California Democrats Scheme to Steal Federal Tax Relief

Democrats are incapable of reforming themselves.  They’re incorrigible spendthrifts who, in the face of adversity, will double down on greed and stupidity.  Even when their theories have been proven wrong, their self-righteous attitude will not allow them to accept the obvious.

And what is the obvious?  The Republican tax plan has been a windfall for companies and their employees.  Big businesses have disproved the progressive myth that the fat cats will divide the profits amongst themselves and their shareholders while emaciated workers plea for a spoonful of gruel.

The middle-class are the main beneficiaries of the Republican tax plan. Sure, SALT has been reduced, but this should be considered an opportunity for state and local governments to reform themselves.  Of course, the more obstreperous regions refuse to accept fiscal responsibility; instead, they’re looking for alternative ways to fill their coffers.  Who’ll be the scapegoats?  Why the usual suspects, of course.

SACRAMENTO — California lawmakers are targeting the expected windfall that companies in the state would see under the federal tax overhaul with a bill that would require businesses to turn over half to the state.

A proposed Assembly Constitutional Amendment by Assemblymen Kevin McCarty, D-Sacramento, and Phil Ting, D-San Francisco, would create a tax surcharge on California companies making more than $1 million so that half of their federal tax cut would instead go to programs that benefit low-income and middle-class families.

“Trump’s tax reform plan was nothing more than a middle-class tax increase,” Ting said in a statement. “It is unconscionable to force working families to pay the price for tax breaks and loopholes benefiting corporations and wealthy individuals. This bill will help blunt the impact of the federal tax plan on everyday Californians by protecting funding for education, affordable health care, and other core priorities.”

What is unconscionable is theft through taxation.  The above attitude is why businesses and  Californians are leaving the “golden state” in droves.  I have news for these Sacramento Marxist:  You’re economic theories are a bust; have been and always will be.  While red state, America prospers, California Democrats can shelter their eyes from a homeless epidemic and wade through shit filled streets.

California Leads Nation in Poverty

The census bureau has reported that California leads the nation in poverty. That’s right, you read that correctly. Libtards can’t use their whipping boy - Mississippi or some other flyover state - to point their fingers and jeer at. Their golden state has turned into a golden shithole and it’s all thanks to decades of progressive policies.

The major culprit for California’s “golden age” is their insufferable paternalism and the bureaucracies that enslave one-third of our nation’s able bodied citizens to a life of poverty. Here is an excerpt from City Journal:

Self-interest in the social-services community may be at work here. If California’s poverty rate should ever be substantially reduced by getting the typical welfare client back into the workforce, many bureaucrats could lose their jobs. As economist William A. Niskanen explained back in 1971, public agencies seek to maximize their budgets, through which they acquire increased power, status, comfort, and job security. In order to keep growing its budget, and hence its power, a welfare bureaucracy has an incentive to expand its “customer” base—to ensure that the welfare rolls remain full and, ideally, growing. With 883,000 full-time-equivalent state and local employees in 2014, according to Governing, California has an enormous bureaucracy—a unionized, public-sector workforce that exercises tremendous power through voting and lobbying. Many work in social services.

Here is a video emphasizing just how dire the homeless situation is in California. It is shocking.

Homeless Can't Afford Obamacare Deductibles

The ultimate goal of Obamacare is to get as many people insured as possible, no matter how worthless the policy maybe, by that I mean paying for care that don’t pertain to your needs and having outrageous deductibles.  What a scam.  But this is nothing compared to the latest outrage.  Homeless people are being taken advantage of by insurance companies and predatory agents looking for a quick buck.

Here is an excerpt from the Charlotte Observer:

Normally, the Carolinas’ most impoverished residents don’t qualify for help under the Affordable Care Act. In states that didn’t expand Medicaid, as the act intended, people who fall below the federal poverty line get nothing while those who earn just above $11,700 can get hundreds of dollars a month in federal aid.

Kennedy, 43, a tax accountant turned insurance agent, says he found a legal, risk-free way to work around that. He encourages the homeless to estimate income from barter, panhandling and “street hustling” at $11,700 a year, which, he says, can get the federal government to foot the entire bill for high-deductible insurance. It’s not ideal, he says, but it’s better than having no insurance.

“What I have done, and what I make no apology for, is to work diligently to inform low-income individuals about their rights under the ACA and to help those who qualify obtain the health insurance for which they are eligible,” Kennedy said.

The CoventryOne plans Kennedy sold cost the federal government between about $2,500 and more than $7,000 a year, depending on the customer’s age and smoking status. Those payments go directly to the insurance company, which is owned by Aetna, and Kennedy gets a monthly commission on each policy. Kennedy and Aetna declined to say how much that commission is, but two agents familiar with Aetna’s commissions say it’s about $15 a month. For 600 policies, that would come to $9,000 a month.

What’s wrong with that?  At least they’re insured, right?  Who cares if they can't afford the deductibles.  Who can?  Why should the homeless get special treatment.
