Secretary Of Labor Hilda Solis Issues Treaties Without Consent of the Senate

The Obama administration strikes again. Leave it to these statist scumbags to completely subvert the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. What is the latest offense? Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis has been signing treaties with foreign governments without the advice and consent of the United States Senate:

(CNSNews.com) - U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis today signed "partnership" agreements with ambassadors from a group of Latin American nations aiming to protect what she described as the labor rights of both legal and illegal migrants working in the United States.

During the signing ceremony hosted at Labor Department headquarters in Washington D.C., Solis said the agreements are aimed at educating migrant workers, regardless of how they got here, about their rights under U.S. law and to help prevent them from being abused in the workplace, either through wages, loss of job, or deportation.

When asked by CNSNews.com, she made clear the agreements aim at protecting both documented and undocumented workers inside the United States.

Notice the operative words used: “partnership agreements”. Again, the English language is being abused by the progressives. Now let’s take a look at the word "treaty" under the American Heritage Dictionary:

Treaty: a formal agreement between two or more states containing terms of trade, peace, alliance, or the like; a pact

Is not a partnership agreement the same as a treaty between two or more states?

Now let’s take a look at the U.S. Constitution, Article II Section II:

He shall have the power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two-thirds of the senators present concur…

I don’t believe the Senate approved these treaties. We have just witnessed a coup by the Obama bureaucratic machine.
