Fox News Drops Ball on Wisconsin Recall Elections

Wisconsin’s recall elections were last night and Fox News dropped the ball. I had to cross over the tracks to find out what was going on. That’s right I ventured over into that part of town where people’s lawns are knee deep in grass for want of a government subsidy; where the muggers and rapist of the truth openly harass you at every corner; where the village idiots harp their nonsensical spew. That’s right I had to watch MSNBC.

And guess who was holding court? The King of Fools himself, Ed Schultz. His retinue consisted of communist whose only contributions to society are bitching about the prosperity of others. And surrounding these mental midgets were the beggars smacking their lips in anticipation of a free meal.

But the nights end didn’t bring about the promises of a welfare state. The Democrats were only able to recall two senators out of the six, and at great expense:

In the end, the union-backed Democrats picked up only two state Senate seats in Wisconsin last night, at a staggering cost in time, effort, and of course money. One of the seats was solidly Democratic, held by a Republican due to an apparent fluke of nature. The other was held by an alleged adulterer who had moved outside his district to live with his young mistress, and whose wife was supporting his recall.

As for the other four Republican incumbents the unions tried to recall, they didn't end up coming very close. And remember -- these weren't just any Republican incumbents. These were the ones that the unions judged most vulnerable, which is why they collected petition signatures against them.

How did Republicans hold out? It hasn't hurt that Walker's reforms have dramatically helped school districts within the state save millions of dollars by
abolishing the main Wisconsin teachers' union's insurance racket. Nor does it hurt that Wisconsin, under the business-friendly leadership of Walker and a Republican state legislature, created more than half of the jobs created in the United States during the month of June.

Next week it’s the Democrats turn. Two senators are up for a recall. And I hope that Fox News does a better job on their coverage. I can still smell the stench of socialism wafting from my television.
