DOD's $43 Million Gas Station

Congress voted to raise the debt ceiling and approved $80 billion in additional spending through September 17, 2017 because the country can’t afford a federal government shutdown.  What would we do without federal government spending?  Better yet, what would the piglets feeding at the government trough do without Washington D.C. boondoggles?  Here is the latest outrage courtesy of the Department of Defense.

The Department of Defense spent $43 million to build a gas station in Afghanistan that should have cost roughly $500,000, the lead oversight team monitoring U.S. spending in Afghanistan has found. The discovery came as part of a broader investigation into allegations of criminal activity within the DOD's premiere program to kick-start the Afghan economy.

The Ivy League geniuses running Washington D.C. never cease to amaze.
