United States Loses Ranking in Economic Freedom

The Heritage Foundation in conjunction with the Wall Street Journal conducted its annual report, Index of Economic Freedom. The report distinguishes the most free countries in the world based on the following criteria:

  1. Burdensome of government on business and entrepreneurs.
  2. Intrusiveness of government
  3. Fundamental societal characteristics

It would surprise many Americans to find out that the United States is ranked #8 behind Canada and just above Denmark. Or maybe not, considering what has happened in the past couple of years.

You can access this information at The Heritage Foundations website: http://www.heritage.org/Index/
