Truth and the Voter Run Senator Kay Hagan's Gauntlet of Lies

Election Day is nearing and liberals are frantic.  North Carolina is inundated with campaign ads.  Senator Kay Hagan’s leg humpers will do whatever they can to get her back to Washington D.C.  So she can shove their agenda down our throats.  Truth once again has become a casualty in this Liberal War on the American People.

I’m reminded of an old Clint Eastwood movie, “The Gauntlet” where a police officer is tasked to get a witness to the courthouse.  Unfortunately for Ben Shockley and his charge, powerful people want them dead before they can get there.  In this case, truth and the voter are running Kay Hagan’s and her minions’ gauntlet of lies while they’re trying to make it to the polls.

Here is an ad outright lying about Thom Tillis’ record on education:

They claim he cut $500 million from the education budget.  Not true.  Carolina Journal reported the following:

The simple explanation is that the $500 million figure is essentially an apples-to-oranges comparison. I have collected the enacted budget figures from the last seven years. I chose this timeframe to include data from the last recession. The state budget had to be cut during this time to reflect a decrease in tax revenue to the state, so I thought this would give a truer picture of what has happened with education spending in North Carolina.

The commercials say, “Speaker Thom Tillis cut almost $500 million from education.” Thom Tillis has been speaker since the 2011-12 fiscal year, when the first budget was passed under his leadership, until the most recent budget that was passed in the 2014-2015 fiscal year. If we look at all the budgets under his leadership, total education spending increased by nearly $1 billion. If we look at the most recent budget cycle, it increased by a little over $700 million

I wonder what the line is on truth making it to the polls.  Odds are against it.
