Governor Reestablishes Advisory Council on Hispanic/Latino Affairs
Signed Executive Order No. 22
Gov. Bev Perdue has signed Executive Order No. 22 reestablishing the Governor’s Advisory Council on Hispanic/Latino Affairs. Gov. Perdue has appointed 15 members to serve on the council. The members of this council were sworn-in today by Judge Albert Diaz.



Mrs. Marisol Barr of Chocowinity is a public relations eligibility specialist for Martin County Community Action, Inc.
Dr. Jorge Calles-Escandón of Clemmons is a professor at Wake Forest University’s School of Medicine.
Mr. Wayne Cooper of Charlotte is an honorary consul of Mexico for North Carolina.
Dr. Paul Cuadros of Pittsboro is an assistant professor at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Mr. José Cuauhtémoc González of Yadkinville is a coordinator for the Catholic Church Diocese of Charlotte.
Mr. Bernie Hargadon of Charlotte is retired from McKesson Corporation.
Ms. Fiorella Horna-Guerra of Cary is a program consultant in the Office of Rural Health for the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services.
Mr. Gabriel Jiménez of Raleigh owns Jimenez Law Offices.
Mr. José Rubén Moreno of Halifax is a spanish teacher for Halifax County Schools.
Ms.Yvonne Pagan of Wilmington is a case manager, advocate, and group facilitator at the Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, Inc.
Mrs. Liliana Parker of Fayetteville is a business consultant for the Women’s Center of Fayetteville.
Mr. Augusto Peña of Boone is the Assistant Director for Multicultural Education at Appalachian State University.
Mrs. María del Pilar Rocha-Goldberg of Durham is the executive director of El Centro Hispano.
Dr. Diane Rodríguez of Greenville is an associate professor at East Carolina University.
Mr. Ramón Rojano of Raleigh is the director of Wake County Human Services.



The council advises the Governor on issues relating to the Hispanic/Latino community in North Carolina, supports state efforts toward the improvement of race and ethnic relations and provides a forum for discussion of issues concerning the Hispanic/Latino community.
