Senator Kay Hagan Opts out of Debate

I thought three debates were scheduled between Senator Kay Hagan and Thom Tillis. Looks like I’m wrong.  Senator Kay Hagan has opted out.  The News and Observer reported the following:

The event was planned for Oct. 21, to be broadcast on Time Warner Cable, sponsored by the TV station’s newsroom and The News & Observer and Charlotte Observer. TWC reported Monday night that Hagan says she will decline.
The Hagan campaign says it notified Time Warner in July that she would not participate.

I don’t know why are illustrious senator has decided to cancel.  She couldn’t have more pliable sponsors.  The Observers that infest this state are Democratic Party operatives.  They’re Hagan’s cheerleaders.  I guess she was shaken up after her last performance.  Of course, the spinners know how deflect setbacks.

The Hagan campaign says it notified Time Warner in July that she would not participate.
"It's a disingenuous attack from Speaker Tillis who felt two debates was more than enough in the primary,” Hagan spokeswoman Sadie Weiner said Tuesday in an emailed response. “... The first debate has already taken place and we look forward to the next debate opportunity for the two candidates to compare their records for voters."

She canceled in July?  That’s about as believable as ‘if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.’
