Beaverton, Oregon Celebrates Mexican Independence; Not American
Beaverton, Oregon is planning to celebrate the independence day of Mexico on September 16. The cost to the taxpayers is $5000.00.
The city of Beaverton ask you to celebrate the bicentennial of Mexico’s independence with an evening of music, dancing and food in City Park (5th Street & Hall Blvd) on Thursday, September 16th from 6pm to 8:30pm. Come listen to Mariachi Viva Mexico, hear from guest speakers, including Mayor Denny Doyle, and enjoy a performance of a variety of native dances from regions across Mexico by Ballet Folklorico Sol Azteca.
“The city of Beaverton is fortunate enough to have one of the most diverse populations in the area and we’re excited to be a part of this cultural celebration,” said Mayor Doyle. “It’s an honor to recognize events like these that are so special to many members of this community.
The Mexican Consulate requested the city to sponsor and pay for their holiday; yet council members refuse to celebrate the 4th of July. Radio show host, Lars Larson interviewed councilwoman Betty Bode:.
“We recognize American Independence Day,” she said.
“In what way?” Larson asked.
“Because we have our flags up.”
“You have your flag up? Did you even so much as pass a resolution on the Fourth of July?” Larson said.
“No, we didn’t,” Bode responded.
I seriously doubt that this bitch even owns an American flag.
What in the hell is going on this country?
