could expect justice.  If he is an illegal alien he gets this:

“Alegria-Garcia, a citizen of El Salvador, has been in the United States illegally since the early 1980s,” says a statement published by the Office of Inspector General of the Social Security Administration.

The OIG statement was headlined: "Illegal Alien Sentenced to 29 Months in Prison for Identity Theft."

“United States Court Judge Sharon L. Gleason sentenced Alegria-Garcia to the five months imprisonment he has already served on the Social Security number and false citizenship charges, and also imposed a mandatory two-year consecutive term for aggravated identity theft,” said the statement.

“In imposing the sentence, Judge Gleason mentioned the impact on the victim, as well as the defendant’s long criminal record spanning more than 30 years,” said the statement. “The victim, a U.S. national living in New York, stated that he found it difficult to obtain the benefits he was entitled to through Social Security because government records indicated that he was working in Alaska. In fact, Alegria-Garcia was working in Alaska, having stolen the victim’s identity.”

Although Alegria-Garcia had been “in the United States illegally since the early 1980s,” according to the statement published by the Social Security Administration OIG, he was arrested in late 2014, according to a press release put out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“Alegria-Garcias was arrested in November 2014 and charged with unlawful use of a Social Security number, making a false claim of United States citizenship and aggravated identity theft in connection with an application for unemployment benefits from the state of Alaska,” said the ICE press release.

“Jose Alegria-Garcia, 56, admitted in a January plea agreement to knowingly using the identity of a U.S. citizen to obtain benefits from the state of Alaska,” said the ICE press release. “According to court records Alegria-Garcia’s victim, a New York man, discovered his identity had been stolen when he found it difficult to obtain the benefits he was entitled to through Social Security because government records indicated he was working in Alaska.”

Two years plus time served?  Where is the justice in that?

NC Committee Debate Need for States' Convention

The first step to recovery is recognizing you have a problem.  That’s what North Carolina’s House Judiciary Committee did when they discussed a proposal to convene a states’ convention to amend the U.S. Constitution.

It has become quite apparent this country has an unrestrained and abusive federal government.  Something must be done.

Opponents warn of a runaway convention.  Proponents declare proposed amendments would be limited in scope.  Either way we have a runaway federal government.  The following sentiments sum up exactly what Washington D.C. has become:

Gary Kennedy from Youngsville also spoke in support of the convention call, telling the committee that the country's "enemy is within."
"We have a runaway convention now. It’s called the Congress and the executive branch and the judicial branch," Kennedy said. "When you give people that kind of power, they will be corrupt.
"I can see no other peaceful solution to the problems we face. I don’t want to see armed rebellion," he said.
"We have to do something," agreed Rep. Bob Steinburg, R-Chowan. "This situation, this Washington, is not going to fix itself, and it’s got to happen soon."
"No amount of electing good people is going to change Washington, D.C., structurally, the way it needs to be changed," Farris added.

Convention, dissolution or totalitarianism: take your pick.
