Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley is another forked tongue
Democratic snake. At the National
Governor’s Association he accused Republicans of sabotaging the economy. The Associated Press reported the following
remarks by the head of the Democratic National Governor’s Association:
"I
think that there is an extreme wing within their party who have as their
primary goal not the jobs recovery, but the defeat of President Obama in
2012," O'Malley said in an interview. "They know that their formulations,
their policies of less revenues and less regulation badly failed our country
and plunged us into this recession. So their only way of evening the playing
field is to keep the president from being successful in the jobs
recovery."He contended that key Republican members of Congress, "through their intransigence, cleverly set up a situation for America's economy to fail, either by needlessly driving us to default, or needlessly driving us into massive public sector layoffs."
"I think that they are disgracefully cynical," said O'Malley, who has a prominent profile as head of the Democratic governors' group.
Well, let’s take a look at the pot. According to the life of O’Malley, by his own criteria, his administration is culpable of sabotaging the prosperity of the State of Maryland. The Frederick County Times reports the following:
Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley announced that he is offering state employees the option to voluntarily terminate their employment with the state in order to save money in the FY 2012 state budget. The State is offering employees $15,000 plus $200 for each year of service with the state if they agree to terminate their employment by January 31, 2011. To be eligible for the incentive state employees must apply for the incentive between December 7, 2010 and January 4, 2011.
The state is attempting to eliminate 500 positions in total during FY 2011. Governor O’Malley claims that he has already eliminated 4,200 positions in state employment. Those who apply for the voluntarily termination incentive will not automatically be accepted into the program. Governor O’Malley’s Executive Order states that the Secretary will review the applications and determine whether the position should be eliminated.
O’Malley’s own website brags that he eliminated over 4,200 government positions. Not only has he driven a massive layoff of public employees, he has starved the state coffers of revenue by reducing income taxes of 85% Marylanders. Wow! What a hypocrite.
Governor O’Malley should have a sign hung around his neck:
You live up to your name Waldo
