Special Snowflake Hysteria Over Historical Monuments and Memorabilia

Confederate hysteria has taken over the country.  Men along with women are having fainting spells over historic memorabilia and statues.  A special snowflake in Wallingford, Connecticut almost lost control over his bowels at a flea market because he espied something so horrid he had to call everyone he could think of in order to have it removed.

The town resident who called 911 said there were helmets with swastikas, images of Hitler and other historical Nazi items.

“I was shaking and almost vomiting,” he tells the paper. “I had to run. My grandmother had numbers,” referring to the digits the Nazis would tattoo on prisoners.
The caller complained that the Confederate items were “not authentic” and were replicas of flags and weapons.
He says the seller told him “he was selling so much he can’t keep it in stock.”
Jason Teal, president of the Meriden-Wallingford NAACP, was contacted to see what he thought.
“It’s difficult because it’s on private property and it’s considered free speech,” Teal says.
According to the paper, the complainant also called Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr., who promptly called Chief Wright

This is a man?  I would be ashamed of myself for acting in such an unmanly manner.  It makes you wonder how old this guy is.

Stupidity doesn’t end with Mr. Depends.  The Charlotte Observer published the following comment in Sunday’s, The Observer Forum:

I went to Tuesday night’s Mecklenburg County Board meeting and reason broke out!

Commissioners George Dunlap and Jim Puckett stood out.  Dunlap for his somewhat surprising position that the Confederate monument should stay right where it is because as he said, it’s history.

Puckett parsed the monument’s language to make a reasonable person at least consider an intent other than hate on the part of its author.

Pity the poor manager now left to suggest a solution.

Here’s mine, actually my wife’s: Move this monument and the one on City Hall grounds to the Levine Museum of the New South for the teaching moments they would provide.

So these boneheads want to move a monument to a museum?  I have a better idea.  Why don’t we move all the special snowflakes north of the Mason-Dixon line?
