Democrats fear nothing more than Americans rising up and demanding respect. One way to restore respect is to ensure an accurate count in the coming decennial census. We must separate the wheat from the chaff and the only way to do that is invoke citizenship status. If this were to come to pass, congressional districts would be realigned and the Electoral College would be diminished in states where illegal aliens reside. Ultimately, it would mean a loss of power and money for blue state Democrats. And they are fighting back.
Democrats such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez see this as nothing more than voter suppression and nativism. I thought illegal aliens weren’t allowed to vote. And since when is taking pride in citizenship a nativist act? According to AOC, illegal aliens are her constituents. Here is a little exchange between “The Boss” and Secretary Wilbur Ross:
"I'm sorry, I must reclaim my time," Ocasio-Cortez said.
"Mr. Kobach later sent an email to you on July 14, writing that the lack of the citizenship question ‘leads to the problem that aliens who do not actually reside in the United States are still counted for congressional apportionment services,'" she said.
"Of course they do reside in the United States. They reside in my district. They’re my constituents," she said of illegal aliens.
If illegal aliens were excluded from the census, I wonder if AOC would still have a job. Drinks anyone?
