The Democratic Party's Big Education Slush Fund

The Democratic Party seems to have its hand in all sorts of taxpayer funded pies. The green energy boondoggle is the latest slush fund that is being exposed. But the big Slurpee is education.

We’ve all witnessed the hysteria by the teachers union when republican state legislators threw down the gauntlet on pension and health care funding. Democrats fled their states so as to prevent a quorum. So exactly how much money is involved in Big Education? Doug Ross Journal published a startling demographic:

And that was just for high school students. Carolina Journal focused their article on Big University Education in North Carolina:

University finances

Despite the economic downturn, university funding and spending grew in 2011.

• State and federal support for higher education in North Carolina rose 6 percent between academic years 2009-10 and 2010-11.

• Two of the 99 American institutions that charged more than $50,000 for tuition, fees, room, and board in 2010-11 are located in North Carolina: Wake Forest University ($50,980) and Duke University ($51,865).

• Wake Forest ranked 5th in the nation in licensing income (income from patents) in 2009 at $95,636,362.

• Average tuition and fees at public four-year institutions in North Carolina (2009-10) were $4,559. At private four-year institutions, average tuition and fees were $23,788.

• Duke has the largest endowment in the state: $4,823,572,000.
Academics

Several North Carolina universities were among the nation’s big spenders on scientific research. Not surprisingly, those schools also received considerable funding from federal grants.

• Four of the top 100 schools in total spending for science (2009) are located in North Carolina: Duke ($805 million), UNC-Chapel Hill ($646 million), North Carolina State University ($380 million), and Wake Forest ($201 million).

• Four of the top institutions in federal dollars for science (2009) are located in North Carolina: Duke ($438 million), UNC-Chapel Hill ($431 million), Wake Forest ($144 million), and N.C. State ($135 million).

• In fiscal years 2008 and 2009, UNC-Chapel Hill constructed the most new space for science and engineering research in the country: 355,000 square feet.

• Total spending on research and development by North Carolina universities was $2.16 million in 2010-11.

I wonder how many of those federal dollars were earmarked for global warming and climate sciences. And I wonder how much money democratic politicians received from the faculty of these bastions of higher education in the form of campaign donations.

Democratic Party's Green Energy Slush Fund

Is it any wonder that green energy is all the rage in Democratic Party circles? Anybody who is somebody is in on the scam. Solar energy companies are cleaning up on guaranteed loans issued by the Department of Energy, if they are politically connected. How so do you ask? Well, here is an excerpt from the Weekly Standard:

SolarReserve LLC, a closely held renewable energy developer, received a $737 million U.S. Energy Department loan guarantee to build a solar-thermal project in Nevada.
The 110-megawatt Crescent Dunes project, near Tonopah, Nevada, will use the sun’s heat to create steam that drives a turbine, the agency said today in a e-mailed statement. SolarReserve is based in Santa Monica, California.

On
SolarReserve's website is a list of "investment partners," including the "PCG Clean Energy & Technology Fund (East) LLC." As blogger American Glob quickly discovered, PCG's number two is none other than "Ronald Pelosi, a San Francisco political insider and financial industry polymath who happens to be the brother-in-law of Nancy Pelosi, the Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives."

And if you’re from Missouri, I’ve got something to show you:

And for good measure, it's also noteworthy that Obama is about to hold a big money fundraiser at the home of Tom Carnahan in St. Louis:

Carnahan, a member of the prominent Missouri Democratic family, has been tapped by the Obama campaign as its chief Missouri fundraiser. He is chairman of the board of Wind Capital Group, a wind energy company that makes it corporate headquarters in St. Louis. He formerly was president and CEO of the company.

Last year, Wind Capital's Lost Creek Farm facility in northwest Missouri received a $107 million tax credit from the Treasury Department, among many such wind operations receiving support from from stimulus funds.

Tom Carnahan is the son of former Missouri governor Mel Carnahan and former U.S. senator Jean Carnahan. He's also the brother of current Missouri secretary of state, Robin Carnahan

Those Carnahans sure are a busy family; busy screwing over the taxpayers.

I wonder if the convenient store 7/11 can come up with a new Slurpee in honor of the Democratic Party’s new slush fund. I can envision something green and somewhat energetic.

Obama Zombies Lay Siege on Dissenters Home

Let the oceans recede and the healing begin! The community organizer’s hopey/changey policies are bringing people together in ways the messiah never prophesized. Just ask this homeowner who has the audacity to protest. A bunch of Obama zombies surrounded his house because he decided to display some signs. Even city councilors are plotting to undermine his first amendment rights.

Obama said he was the one the country was looking for. I didn’t realize the country wanted a fascist.

Massachusetts Muslim Arrested for Planned Attack on Capitol

The FBI arrested another member of the religion of peace. A Massachusetts Muslim actively planned and procured lethal weapons in order to make an attack on our nation’s capitol:

A 26-year-old Massachusetts man was arrested Wednesday and accused of plotting to blow up the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol using large remote-controlled aircraft laden with explosives, as well as attempting to assist Al Qaeda in attacking U.S. troops overseas.

Rezwan Ferdaus of Ashland, Mass., was arrested Wednesday in Framingham after undercover FBI agents delivered weapons Ferdaus allegedly sought for the alleged plan. The stash included what he thought was 25 pounds of C-4 explosives, as well as three grenades and six fully-automatic AK-47 assault, a press release from the Department of Justice reads.

All reports state that Rezqan Ferdaus is an American citizen. But was he born here? Did he become a naturalized citizen? Are we importing terrorist into our country? Of course our politically correct press didn’t provide that information. And our Justice Department is just as apologetic as the mainstream media:

"I want the public to understand that Mr. Ferdaus' conduct, as alleged in the complaint, is not reflective of a particular culture, community or religion," said Carmen Ortiz, U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts. "In addition to protecting our citizens from the threats and violence alleged today, we also have an obligation to protect members of every community, race and religion against violence and other unlawful conduct."

It’s not a reflection on a particular culture, community or religion? The hell it isn’t! At what point and time do we realize that Islam is a scourge of the earth? Probably not until they succeed in another attack. And then we will still have a bunch of morons making asinine statements like U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz.

Dems Won't Co-Sponsor Son of Stimulus

Barack Obama’s Jobs Bill was finally introduced into the House of Represents, and without one co-sponsor. The Daily Caller reports the following:

The Daily Caller has learned that Connecticut Democratic Rep. John Larson has introduced President Barack Obama’s jobs plan in the House of Representatives “at the request of the president” and that the bill has no co-sponsors.

Subsequent to The Daily Caller’s earlier reporting on Republican Rep. James Lankford of Oklahoma’s comments about the bill not being filed in the House, a senior Democratic aide told TheDC the legislation was first introduced in the Senate on Sept. 13 by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and in the House on Sept. 21 “at the request of the President.”

Both versions, H.R. 12 and S. 1549 contain the same language and have no co-sponsors.

“Members have not been asked to co-sponsor the bill. Instead, members have asked that the GOP leadership bring it up so we can address the need for job creation in this country,” a senior Democratic aide told TheDC. “We weren’t chasing co-sponsors.”’

House Speaker John Boehner’s office declined to comment on the likelihood of the legislation being considered in the House and directed TheDC to Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s office, which has yet to respond.

The democrats didn’t chase co-sponsors because nobody wants to kiss this lipstick laden pig. The first Stimulus Bill was a stinker. And nobody wants to roll in the mud with fat sow.

Department of Energy's Billion Dollar Babies

The Department of Energy is at it again. They just approved another billion dollar boondoggle to shady green energy companies:

Update: The Energy Department on Wednesday approved federal loan guarantees for two green energy projects totaling more than $1 billion. It approved $337 million for a Mesquite Solar project in Arizona and $737 million for a Solar Reserve project in Nevada. The projects would create a total of 52-55 permanent jobs, according to earlier DOE figures and company statements. That's about $20 million per permanent job.

$20 million per job! This is an outrage. The DOE throws money around as if it grows on trees. They obviously have no regard for taxpayer largess. After all, they didn’t work for that money.

And here is a tribute to those billion dollar babies. Soon to be trillion dollar babies:

Gov. Beverly Perdue Polishes Gem of Stupidity

The Pride of North Carolina has just gained the national spotlight. Governor Beverly Perdue polished a gem of stupidity so bright that the blind have to wear shades:

"I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that," Perdue said. "You want people who don't worry about the next election."

The only people who don’t worry about elections are entrenched democrats and dictators. And Beverly Perdue is in her first term as governor. But she isn’t the only libtard advocating an authoritarian state. Peter Orszag, Obama’s former director of the Office of Management and Budget, is also advocating a government run by elites:

In an 1814 letter to John Taylor, John Adams wrote that “there never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.” That may read today like an overstatement, but it is certainly true that our democracy finds itself facing a deep challenge: During my recent stint in the Obama administration as director of the Office of Management and Budget, it was clear to me that the country’s political polarization was growing worse—harming Washington’s ability to do the basic, necessary work of governing. If you need confirmation of this, look no further than the recent debt-limit debacle, which clearly showed that we are becoming two nations governed by a single Congress—and that paralyzing gridlock is the result.

So what to do? To solve the serious problems facing our country, we need to minimize the harm from legislative inertia by relying more on automatic policies and depoliticized commissions for certain policy decisions. In other words, radical as it sounds, we need to counter the gridlock of our political institutions by making them a bit less democratic.

First of all, we are not a democracy; we are a constitutional republic. Second, the only way to depoliticize governmental commissions and policies is to do away with ideologies, and you can damn well bet Peter Orszag and his fellow totalitarians won’t be the ones committing harry carry. No…they want conservatives to put sword to belly.

The progressives are desperate. They no longer hide behind the mask of populism. They’re losing power and are openly advocating the overthrow of our republic, because that is what they really want. And if you take a deep whiff, you can smell their fear. It kind of smells like…victory.

E.U. Climate Chief Aghast GOP Presidential Contenders not Worshippers at The Green Church

The European Union’s head climate chief trickster is stunned that republican presidential candidates aren’t buying the crud that global warming worshippers are propagating:

European Union climate chief Connie Hedegaard is disposing of diplomatic niceties when describing U.S. political battles over climate change.

“I’m shocked that the political debate in the U.S. is so far away from the scientific facts,” she said,
according to The Copenhagen Post.

“When more than 90 percent of researchers in the field are saying that we have to take [climate change] seriously, it is incredibly irresponsible to ignore it. It’s hard for a European to understand how it has become so fashionable to be anti-science in the U.S.,” Hedegaard said in the Post account, which reprints comments she made to the Danish paper Politiken.

“And when you hear American presidential candidates denying climate change, it’s difficult to take,” she said.

And how many of those 90 percenters are dependent upon the confiscation of other people’s wealth? Who is funding their research and paying their salaries?

We conservatives are aware of Climategate and the demonization of dissident scientist. We are not congregants to the Green Church of Totalitarianism. Or, in consideration of E.U. immigration policy: a mosque.

EPA Demands Billions for Army of Bureaucrats

The Environmental Protection Agency is demanding $21 billion from the American Taxpayer, so they can hire 230,000 bureaucrats. They need this army of authoritarians in order to enslave us in their lair of red tape:

The EPA aims to regulate greenhouse gas emissions through the Clean Air Act, even though the law doesn’t give the EPA explicit power to do so. The agency’s authority to move forward is being challenged in court by petitioners who argue that such a decision should be left for Congress to make.

The proposed regulations would set greenhouse gas emission thresholds above which businesses must file for an EPA permit and complete extra paperwork in order to continue operating. If the EPA wins its court battle and fully rolls out the greenhouse gas regulations, the number of businesses forced into this regulatory regime would grow tremendously — from approximately 14,000 now to as many as 6.1 million.

These new regulatory efforts are not likely to succeed, the EPA admits, but it has decided to move forward regardless. “While EPA acknowledges that come 2016, the administrative burdens may still be so great that compliance … may still be absurd or impossible to administer at that time, that does not mean that the Agency is not moving toward the statutory thresholds,” the EPA wrote in a September 16 court briefing.

Aren’t these people the most arrogant bunch of bastards you’ve ever seen? When are we going to wake up and abolish this rogue agency?

Fayetteville Observer Chucks Truth Under the Bus

I’m beginning to believe that all newspapers in North Carolina are liberal rags. The Charlotte Observer published an editorial by the Fayetteville Observer entitled, “State Budget Chucks Many Services Under the Bus”. And here is how this article leads off:

Which of North Carolina's schools for the deaf do you plan to close? Or would you prefer to shut down a school for the blind, instead?

The choice is real, but don't complain. At least you were offered a voice this time. So which will it be? The Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf, in Wilson, or the North Carolina School for the Deaf, in Morganton? No dawdling, because if neither is chosen you can kiss the Governor Morehead School for the Blind goodbye.

That isn't conjecture. It's the law - our newly right-sized, fiscally responsible state budget.

Are you shocked? Are you shamed? Poor little deaf and blind kids are about to be denied an education by those evil republican state legislatures.

I can hear it now: Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?

But what the scumbag editors at the Fayetteville Disturber didn’t tell you is that these three residential schools have only 220 students. That is about 73 students per school. Would it not be cost effective to consolidate? Apparently, not to the spendthrifts at the Fayetteville Disturber.

Let’s explore this feigned outrage even further. Not only is the North Carolina GOP children haters; they also despise the mentally ill:

There was a warning of another sort when, earlier this year, the federal government ordered the state to stop using Medicaid to warehouse people with mental illnesses among the residents of elder-care homes. There was a deadline, now past. If those homes lose their Medicaid eligibility, both the mentally ill and many seniors will be left with nothing.

Unfortunately, that was only the insult, not the injury. Along with public schools and the pre-kindergarten program, lawmakers had already targeted funding for mental health programs as well. These are the same programs that have been struggling to restore stability to a system that has been reeling from poor judgment and insufficient resources for a decade.

Let's tally up. That takes care of the mentally ill, the poor, the elderly, the sick, preschoolers, K-12 students and ... Oh yes: Will it be the visually impaired, or the hearing-impaired?

Do the editors at the Disturber consider fraud poor judgment? I know perpetrators consider taxpayer largess to be insufficient, as would many bank robbers. Many of these “warehouses” have been committing fraud since the inception of Medicaid:

As many as 1,200 mentally ill adults, scores of them living in the Lake Norman area, could be forced out of assisted-living facilities as the state tries to enforce a Medicaid rule concerning mental health care centers.

The rule requires assisted-living facilities with more than 16 beds have no more than half of their residents diagnosed with a mental illness. The rule is decades old, but the state is now asking the homes to comply or fall under the designation of “institution of mental disease.” Mentally ill residents in those facilities cannot receive Medicaid funding.

To comply with the state’s new initiative, officials say assisted-living facilities will have to kick out mentally ill residents into an already overstretched mental health system that is not prepared to handle the deluge.

“It’s a disaster in the making,” said Deby Dihoff, state executive director of the National Alliance for Mentally Illness, “because we’re catching up with decades of neglect in the housing options for the mental ill at a time when there are few beds and no money to increase those options.”

The Medicaid law, passed in 1965, had the provision regarding assisted-living facilities. North Carolina, however, looked the other way and allowed the mentally ill to fill those beds because it eased waiting lists and opened up beds in its psychiatric hospitals across the state, said Amy Hart, owner and administrator of Hunter Village assisted-living center in Huntersville and Crown Colony in Mooresville.

Looked the other way? They were defrauding the taxpayers! And I want to know what these teat suckers consider mentally ill. I have hundreds of examples of people, companies, and hospitals who’ve screwed over the citizens of this state via Medicaid. And I wouldn’t doubt that many of these “warehousers” have committed their share of padding the books. Hell, what am I saying they committed fraud!

But what is the law to the editors of the Fayetteville and Charlotte Disturbers. They only care about scoring political points and redistributing the wealth.

Sen. Harry Reid: House Republicans Have Moved Further to Tea Party

Late last night the House passed a stopgap measure that would avoid a government shutdown. The republican leadership embarrassed itself earlier this week, when they tried to shove through a continuing resolution that was antithetical to conservative principles. 48 republicans put a stop to that. Now the bill will go to the senate, where Dingy Harry awaits to squash it.

The Senate majority leader is angry that the tea party scrapped the Department of Energy’s boondoggle green energy loans. That money will be used to offset FEMA expenses.

“The bill the House will vote on tonight is not an honest effort at compromise. It fails to provide the relief that our fellow Americans need as they struggle to rebuild their lives in the wake of floods, wildfires and hurricanes, and it will be rejected by the Senate,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said in a statement Thursday night before the House vote.

“I was optimistic that my House Republican colleagues would learn from their failure yesterday and move towards the middle. Instead, they moved even further towards the Tea Party.”

Reid said the Senate was ready to stay in session next week, potentially canceling its scheduled recess. The House bill would fund the government through Nov. 18

If Harry Reid thinks the Republican Party has moved closer to tea party ideals, than I can’t wait to see his reaction when November 2012 comes along.

Tea Party Defeats Republican Establishment Continuing Resolution

The Republican Party establishment never fails to disappoint. Speaker Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor tried to push through a continuing resolution that would keep funding suspect programs that are antithetical to conservative principles:

An analysis of the CR published by the conservative House Republican Study Committee, said that it “continues funding for the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA), the UN agency known for its involvement in China’s brutal one-child policy. It also continues $300 million in annual funding to the Title X family planning program, which is a prime funding source for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.”

The study-committee analysis pointed out that in addition to permitting funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading abortion provider, the Republican-leadership-backed CR also permitted more than $2 billion in additional funding for domestic birth control and international population control through Medicaid and foreign aid programs.

“Note that Medicaid also provides $1.4 billion in family planning assistance to low income individuals,” said the analysis. “The CR also continues to provide international population control funds at a rate of $575 million per year.”

48 House conservatives joined democrats to defeat this bill in a 195 – 230 vote. Democrats voted against the continuing resolution because of FEMA concerns and lack of funding for government motors and environmental boondoggles.

All I have to say is thank God for the tea party. They’re the only ones holding the D.C. establishment into account.

Gov. Rick Perry's Tin Man Immigration Policy

If I only had a heart!

Rick Perry thinks Americans like me are tin men, because we believe allowing illegal aliens access to our public schools and giving them in-state tuition only encourages a mass migration from the third world. The Texas governor believes that if we don’t educate them, they will become a drag on society.

I ask who has more of a heart: me or the governor. He allowed them to come into this country. He educated them, and now they can’t get a job, because they are illegitimate. So now we have an educated illegal, whining and moaning because they are in limbo. What’s worse, they are a people without a country, thanks to their law breaking, illegal alien parents.

Perry’s contention that his policies are a state’s rights issue is patently false. I live in North Carolina. I’ve seen plenty of Texas license plates in this state and at construction sites. And almost every damn one of them is an illegal alien. How do I know? Because, I’ve yet to meet one who can speak passable English.

Perry makes the assertion that a fence is not a viable option. Maybe he should visit Israel and gaze upon the 8th wonder of the world.

Unmasking Data Manipulation by Politicians

Politicians manipulate data all the time. It’s nice to see a video that puts their machinations into perspective.

Teacher Equates Enforcement of Immigration Laws to Nazism

Is it any wonder that young people don’t value citizenship when we have teachers like this guy? The love of God, family, and country have been abolished from our public schools. Perversity, dissention, and a general self-loathing are the new norms in the classroom.

The aforementioned teacher likened the enforcement of law to Nazism. He believes that illegal aliens have just as much right to taxpayer largess as citizens, and therefore will not help rid his community of this invading scourge. Being an informant is to besmirch his integrity. Well, I wonder if he has the same standards when it comes to religion and free speech.

Just recently, a child was suspended for vocally opposing homosexuality in a private conversation with a classmate. A teacher overheard him and had that student suspended. When children read Bibles on their lunch break or wear crosses around their necks; teachers don’t have a problem informing and suspending them on the false premise of separation of church and state. It seems to me that teachers are well practiced in that art of snitching.

No, educators like this guy don’t have a problem being an informant. What they have a problem with is being an American.

North Carolina Democrats Throw Their Heritage Under the Bus

North Carolina democrats have just thrown their heritage under the bus. The annual Vance-Aycock dinner is no more. The two ex-revered democratic Governors no longer emblazon the masthead of the western state fund raiser. It’s now called the Western Gala.

Why did this storied state party abolish the two most famous democrats in its history? Here is a short synopsis by the Winston-Salem Journal:

Zebulon Vance was a veteran of the Confederate army who also served as governor during the Civil War. But most of the criticism centered on Charles Aycock, who served as governor from 1901 to 1905.

Aycock is remembered as a strong proponent of public schools, which led to his being known as "the Education Governor." His name adorns schools and other public buildings across the state, and a statue depicting him stands on the grounds of the old state Capitol.

But he was also
a leader of the "White Supremacy Campaign" in 1898, which dislodged the black and white Republicans and Populist Party members who controlled state politics. Aycock oversaw the codification of some of North Carolina's earliest Jim Crow laws, and the 1898 election led to a bloody uprising against Republican leadership in Wilmington in which white mobs killed scores of people.

"With that kind of record, it's very hard to make those kinds of guys your patron saints in the contemporary context," said
Harry Watson, director of the Center for the Study of the American South at UNC Chapel Hill.

"The black Democrats are angry and the white Democrats are embarrassed, and probably also angry, at the idea of the party continuing to venerate
Charles Aycock when he was elected to office campaigning in favor of disenfranchisement and in favor of violence to support it," he said.

Now we are in a conundrum. Our nation’s capitol allows each state to display two statues of their most revered citizens. And guess who represents North Carolina? That’s right: Zebulon Vance and Charles Aycock. Can we expect a recall? Here is a brief description by the National Statuary Hall:

Charles Brantley Aycock was born on November 1, 1859, on a farm near Fremont in Wayne County, North Carolina. Though his father died when he was 15, his mother and older brothers recognized his abilities and determined that he should go to college. After graduating from the University of North Carolina in 1880 with first honors in both oratory and essay writing, he entered law practice in Goldsboro and supplemented his income by teaching school. His success in both fields led to his appointment as superintendent of schools for Wayne County and to service on the school board in Goldsboro.

His political career began in 1888 as a presidential elector for Grover Cleveland, when he gained distinction as an orator and political debater. From 1893 to 1897 he served as U.S. attorney for the eastern district of North Carolina, and he was elected governor in 1900. His greatest achievement in office was in education, to which he was dedicated after watching his mother make her mark when signing a deed. He felt that no lasting social reform could be accomplished without education. He supported increased salaries for teachers, longer school terms, and new school buildings; almost 3000 schools were built during his administration. Other reforms he supported included laws to establish fair election machinery, to prevent lynching, to erect a reformatory for boys, and to restrict child labor.

He resumed his law practice in 1905, but in 1911 he yielded to pressure to seek the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate. He died on April 4, 1912, while campaigning.

And now Zebulon Vance:

Zebulon Vance was born on May 13, 1830, in Buncombe County, North Carolina. Forced to withdraw from college in 1844 when his father died, he later studied law at the University of North Carolina from 1851 to 1852. He received his county court license, settled in Asheville, and was soon elected county solicitor. He served in the North Carolina House of Commons in 1854 and in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1858 to 1861. Though he supported the constitutionality of secession, he was an ardent Unionist, not favoring secession until President Lincoln called for troops in 1861. He then organized and served with the Rough and Ready Guards.

Elected governor in 1862, he worked during the war to insure legality in the harsh conscription practices of the Confederacy and to guarantee protection of the law to North Carolinians. After being arrested at the end of the war and being briefly imprisoned, he returned to his law practice. Though elected to the Senate in 1870, he could not serve because he had not yet been pardoned. As governor from 1877 to 1879, he worked to revive the state's economy, agriculture, and industry and to improve schools.

From 1879 until his death he served in the U.S. Senate, where he was a popular and effective mediator between North and South. Hard work undermined his health and led to the loss of one eye. He died in Washington, D.C., on April 14, 1894, and after services in the Senate Chamber was buried in Asheville, North Carolina.

Lady Elizabeth Warren Uses Class Warfare to Anger Peasantry

It looks like another northeastern libtard is using class warfare to obtain a position of power and wealth. Elizabeth Warren covets Scott Brown’s Massachusetts senate seat. And she will pander to the base emotions of the vulnerable and needy to get it.

In the above video, Elizabeth Warren chastises the entrepreneurs who build factories and create jobs. She believes that these greedy bastards exploit the resources such as roads and bridges that the yokels helped to build with their taxes. But the one ingredient that Lady Warren omitted is that the “peasants” wouldn’t be able to fund their community’s infrastructure without the jobs that these so-called vultures provide. And now, with the progressive income tax, many of these “victimized” workers no longer help to pay those roads and bridges that these evil, robber barons exploit.

The country is sick and tired of these class warriors. I’m hoping the same is with Massachusetts.

Rick Perry's Awesome Campaign Ad

I have to tip my hat to Rick Perry’s campaign team. This is an awesome ad. But, something is amiss. I just can’t put my finger on it. Well, let’s take a look at some other pro-Perry videos to get a better understanding of what is missing:

or maybe this one:

I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe I should review these two videos again to figure out why they have more umph than Perry's over-produced campaign ad.

California City Imposes Jizya Tax on Christians

Christians around the world are under attack. In the Middle East, their churches are being burned to the ground and some have lost their lives. Since the Arab spring began, a tax called the jizya is under consideration for all non-Muslims.

A city in Orange County, California has levied their form of a Christian tax:

MISSION VIEJO (CBS) — An Orange County couple has been ordered to stop holding a Bible study in their home on the grounds that the meeting violates a city ordinance as a “church” and not as a private gathering.

Homeowners Chuck and Stephanie Fromm, of San Juan Capistrano, were fined $300 earlier this month for holding what city officials called “a regular gathering of more than three people”.

That type of meeting would require a conditional use permit as defined by the city, according to Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), the couple’s legal representation.

The Fromms also reportedly face subsequent fines of $500 per meeting for any further “religious gatherings” in their home, according to PJI.

“We’re just gathering and enjoying each other’s company and fellowship. And we enjoy studying God’s word.” Stephanie Fromm told CBS2

I wonder when we can expect church burnings in the City of San Juan Capristrano. Why not? It’s all the vogue in Arab countries. And we know liberals despise Christians as much as Muslims.

Obama Czar Toady Grants UAW a Sweet Contract

While the rest of the country is glad to have a job in this uncertain economy, there is one group of workers who’re raking in the cash:

DETROIT (AP) -- The United Auto Workers union won $5,000 signing bonuses and the possibility of sweeter profit-sharing checks as part of a new four-year contract with General Motors Co., two people briefed on the talks said Saturday.

The deal, which was reached late Friday, also includes a $2- to $3-per-hour pay raise for entry-level workers over the life of the contract and guarantees more union jobs, the people said.

Now mind you, entry level jobs start at $14 - $16 per hour. And to add insult to injury General Motors still owes the American taxpayer for the $49.5 billion bailout from two years ago. These bastards remind me of the “friend” who borrows money and instead of paying you back; they buy a brand new flat screen television, and then proudly shows it off right in front of your face.

But what can you expect, when the CEO of General Motors is a handpicked toady by Obama’s “Car Czar”. Negotiations can be a little lopsided when the fox is in the hen house.

Dhimmitude in Toronto

Political Correctness and dhimmitude go hand and hand . Listen to this man's tale of how a Muslim woman assaulted him for taking pictures in a public square and how the authorities blantantly subverted his quest for justice.

Charlotte Observer Snickers at Rep. Sue Myricks 9/11 Concerns

The editors at the Charlotte Observer can never claim that they hold the high ground when it comes to ethics and unbiased critique of hot political topics. I have caught them on occasion editing out and adding information to Associated Press articles and editorials by other newspapers. So, when these liberals/socialist/progressives or whatever they wish to call themselves, decide to attack a congresswoman who is concerned for the safety of herself and constituents, I have to wonder why. First, let’s take a look at their sarcastic editorial:

U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick's cancellation of all her 9/11 events last week raises at least two significant questions:

Is Myrick paranoid, or politically savvy?

And:

What kind of country do we want to be?

At first blush, it appears Myrick, a Charlotte Republican, suffers significant paranoia, and so we should feel sorry for her. Consider: Myrick cancelled all four of her appearances at 9/11 anniversary events because her name appeared, with close to a couple dozen others, in a story on the website of an Iranian TV station. The story was not the work of an al-Qaida leader or Iranian terrorist. It was a summary of a report that an American think tank had produced weeks earlier, with entire sections of the report copied and pasted.

Myrick said she had been told of the story by unnamed intelligence sources, and she called it threatening. She said "a couple of others" were also named, and that the article implicitly encouraged readers to harm those mentioned in the story.

The poor woman. There wasn't a word suggesting violence against Myrick or anyone else. The story was a banal rehash of a well-researched, 138-page report by the liberal Center for American Progress in Washington detailing the network of funders, politicians, media and others who cast all Muslims as violent jihadists. Myrick is a bit player in the story, and none of the others apparently cancelled a 9/11 appearance. Check out the center's report at bit.ly/p29sH5 and the Iranian summary of it at
www.presstv.ir/detail/196918.html.h

Rep. Sue Myrick sits on the intelligence committee. She is privy to national security concerns, unlike that anti-freedom think tank Center for American Progress. Leave it to the editors of the Charlotte Disturber to take the word of an organization known for outright lies in order to discredit a conservative republican.

And to emphasize the distortions of these hacks, let’s take a look at an article published by one of their own reporters:

U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick canceled all of her appearances at 9/11 anniversary events Sunday, saying her name had recently turned up in a threatening Iranian state newspaper article.

"It's very hard for me to stay home (Sunday), because I have worked very hard on these (homeland security) issues from the beginning," the nine-term Charlotte congresswoman told the Observer. "But I didn't want to put anybody else in jeopardy in case some nut out there decided to do something."

Myrick, a House Intelligence Committee member who has been outspoken about the threat of radical Islamists, said she was told by intelligence sources that her name was on a state-sanctioned list published last week in Iran.

"It named some individuals they don't like ... people they said were working against (them)," said Myrick, who added that the list also included "a couple of others" - including other members of Congress - "who work on the (terrorism) issue." She said she didn't want to name the others.

She said the decision to cancel was hers, "after talking to people whose opinion I respect."

The article implicitly encouraged readers to harm those on the list, she said. And after the January shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and multiple bystanders, "I was very uncomfortable" at the prospect of possibly endangering others, Myrick said.

And I believe I can comfortably say that Rep. Sue Myrick, and a whole hell of a lot of citizens in the Queen City area, don’t respect the opinions of the editors at the Charlotte Observer

Syrian Muslim Dogs to Feed on Christian Meat

We’ve all heard the mantra: first Saturday, then Sunday. And this so-called Arab spring is fulfilling that threat. Christians in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya are being murdered and their churches burnt to the ground. The same is happening in Syria. An exiled Muslim cleric is encouraging mass murder:

(ANSAmed) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 16 - A Syrian sheikh who has been exiled to Saudi Arabia and has become one of the voices of the uprising against Assad, urges his followers, in television sermons that have been broadcast in Syria as well, to ''tear apart, chop up and feed'' the meat of all supporters of the current regime ''to the dogs,'' including all Christians. The fundamentalist turn part of the Syrian opposition is taking is denounced on the website Terrasanta.net, of the Franciscan Custody.

Is it any wonder that dictators are rampant throughout the Arab world? It takes a beast master to heel a bunch of wild dogs.

Rep. Louie Gohmert Exposes Obama's American Jobs Act

Rep. Louie Gohmert exposed the Obama adminstrations sorry excuse of a jobs bill. And to emphasize the incompetence of the Anointed One, Gohmert filed his bill after waiting three days for the democrats to submit the presidents.

I still don't believe the democrats have submitted Obama's class warfare bill in the House. This is just another dog and pony show.

Republican Weekly Address: Washington Has Become a Red Tape Factory

Rep. Peter Roskam of the 6th district of Illinois made this weeks republican address. The chief deputy whip voiced his concerns about an oppressive federal bureaucracy that has become a red tape factory. And don't we know it.

It looks like one party has woke up.

Obama Pushes Jobs Bill Canard

Obama used his weekly address to push his non-existent jobs bill. Why is it non-existent? Because no one in the House of Representatives has sponsored it. According to Article One, Section Seven all bills of revenue must originate in the House.

But putting that aside, it looks as though our commander-in-thief didn’t learn his lesson from the original federal boondoggle. Now, he is promoting Son of Stimulus. When is this horror show going to end?

What really irks me is how clueless this guy is. Obama seems to think that all construction workers are skilled in road and bridge building. And just how many schools need to be renovated? This is not a sustainable plan.

And why is the federal government involved in local issues like the hiring of firefighters, teachers and policemen? And how do they propose funding all of these municipalities? There has to be hundreds of thousands cities, towns, and villages throughout this country. Is it any wonder that this nation is bankrupt?

Obama then states that his plan will cut taxes for businesses who will hire new workers. I’m sure they would like to hire new people, but tax breaks don’t make up for rampant federal regulations and mandates. Who in the hell wants to hire in a hostile environment, especially when owners are uncertain of what that new employee might cost.

To top it off, the clueless one will cut payroll taxes for those of us lucky enough to have a job. So now, Social Security will run even higher deficits. Just how sustainable is that?

If this is what an Ivy League education brings us? And just think, our government institutions are infested with this kind of ideology.

Bullies Steal Preschoolers Lunch Money

When I think of bullying, fraud and abuse, the federal government always seems to come to mind. Now, we have a program where preschoolers are having their lunch money stolen:

Audits by the New York State Health Department and the federal Agriculture Department since 2005 revealed a pattern of false submissions to the Agriculture Department, including lying about how many children were getting the meals, the complaint charges. For example, the complaint says, in January 2009, Ms. Fan submitted records claiming that 188 children had consumed 4,700 meals and snacks, when other records showed that 116 children ate 2,900 meals and snacks.

The complaint charges that in 2008, Ms. Fan issued a check for $200,000 from the federal lunch money account to make personal condominium payments, and also withdrew $110,000 to pay her personal income taxes. Between 2005 and 2010, the complaint asserts, $2.7 million went to Supermarnet, a company Mr. Shen owned, to provide meals to the preschoolers. But the complaint said invoices indicate the company spent only $24,000 for food during that period.

In all, according to the complaint, Ms. Fan stole approximately $1.8 million of program funds in 2008 and 2009. She acknowledged in a written statement to the Agriculture Department that she had taken the money, but stated that she had “borrowed” it, the complaint charged.

Just add this despicable act to one of many.

Solyndra: A Case Study of Doomed Crony Socialist Venturism

Crony capitalism is alive and well in the Obama administration. For all of you Marxist out there who clapped and cheered for the worker utopian paradise promised by the Anointed One’s rhetorical mastery; guess what? You’ve been duped.

The hottest scandal is not the Fast and Furious program that also plagues this 2nd amendment hating regime. No, that can be forgiven by the socialist who support Obama. What cannot be forgiven is his hypocrisy on corporatism. And Solyndra is the fish tail slapping the face of all the capitalist hating ideologues in the Democratic Party.

Solyndra not only screwed the taxpayers out of a half billion dollars in Department of Energy guaranteed loans; it has come to alight that an additional $469 million was also promised by the DOE in an SEC filing by this bankrupt company:

A close look by LA Observed at the company's SEC filings shows that it also was seeking additional DOE loan guarantees of $469 million for Phase II of its so-called Fab 2 solar power manufacturing facility in Fremont. And, get this, DOE - according to Solyndra's Dec. 18, 2009 application for SEC approval to sell common stock - tentatively gave this 2nd loan application its approval. Here's the story right from Solyndra's own S-1:

"On September 11, 2009, we submitted Part 1 of an application for an approximately $469 million guaranteed loan to be utilized to finance the construction of Phase II. As with the financing facility for Phase I, the loan would be made by the Federal Financing Bank and guaranteed by the DOE. On November 4, 2009, we were notified by the DOE that our Part 1 application was complete and that Phase II was determined to be a Section 1703 eligible project and to have the credit subsidy cost for the project paid out of funds allocated under Section 1705. We submitted Part 2 of our loan guarantee application on November 17, 2009."

Solyndra is the gift that keeps on giving. Can you imagine how many other socialist venture programs that have been doomed to failure? And all at the expense of taxpayers.

The EPA and Sackett Saga

Are you thinking about building your dream home? Did you get the proper permits required by law? But more importantly did you consult the EPA? If you didn’t, you had better take heed and hear the tale of the fabled Sackett saga:

Four years ago the Sacketts were filling in their lot with dirt and rock, preparing to build a simple three-bedroom home in a neighborhood where other houses have stood for years. Then three federal officials showed up and demanded they stop construction. The agency claimed the .63-acre lot was a wetland, protected under the Clean Water Act.

The Sacketts say they were stunned. The owners of an excavation company, they had secured all the necessary local permits. And Chantell Sackett says that before work began, she drove two hours to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to consult with an Army Corps of Engineers official. She says the official told her orally, though not in writing, that she didn’t need a federal permit. “We did all the right things,” she says.

The EPA issued an order requiring the Sacketts to put the land back the way it was, removing the piles of fill material and replanting the vegetation they had cleared away. The property was to be fenced off and the Sacketts would be required to submit annual reports about its condition to the EPA. The agency threatened to fine them up to $32,500 a day until they complied.

If you didn’t think that federal bureaucrats looked down upon you as the “little people”, than you haven’t shrunk enough.

Islamofascist Strike Down Vital FBI Program

Political correctness has struck again. This time it’s the FBI who has been beaten down by the Islamofascist. CAIR and other subversive caliphate front groups succeeded once again at striking down a vital program that’s designed to protect Americans from the blood cult of Muhammad:

The FBI on Thursday said it had stopped a training session that called the Prophet Muhammad a “cult leader,” said mainstream Muslims were likely to support violent extremism and described the Islamic principal of charity as a “funding mechanism for combat.”

The content of the training session set off a wave of concern among Muslims across the nation who had been trying to help authorities battle homegrown terrorism.

An FBI spokesman confirmed on Thursday that the agency did host one training session six months ago that described Muslims as more likely to be violent as they increased in devotion to their faith. Slides from the training session, confirmed as accurate by the FBI and
posted online by Wired magazine, show a graph illustrating how followers of other Abrahamic faiths have become more nonviolent since their inceptions, but Muslims have not.

The lesson painted Islam as a religion that promotes and supports violence, extensively citing references to assassinations, centuries-old wars and verses from the Quran. It emphasized killing, torture and holy war as central tenets of the faith.

A prior FBI lesson included descriptions of Islam as a religion that was “hard for Westerners to understand” and that “transforms (a) country’s culture into 7th century Arabian ways.”

The FBI lesson was part of “stage two” of training for counter-terrorism agents, agency spokesman Christopher Allen said. It was one lesson out of a two-week course, he said.

Muslims are more likely to commit violence as they increase in devotion to their faith? That is an understatement. Anyone who has eyes can see that this so-called religion is a scourge to man-kind. Yeah, let’s let the enemy of freedom loving peoples dictate our national security. Idiots!

Rep. Jan Schakowsky Doesn't Believe You Are Entitled to Your Money

What is it with these Marxist politicians from Illinois? Rep. Jan Schakowsky (Dem) revealed her statist leanings during a radio interview. She doesn’t believe that you deserve to keep what you earn.

Every time one of these slimy politicians gets caught in the crosshairs by a fiscally concerned citizen, they demand to know why we shouldn’t fund firefighters, policeman and teachers. My question is what in the hell is the federal government doing intruding on a local issue. Local governments should determine the pay of their public servants not a D.C. politician.

And everyone is wondering why this country is drowning in debt.

Israeli Foreign Minister Details Palestinian Intransigence

The Israeli Foreign Minister produced a video that explains the Palestinian and Jewish conflict. This video debunks the myth that Arabs are victims of a Zionist plot to disinherit them of their lands. If anything, the Palestinians have been hostile and intransigent in all peace negotiations dating back to the formation of the Israeli state.

So the next time you encounter another Israel basher, send him this video.

EPA Scams Taxpayers with Justice Grants

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy have degenerated into conduits that promote the progressive agenda. An agenda that is hostile to liberty and free market principles. And as usual, Liberals fund their nefarious activities with guaranteed loans and grants disguised in benign code words like environmental justice:

Many of these justice grants, however, have been issued through Environmental Justice Small Grants Program, which started in 1994 and has awarded more than $21 million in funding to 1,200 local organizations for environmental justice. In 2010, the Obama administration distributed $1.9 million, more than another year in over a decade.

At the beginning of this year, the EPA awarded another
$7 million to “scientists around the country,” as part of the Science to Achieve Results (STAR) research grants program, to study how pollution affects “poor and underserved communities.” (RELATED: Obama administration marches forward with green agenda despite Solyndra scandal)

“EPA made a public commitment in 2010 to take action to address contributors to disproportionate environmental health impacts,” said Dr. Paul Anastas, assistant administrator for EPA’s Office of Research and Development in a statement. “This research could pave the way for more interdisciplinary work that is responsive to community concerns and environmental justice.”

In August, the EPA awarded $6.2 million to low-income neighborhoods in national environmental
workforce development and job training grants “to recruit, train, and place unemployed, predominantly low-income residents in polluted areas.”

“We’re looking to the people and community organizations who know these areas best to find the places where green jobs and environmental protection are going to do the most good,” said Jackson in a statement. “Creating good green jobs proves that we don’t have to choose between cleaning up our air and our water or creating jobs in our communities. We’re showing that it’s possible to do both at the same time.”

I wonder what kind of community organizations are being employed to promote this particular brand of justice? Could it be a group like ACORN or one of its bastards? This is nothing but a scam.

When Will the Fools at Bloomberg News Don the Motley?

At what point in time does Bloomberg News wise up and EXPECT bad unemployment numbers? Here they are again, reporting the “unexpected” bad jobs report:

Applications for U.S. unemployment benefits unexpectedly rose last week to the highest level since the end of June, underscoring the risk of further weakness in the labor market.

Jobless claims climbed by 11,000 to 428,000 in the week ended Sept. 10 that included the Labor Day holiday, figures from the Labor Department showed today in Washington. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg News projected a drop in claims to 411,000, according to the median forecast.

These reports have been consistent since the beginning of the year. Shouldn’t the reporters and editors at Bloomberg News expect bad job numbers by now? At what point in time do these fools don the motley?

Obama's Brown Shirt Website: Attack Watch

Obama’s campaign twerps have set up a brown shirt inspired website called Attack Watch. If you’re a Libtard and need to rat on your neighbors, family, or friends this website is for you.

What’s it called? ATTACK WATCH!!

A place where insecure fascist can suppress free speech and ideas that conflict with their own ideology.

Solyndra is the Epitome of a Public/Private Partnership

Solyndra is another example of how a public/private partnership is doomed to failure. ABC News (surprisingly) reported the following:

The new probe involves the $535 million loan, arranged by the Energy Department, but actually processed by the Federal Financing Bank, a government lending institution that falls under Treasury's control. Already, the FBI and the Energy Department's inspector general have executed search warrants at Solyndra's headquarters and questioned company executives.

"We're going to look at everything the FFB had to do with its role in this thing," Rich Delmar, a spokesman for the Treasury Department's inspector general, told ABC News and iWatch News.

Earlier this month, iWatch News and ABC News disclosed that Solyndra received a rock-bottom interest rate of 1 to 2 percent -- lower than those affixed to other Energy Department green energy projects. The low rate was set even as an outside agency, Fitch Rating, scored Solyndra as a B+ -- "speculative" -- investment. Energy Department officials said the bank set the rate, based on formulas including the payout length, and that Solyndra did not receive special treatment.

You would’ve thought that the monstrous failure of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would put an end to the plaudits of crony capitalism. But here we are again, with the taxpayers bending over and grabbing their ankles, while the politicians and bureaucrats stuff their pockets and lord their power over we plebeians.

Will Solyndra Become Obama's Teapot Dome Scandal

Will Solyndra become the Teapot Dome Scandal of the Obama administration? It certainly has the stench of corruption that tainted Warren G. Harding’s presidency. Here is a footnote of abrasive crony capitalism:

The Scandal: One of the politicians who opposed the conservation was Senator Albert B. Fall who became Warren Harding's Secretary of the Interior in 1921. Fall, upon becoming the Secretary of the Interior, convinced Secretary of the Navy Edwin Denby to turn the control of the oil fields over to him. Fall then moved to lease the Teapot Dome to Harry Sinclair's Mammoth Oil Company and the Elk Hills reserve to Edward Doheny's Pan American Petroleum Company. In return for leasing these oil fields to the respective oil magnates Fall received "gifts" from the oilmen totaling about $400,000. Fall attempted to keep actions secret but his sudden improvements in standard of living drew speculation. The scandal was first revealed to the public in 1924 after findings by a committee of the U. S. Senate. The individual within the Senate who took charge of investigating the alleged wrongdoing by Fall was Thomas J. Walsh, a democrat from Montana. Albert Fall had made legitimate leases of the oil fields to the private companies but the taking of money was his undoing.

The Solyndra scandal goes all the way up to the president himself. A major investor in the company was a bundler for Obama’s campaign. And now it is being revealed that other green energy companies are cashing in:

On September 7, the [Department of Energy] announced its plan to guarantee 80 percent — or $275 million — of a $344 million private loan taken out by the firm SolarCity. The company installs rooftop solar systems that harvests electricity SolarCity then sells.

The guarantee means that if SolarCity’s project does not succeed, the DOE will use taxpayer money to pay back 80 percent of the company’s private loans.

And here is another company sucking off of the taxpayer teat:

Solexel is financially backed by venture capitalist Steve Westly. In 2008, Westly bundled for Obama’s presidential campaign, bringing in more than $500,000. Westly also served as a California co-chair and was a member of the National Finance Committee for the Obama for American campaign.

He’s at it again for the president’s 2012 re-election campaign. So far, Westly has bundled between $100,000 and $200,000.

There was speculation on Harding’s involvement in the Teapot Dome Scandal. Unfortunately, he died in office and was unable to defend himself; forever tainting his tenure as one of the most corrupt in American history.

It looks like Obama is well on his way of surpassing that mile marker.

NYC 9th District Election Results Are Almost Biblical

First there was an earthquake, than a semi-hurricane flooded the empire state, now we have an election that defies all probability: a republican won the 9th District of NYC! What’s next … locust or a famine? This is almost biblical.

Businessman Bob Turner (R) defeated state Assemblyman David Weprin (D) in the special election for the House seat held by former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner (D).

Turner’s victory is regarded as an upset given the Democratic history of the 9th district, which takes in portions of Brooklyn and Queens, as well as the fact that President Obama carried the seat by 11 points in 2008.

“New Yorkers put Washington Democrats on notice that voters are losing confidence in a President whose policies assault job-creators and affront Israel,” said National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-Texas) in a statement after Turner’s win.

Of course the democrats and their media toadies are trying to spin this highly improbable election result:

As evidence they cited the fact that Democratic performance in the district has been eroding for years. In the 2000 presidential election, Al Gore got 67 percent of the vote; Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) got only 56 percent in 2004, and Barack Obama 55 percent in 2008.

Moreover, Democratic strategists noted that they had a
fairly weak candidate in Weprin, whose campaign was plagued by gaffes. He was chosen by party leaders largely because he promised not to challenge another incumbent in 2012, should his seat be eliminated in redistricting.

With New York slated to lose two seats due to growth over the last decade that lagged the national average, the 9th is considered ripe territory to be eliminated although no formal redistricting discussions have taken place.

As we’ve written, special elections are
notoriously unreliable as predictors of future results. But for now, Democrats have reason to be spooked.

Captain Obama Throws Trial Lawyer Ghouls a Bone

The economy is so bad that Obama had to throw the trial lawyers a body or two. The commander-in-thief wanted to make sure that these ghouls, who are prominent donors to the Democratic Party, had a ship that would crash onto the promontory; giving them fresh bodies to plunder:

President Obama's American Jobs Act, which he presented to Congress on Monday, would make it illegal for employers to run advertisements saying that they will not consider unemployed workers, or to refuse to consider or hire people because they are unemployed.

The proposed language is found in a section of
the bill titled "Prohibition of Discrimination in Employment on the Basis of an Individual's Status as Unemployed." That section would also make it illegal for employers to request that employment agencies take into account a person's unemployed status.

It would also allow aggrieved job-seekers to seek damages if they have been discriminated against. This provision in particular prompted Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) to argue that Obama's proposal is aimed at creating a new, special class of people who can sue companies.

“So if you're unemployed, and you go to apply for a job and you're not hired for that job, see a lawyer," Gohmert said on the House floor. "You might be able to file a claim because you got discriminated against because you're unemployed."

He said this provision would only discourage companies from interviewing unemployed candidates, and would "help trial lawyers who are not having enough work," since there are about 14 million unemployed Americans.
