WBT 1110 AM Radio and Vince Coakley to Part Ways

If you listen to radio talk shows in the Charlotte, NC area, you’ll be surprised to hear that Vince Coakley will no longer hold the 3:00 – 6:00 pm time slot at WBT-AM (1110). The geniuses that run this radio station decided not to renew his contract. Apparently, a black conservative is too much for the progressives who run this town. They sure don’t want to give the Democratic Party the wrong impression when the Queen City hosts their convention. A strong voice such as Mr. Coakley would be an affront to progressives’ preconceived notions of what a black man should be.

The Charlotte Disturber reports:

Vince Coakley, the former WSOC (Channel 9) anchor who last June followed Tara Servatius in WBT’s afternoon slot, will work through June 19. “We won’t be renewing Vince’s contract,” said Carl East, WBT’s program manager.

Krantz joined WBT in 1999 and was teamed with Richard Spires, an outspoken Libertarian. Their show was canceled in 2003.

Whitmire helped with comedy bits on their WBT program, doing voices like Strom Thurmond’s.

“It’s difficult to put into words just how happy I am to be returning to WBT after nine years, but let me try, in as simple a way as possible – it’s great to be home again,” Krantz said in a statement.

East said their new show will be a departure from the heavy political menu WBT has been serving for more than a decade in the afternoon.

“They’re not going to be 100 percent politics,” he said. “They’re going to be a lot more fun. We’ve tried these political shows for a long time, but we need to appeal to a wider audience.”

All I have to say is thank God for 1660 AM. I no longer have to listen to the insipid musings of Keith Larson in the morning. Glenn Beck is far more informative and entertaining. And with the departure of Vince Coakley, I will go back to listening to Sean Hannity.

The one moneymaker that WBT has is Rush Limbaugh. I wonder how long it will take the geniuses who run this station to screw that up.

Progressives Exploit Arizona Shooting

I first heard of the tragic shooting in Arizona on my way home from work, while listening to the radio. I’m sure most people were glued to their television sets, as they waited for more details on this senseless killing. I on the other hand was at a complete loss. But with what little information I had, I knew exactly how opportunistic Progressives and their lapdogs in the media were going to portray the motives of this killer. It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out.


It started almost immediately. Sarah Palin, talk radio, Fox News, and the tea partiers were all to blame for this tragedy. The ankle biters didn’t wait for details; they just knew who was responsible for pushing this poor, disturbed individual over the edge. And the usual suspects didn’t disappoint:







The Progressives just knew that this poor, young man was a victim of conservative vitriol; never mind the incoherent ramblings and disturbing YouTube videos that he posted. And let’s not pay attention to those closest to him, who described him as a leftist. Why, that just doesn’t fit their psychological profile of a rabid killer.

The left are on a mission to shut people up and the facts don’t matter. I would say J.D. Salinger, Jodie Foster, and The Beatles are responsible for more killings than Rush Limbaugh. Does that mean we should ban The Catcher in the Rye and the song Helter Skelter? And what are we to do with Jodie Foster? She certainly is a threat to society.

We haven’t heard from all of the leftist nut-jobs; the gun grabbers are yet to make an appearance.

And here comes the Hugo Chavez cure for silencing the opposition in the media. The democrats are defenders of free speech? Only the speech that they will allow us to have.

The new media is a threat to their power structure and Big Brother must eliminate anyone who can make it in the free market.

Obama Tries To Infiltrate Talk Radio

Barack Obama and his propaganda machine is trying to infiltrate conservative talk radio. Their objective is to influence audiences on government controlled health care. The website is called Organizing For America On The Air, a project of the Democratic National Committee.

How radio stations will connect you will depend on the show. Some radio shows may connect you right away, but most will take your name and basic info and put you on hold. For most Americans, their health care plan covers too little and costs too much. Far too many people delay or even skip the care they need because they simply can’t afford it.
