FEC Complaint Filed Against DNC for Hiring Illegal Alien

No matter how many body blows liberals, the Democratic Party and foreign nationals mete out to a people who still believe in the rule of law and a constitutional republic, we can take solace that we are not alone.  There are organizations with the wherewithal to defend American values.

Judicial Watch has filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission accusing the Democratic National Committee of knowingly violating federal law by hiring an illegal alien.

Here are the charges:

·         The Democratic National Committee knowingly hired a Foreign National to assist, directly or indirectly, in setting the Committee’s Public Policy Agenda for its Candidates, the National Committee, and its Associated Organizations.
·
The United States has prohibited non-citizen participation in election related activities for over fifty years. The United States Supreme Court has held that such prohibitions are legally permissible under the U.S. Constitution… In 2002, Congress expanded the prohibitions on foreign nationals… to include “anything of value” that “directly or indirectly” contributes to a political campaign… The Commission has stated “foreign nationals [cannot] direct, control, or otherwise participate directly or indirectly in the decision-making process of [a] PAC.

On its face, the DNC’s decision to hire Ms. Nava is in direct violation of this provision. The FEC should investigate this matter further to determine the full extent of Ms. Nava’s responsibilities, her relationship to the policy making team, and her effect on the 2016 DNC election strategy.

·         The Democratic National Committee is Willfully and Knowingly violating Federal Law and Contradicting Federal Policy by Permitting a Foreign National to Contribute to the Conventions Campaigns, Election Strategy, and Fundraising Efforts
·
The United States Congress created a federal offense to knowingly hire an illegal alien. It is against Federal law “to hire, or to recruit…, for employment in the United States an alien knowing the alien is an unauthorized alien… There are two elements to this crime: (1) knowledge of the alien’s status, and (2) an employment offer…

Thus, the DNC is violating federal law by hiring Cindy Nava. Her fellowship constitutes expenditures under the FEC regulation, and therefore these illegal expenditures are within the scope of FEC regulations… They have actively employed Ms. Nava knowing that she lacked proper authorization to work in the United States

Can we expect the FEC to act upon this complaint?  In an age of lawlessness one can only hope.

FEC to Harass Conservatives on the Internet

Do we have rogue regulatory agencies?  The answer is an emphatic, yes!  These bureaucracies thumb their noses at the American people and our representatives.  They don't have to go through the legislative process and therefore are unaccountable for passing rules and regulations that have the force of law.  These agencies are making a mockery of our federalist system and our constitutional process.

What is the latest outrage?  The FEC has proposed new rules that would punish political speech on the internet.  The Washington Examiner reported the following:

Claiming that thousands of public comments condemning “dark money” in politics can’t be ignored, the Democrat-chaired Federal Election Commission on Wednesday appeared ready to open the door to new regulations on donors, bloggers and others who use the Internet to influence policy and campaigns.

During a broad FEC hearing to discuss a recent Supreme Court decision that eliminated some donor limits, proponents encouraged the agency to draw up new funding disclosure rules and require even third-party internet-based groups to reveal donors, a move that would extinguish a 2006 decision to keep the agency’s hands off the Internet.

So let’s get this straight.  The FEC can draw up rules without the consent of Congress and in direct defiance of a Supreme Court ruling, not to mention violate the tenets of the First Amendment.  They can do this because 32,000 liberal activists demanded the FEC do something about “dark money.”

Let’s face it.   Liberals want to silence conservative bloggers and news aggregators, and they don’t care how it’s done.
