Hey Obama, About Those Horses and Bayonets...

Mr. President are sure the military doesn't use horses anymore?

Wow, that must be embarrassing.  And are you sure the military doesn't use bayonets?

Maybe our commander-in-chief should spend more time in national security meetings and less time on the golf course.  But that won't matter much after November.

Obama Administration One of the Most Corrupt in American History

The United States has been riddled with corrupt administrations.  And as far as I’m concerned, the Obama administration ranks up there with the worst offenders.  I don’t believe FDR’s alphabet soup agencies – notorious for their votes for patronage – can out slime the scum that seeps from today’s White House.  I believe you’d have to go all the way back to the Grant administration to find one comparable to the degrees of cronyism and outright disregard for the law.
The Heritage Foundation published the following list of green energy companies that went bankrupt, or are on the verge of bankruptcy.  By the way, many, if not all of them, had agents that were campaign bundlers for the Obama campaign.

The complete list of faltering or bankrupt green-energy companies:
  1. Evergreen Solar ($25 million)*
  2. SpectraWatt ($500,000)*
  3. Solyndra ($535 million)*
  4. Beacon Power ($43 million)*
  5. Nevada Geothermal ($98.5 million)
  6. SunPower ($1.2 billion)
  7. First Solar ($1.46 billion)

  9. EnerDel’s subsidiary Ener1 ($118.5 million)*
  10. Amonix ($5.9 million)
  11. Fisker Automotive ($529 million)
  12. Abound Solar ($400 million)*
  13. A123 Systems ($279 million)*
  14. Willard and Kelsey Solar Group ($700,981)*
  15. Johnson Controls ($299 million)

Samuel J. Tilden, an 1876 presidential nominee, called out the Grant administration.  The following is an excerpt from one of his speeches:

What the country now needs is a revival of Jeffersonian democracy, with the principles of government and rules of administration, and…the high standards of official morality which were established by the political revolution of 1800….The demoralizations of war – a spirit of gambling adventure, engendered by false systems of public finance; a grasping centralization, absorbing all functions from the local authorities; and assuming to control the industries of individuals by largesses to favored classes from the public Treasury of money wrung the body of the people by taxation – were then, as now, characteristic of the period.  The party that swayed the Government, though embracing many elevated characters, was dominated as an organization by the ideas of its master spirit, Alexander Hamilton.  Himself personally pure, he nevertheless believed that our people must be governed, if not by force, at least by appeals to the selfish interests of classes, in all forms of corrupt influence….As a means to the reaction of 1800, Jefferson organized the Democratic Party.  He set up anew the broken foundations of governmental power.  He stayed the advancing centralization.  He restored the rights of the States and of the localities.  He repressed the meddling of Government in the concerns of private business….He refused to appoint relatives to office.  He declined all presents.  He refrained while in the public service from all enterprises to increase his private fortune….The reformatory work of Mr. Jefferson in 1800 must now be repeated.

Mr. Tilden’s plea resounds to this day.

Romney's McCainesque Debate Performance

What in the hell happened last night?  Mitt Romney had a chance to knockout that smug, paper president – Barack Obama.    Instead, he held up that man/child through every round; even when this spoiled brat spat a nasty remark like this:

Everybody knows what a disaster Obama has been for this country.  Yet, his foreign policy is lauded.  And Romney acquiesced.  I’m at a loss.  Was he trying to be presidential?  Was he trying to stay above the fray?  Is he trying to sit on a lead?
Libya was teed up, and Romney whiffed.  The Muslim Brotherhood has taken over Egypt and infiltrated the highest levels of our government.  Romney whiffed.  Iraq is turning into an Iranian backwater.  Romney whiffed.  Al Qaeda and the Taliban are taking over Afghanistan.  Romney whiffed.

During the debate, I was beginning to have flashbacks of the 2008 election.  I was beginning to wonder if Sen. John McCain had taken over Romney’s body.  I thought for sure, the republican nominee was about to call the Anointed One “my friend.”
Last night is proof positive that we haven’t exorcised the progressives out of this election cycle.  It seems some of these demons will haunt us forever.

The Highwayman

by TLCoston

Sit young man, and listen to this tale
For the time is short and fate prevails
You ask why you are here
I too wondered that many years ago,
As I sat in your spot and listened to an old fellow’s woe

I see you’re confused, as I once was too
You were compelled, and as for that I pity you
For your purpose is intertwined with mine
It’ll be a ghastly play we’re destined to make tonight

Notice we sit in the Highwayman’s Pub with fireplace aglow
Look around, no patrons, only shadows move to and fro
Listen – nary a whisper or a sound
Only the crackle and pop that emits from that infernal mouth

How I dread the hour, for the time is near
So I’ll make haste and explain as to why you are here
A witness to my death; that is your role
You’ll watch as the dreaded Highwayman takes my soul

Ah, your eyes widen, and a shiver runs down your back
You want to run, but you can’t
No, you’ll sit and listen, as I once did
As did my predecessor and all the unfortunates before him

You wonder why I came here, knowing my doom
I tried to stay away, but fate knows no ruse
So, with a heavy heart and a shaky hand
I’ll relate as to how this infamy shall end

Many years ago, I followed my predecessor out that very door
A distance kept as I was forewarned
I remember there was no wind with a full moon bright
Leaves sparsely fell on that autumn night

The old man’s gait was cautious, yet sprite
His eyes darted from left and to the right
His aged hand clasped a weathered coat at the throat
His breath quick and palpable from the cold

I dashed across the churchyard and through the cemetery gate
Tripping and falling onto a freshly laid grave
I can still remember the smell of dried leaves and moist earth
And the sweat that saturated my shirt

A giant oak stood over the hill, and to the right
The old man hesitated when it came into sight
I remember the urgency and the fright in his eyes
It was then he picked up his stride

Suddenly, I heard a snort and a neigh
It was he, the Highwayman, silhouetted on his bay
He drew his sword, then spurred his steed
At that, the old man screamed

The ground shook as hooves pounded the road
Sparks flew as shoes struck stone
The spectral animal flared a heavy breath
As horse and rider bore down on that poor, old man

Run, Old Man! Run! That’s what I screamed
My legs frozen from this horrifying scene
I clasped my mouth and prayed to God
Please Lord set this unfortunate free

I watched the old man run with all his might
His wisp of gray hair flailing in the moonlight
Askance he looked over his shoulder
Only to find the Highwayman coming closer

To the tree!  To the tree!  I yelled not knowing why
And indeed the old man seemed to have it insight
For with purpose he bowed his balding head
And strained his arms and legs with all he had

To the Tree!  To the Tree! I waved to the goal
Fifty yards and your home!
To the Tree!  To the Tree! You’re almost there!
He’s going to make it!  He’s going to make it!  I declared

It was then, horse and rider picked up the pace
And just like that, the distance weren't so great
Closing, the Highwayman’s sword glinted; prepared
I cringed, as the demon’s laughter filled the air

The old man looked back measuring his fate
It was then he stumbled and fell on his face
I gasped in horror.  This cannot be real
Get up! Get up!  The demon is on your heels!

My predecessor picked himself up and ran
Blood streamed down his forehead and hands
Twenty yards and then ten
Yes!  Yes!  You’re going to make it old man!

And just then as he made it to the tree
He turned around inexplicably
Holding out his arms and exposing his breast
Surely this can't be a taunt, or a jest.

The Highwayman’s steed slid to a halt
Gravel sprayed the old man’s dirty clothes
There predator and prey stood under a large bough
Not a word either one did spout

The spectral thief pointed his sword to the branch
At this the old man did glance
Down came the weapon with full force
Cleaving the old man gut to throat

The Highwayman dismounted his steed
As my predecessor fell to his knees
The demon stood over his prey
While watching his victim’s entrails splay

Hot tears stung my cheeks
Get away from him!  You demon thief!
My anger turned to wrath
For a weapon, I picked up a branch

Running through the cemetery, I gave a banshee scream
The Highwayman then turned towards me
He pointed his sword at my branch
And then gave an awful laugh

A mist poured from a hollow in the tree
Engulfing all three
And as I neared the scene of the crime
They disappeared into the night

I looked around in disbelief
Evidence is what I need
And to reaffirm this grisly act
Blood saturated the grass

Why did you stop? I cried out in vain
You had him beat.  You won the game.
And at that instance I looked up at the bough
Only to see where a rope had burnt its bark

So, now it’s time for us to play our part
Finish your beer for we must get a start
Remember to keep your distance, don’t fall behind
For tonight is the night the Highwayman rides.

I wonder where Obama put that booger. Maybe he should have asked Romney for his crib notes.

Terrorist Sympathizer to Represent U.S. at Human Rights Conference

Do we need more proof that Islamic extremist have infiltrated the highest levels of our government?  Well, just in case you’ve missed the latest affront to our national security, the Obama administration has appointed a known supporter of Hezbollah and Hamas and a 9/11 conspiracy theorist to represent the United States at a human rights conference.

Salam al-Marayati, founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), was picked to represent the United States government at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s (OSCE) annual 10-day human rights conference, the Human Dimension Implementation Meetings (HDIM).

Al-Marayati’s well-known anti-Israel bona fides prompted Jewish leaders and others to express outrage over the Obama administration’s selection.

“It is regrettable that someone with such distorted, conspiratorial views—even with a lackluster apology—is delegated by our government to represent our country abroad,” the Anti-Defamation League said in a statement to the Free Beacon.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, argued that the State Department is showing inconsistency by touting an individual who has defended the militant groups Hezbollah and Hamas, both of which are designated by the U.S. as terrorist organizations.

And what does the State Department have to say for themselves?

The State Department, however, defended al-Marayati’s participation, calling him “valued and highly credible.”

“Mr. al-Marayati has been involved in U.S. government initiatives for almost 10 years and has been a valued and highly credible interlocutor on issues affecting Muslim communities,” a spokesman for the U.S. Mission to the OSCE told the Free Beacon Thursday in a statement. “He was invited to participate in this year’s HDIM as a reflection of the wide diversity of backgrounds of the American people.”

Yeah, we shouldn’t forget the haters of Western Civilization as part of our American diversity.  It seems that background is overflowing in the Obama administration.  What’s next – a coup?

The Empty Chair Debate

The New Yorker Magazine not only sums up the first presidential debate, but the entire Obama presidency.  Clint Eastwood must have a smile on his face.

PA Democrat Refuses to Pledge Allegiance

I wonder if she believes George Washington's first inaugural speech is a prayer.  God was referenced multiple times.  Or, maybe our founding documents are considered a prayer as well, since they mention a Creator.

Democrats have a twisted logic.

Obama Was Taken Behind the Woodshed

Last Wednesday’s presidential debate was a shocking spectacle.  It was the equivalent of watching a father taking his son behind a woodshed.  The spectator can only cringe at the sound of whacking and howls.  And yet, you know the little bastard had it coming.  And as the two emerge from that place of shame, one can only hope the hitch in the reprobate’s breath and the rubbing of his ass is not an affectation but a well learned lesson.

Even the dimwits in Hollywood couldn’t believe what happened to their champion.  Was Obama on weed? Ruminated Bill Maher:

The simple fact is you can’t defend the indefensible.  Obama’s record, along with his attitude, is reprehensible.  Not even his trusty companion the teleprompter could have saved him.
