Illegal Aliens Demand Release of 9 Dreamers

The arrogance of illegal aliens is astonishing.  These people have the same mentality as the entitlement class that plagues this country.  Recently two of these invaders were arrested in Rep. Mel Watt’s office for trespassing.  They are demanding that our congressmen petition the government to release a group of illegals who deported themselves; changed their minds; and are now held in detention in Arizona.  Here is an excerpt from a Charlotte Observer article:

The two were part of a protest group of about 30 people who sought the Democrat’s support in lobbying for the release of the nine youths, who are now held in Arizona for attempting to enter the country without documentation.

Among the 30 protesters was Norma Lopez of Marion, whose son, Luis Gustavo Leon Lopez, 20, is one of the nine detainees. He was raised in North Carolina but left for Mexico in August 2011 out of frustration with North Carolina’s policy of not allowing undocumented students to pay in-state tuition.

Luis Lopez attempted to return in June 2012 but was turned away. On July 22, he and six other undocumented youths seeking to return home presented themselves at the Nogales Port of Entry and were taken into custody.

They have since been joined by three other youths who “self-deported” in order to bring attention to Luis Lopez’s plight. Luis Lopez was being held at the Eloy Detention Center in Arizona.

Illegal aliens believe they should have the same rights and privileges as an American citizen.  Yeah, let’s give these third-worlders amnesty.  They’ll fit right in with the average Democratic voter.

Rick Santelli Calls Out Mel Watt on FHFA Pick

Obama Picks Fannie and Freddie Apologist for Federal Housing Post

Well, what do you know?  My former congressman (he was gerrymandered out of my area) has been picked by King Obama to head the Federal Housing Finance Agency.  This is an unbelievable pick.  Rep. Mel Watts played a part in the worst financial bubble in world history.  He defended Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac when it was obvious for all to see that these GSE’s were out of control.  Yet, he along with the Black Congressional Caucus skewered anyone who stated otherwise.  The below video is a refresher course on the shameful tactics of the Democratic Party.

Is it possible for another bubble?  A senator from Tennessee has concerns:
“I could not be more disappointed in this nomination. This gives new meaning to the adage that the fox is guarding the hen house,” Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., said in a statement fired off minutes after news broke of Watt’s selection and well before the official White House photo op. “The debate around his nomination will illuminate for all Americans why Fannie and Freddie failed so miserably.”

I’ll say one thing in favor of Mel Watt.  At least Obama didn’t appoint Maxine Waters.

Rep. Mel Watt Fails to Cut Office of Ethics Budget

Rep. Mel Watt of North Carolina’s 12th congressional district tried to exact revenge on the Office of Congressional Ethics. The gerrymandered Democrat underwent an investigation last year. Even though Mr. Watt was found innocent of any wrong doing, he tried to cut their budget by 40%.

On a bipartisan vote of 102-302, the House rejected the amendment, offered by Rep. Mel Watt, a North Carolina Democrat who was investigated last year by the office.

“Today, lawmakers stood up for ethics by rejecting Watt's misguided amendment," said Melanie Sloan, the executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a watchdog group, in a statement. "Now lawmakers should take the additional step of strengthening the OCE by giving it subpoena power. The only lawmakers with anything to fear from an empowered OCE are those who have done something wrong."

It looks like Congressman Mel Watt has 40% more to fear.
