Another Article V Convention of States Myth Busted

Louisiana’s General Assembly has passed a Commissioners Selection Resolution for an Article V convention of states. This resolution provides rules and guidelines for delegate selection and participation. Here is an excerpt from the Convention of States Project:

The COS Louisiana team helped write and support the resolution, which establishes rules that will apply to any convention of states called to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution under Article V.

The resolution provides for the selection and authority of commissioners representing the state when a convention is called to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution under Article V.

This resolution says Louisiana will send five commissioners (aka delegates) to the convention, all selected by the state legislature. Three alternates will also be selected in the same way. Citizen representation will be included, because at least two delegates may not be members of the state legislature.

The commissioners from Louisiana cannot be federal government representatives, because no person will be eligible who is a member of Congress, an employee of the United States, or an employee or other representative of a contractor with the United Sates. Additionally, any Louisiana elected official holding a statewide elected office is not eligible to be a commissioner.

The resolution also provides for legislative control over the commissioners. The resolution specifically establishes “the duty to abide by instructions established by concurrent resolution of the legislature for participation in the convention.”

Publius Huldah, a convention of states opponent, claimed that States had to apply to Congress for a convention and that only Congress can pick delegates, set the rules, and approve amendments. Louisiana just proved her wrong. How can the federal government be involved when this resolution forbade its participation?

Louisiana Democrat Encourages Voter Fraud

If you’re a democrat go ahead and vote as often as you like.  Hell, no one is going to prosecute you.  You belong to an elite club of liars, cheats and thieves.  Townhall.com reported the following:

Video of Opelousas, Louisiana Mayor Don Cravins Sr.'s Nov. 3 remarks show him telling a crowd in his home town that 'if you early voted, go vote again tomorrow. One more time’s not going to hurt.' Louisianans, like Americans in many states, had the option of either voting 'early' or showing up on Election Day. Taking advantage of both options would be a crime. And for voters worried about criminal fraud charges, Cravins said he had an insurance policy – the re-election of a Democratic district attorney...'Tomorrow we’re gonna elect Earl Taylor as the D.A. so he won’t prosecute you if you vote twice,' Cravins said. Taylor won a fourth term on Nov. 4...Cravins' remarks were met first by laughs and then by wild cheers. Mary Landrieu's campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

And don’t worry about the mainstream media reporting any wrong doing.  They’re too busy reassuring Americans there is no voter fraud.

Barack Obama: America's Nero

Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus is probably the most infamous narcissist in the world. Emperor Nero allegedly played the lyre while Rome burned. He then needed a scapegoat to deflect the populaces’ anger over his incompetence. The Christians were an easy target, and Nero persecuted them. The world’s “greatest artist” used these pious people as human torches; and for Rome's amusement used them as fodder in the arena.

Barry Soetoro Barack Hussein Obama the world’s second most infamous narcissist had the following schedule while millions of gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico:

• Two days of media events (White House Correspondents Dinner and a tĂȘte a tĂȘte with Bono)
• Three days of fundraising
• Four commemorations (graduations, Cinco de Mayo, etc)
• Six days of vacation
• Six days of campaigning
• Six sports events

And to top it off, he sang Hey Jude with Paul McCartney at the White House:

In the meantime the Governor of Louisiana is coming up with solutions that would help save the wetlands. The only problem he has is getting permission from federal bureaucrats to implement these ideas.

What response did Governor Jindal get from Barry Soetoro Barack Hussein Obama? BP is at fault and they will be held responsible for this disaster. That’s it? Oh, and he’s sending the justice department to the Gulf for further review. Wow! Don’t hold the Community Agitator back! This is a man of action!

This is what happens when power resides in a central authority. Men are rendered hapless, waiting for permission from an inept bureaucrat; in the meantime their livelihood and homes are being destroyed due to a lack of action.
