Kurds Winning the Real "War on Women"

Kurds are winning the real, “War on Women.”  ISIS is getting their asses handed to them by brigades of women who refuse to become sex slaves to the Islamic Ummah.

Beirut (AFP) - Kurdish militia have driven Islamic State group militants from the Syrian border town of Kobane after months of heavy fighting, a monitor and spokesman said Monday, dealing a crucial blow to the jihadists

Across the border in Iraq meanwhile, a top army officer announced troops had "liberated" Diyala province from IS jihadists.

In Syria, the Kurdish advance marked the culmination of a battle lasting more than four months in which nearly 1,800 people were killed.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) had pushed IS militants from all of Kobane.

They "expelled all Islamic State fighters from Kobane and have full control of the town," Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said.

"The Kurds are pursuing some jihadists on the eastern outskirts of Kobane, but there is no more fighting inside now.

My Ovaries are Bigger Than Yours

We are living in a South Park episode.  A day doesn’t go by without some sort of politically correct stupidity dominating the news.  I am constantly amazed at so-called adults who spend their time and energy being offended.  Don’t these people have jobs?  Or, is this grievance industry a product of a twenty-four hour news cycle?

Thirty years ago, this nonsense wouldn’t have happened.  I don’t recall men lamenting their gender, or the color of their skin.  They were too busy trying to provide for their families.  Today, one out of four Americans don’t work.  This could be one of many factors for all this navel gazing and self-loathing.

We live in an age where men are being emasculated.  Hell, we have a president who can’t throw a baseball, wears mom jeans, and believes there is a war on women.  If there is a gender war, it’s on males.  We are practically shell shocked from a daily bombardment of recriminations.  Today’s man is a metro-sexual likely to read People magazine and profess his”feelings.”

Today’s man is more into bragging about the size of his ovaries, instead of his prowess.  Can that be a good thing?  I’m too shell shocked to know.

Senator Kay Hagan Declares War on American People

We already know the Democratic Party’s 2014 midterm strategy.  They are anxious to deflect their economic and health care failures by advancing a myth.  They would have us believe that Republicans have declared a war on women.  This strategy may have brought a measure of success during the presidential election.  But midterms are different.  Teat squawkers and the low information crowd usually stay at home.  The diehard politicos participate in these elections.  And the Tea Party is revved up and ready to go.

Senator Kay Hagan, a vulnerable democrat in the state of North Carolina, is already using this nonsense.  She has voted for 96% of the Obama administrations agenda.  Yet, she is considered a moderate.  That is an indication of how far left the Democratic Party has become.  Here is her quote:

“You know what my opponents want to do? They want to personally get involved in the health care decisions, especially of women,” Hagan said. “Every one of my opponents to date has said that the state has the authority to ban contraception. I can guarantee you, that’s what women will not want to have to hear.”

Republicans want to personally get involved in our health care decisions, especially women?  Wow!  Somebody should check Senator Kay Hagan’s jock strap to see if she’s sporting a pair.  It takes a huge set of balls to make a declaration like that.  Do we need to remind her that she was the one who voted for Obamacare?  She was the one who voted for a law that demands we pay for coverages none of us need.  She is responsible for millions of Americans losing their insurance, paying for higher deductibles and premiums, and the loss of access to our doctors and hospitals.  And yet, it is the Republicans who want to make health care decisions for women?

Senator Kay Hagan has not only declared a war on women, she has declared a war on the American people.  But let’s explore this declaration even further, this time the perps are the Democratic Party.  Townhall.com outlined 5 ways liberal have declared war on women. They are as follows:

  1.  The party of infanticide
  2.     Excusing horrible liberal behavior to women
  3.   Demeaning stay at home moms
  4.   Savage attacks on conservative women
  5.    Helping criminals by disarming women

See you in November, Senator Hagan.

NC Conservatives Welcome Catherine Engelbrecht

The Civitas Institute is sponsoring their annual Conservative Leadership Council in Raleigh, NC.   This year’s event will be held on the 28th and 29th of March.  As usual, they have a number of outstanding speakers scheduled.  One particular speaker has made headlines for her activism.  Catherine Englebrecht appeared before a congressional hearing to testify about the misconduct and harassment by federal agencies and a U.S. congressman.  She also appeared on national television describing the efforts of the federal government to punish her for having the audacity to be a civic minded citizen.

< br />
Democrats continuously declare there is a war on women.  I would have to agree.  It is being waged by Barack Obama, his administration and the Democratic Party.

North Carolina conservatives welcome Catherine Englebrecht.  After all, this state has a history of embracing patriotic women.  One only has to remember the Edenton and Wilmington Tea Party of the revolutionary period.  Their reception by the powers-that-be is reminiscent of Congressman Connelly’s conduct in the aforementioned hearing.

News of the Edenton Tea Party quickly reached Britain.  During the 1770s, political resistance was common.  But an organized women’s movement was not.  So, the Edenton Tea Party shocked the Western world.  From England, in January 1775, Arthur Iredell wrote his brother, James Iredell, describing England’s reaction to the Edenton Tea Party.  According to Arthur Iredell, the incident was not taken seriously because it was led by women.  He sarcastically remarked, “The only security on our side … is the probability that there are but few places in America which possess so much female artillery as Edenton.”  The Edenton women were also satirized in a political cartoon published in London in March 1775.  Even though the Edenton Tea Party was ridiculed in England, it was praised in the colonies.  The women of Edenton represented American frustrations with English monarchical rule and the need for American separation and independence.

I believe the States are in need of separation and independence from an overbearing federal government.  Just like the U.S. Constitution meant it to be.

Oregon Medicaid Expansion Has No Measurable Effect

Here in North Carolina, we’ve been debating the expansion of Medicaid.  Liberals and their mouthpieces in the media are vociferous in their outrage that the republican led General Assembly and governor have declined the federal government’s overtures.  They believe it is inhumane not to provide “free healthcare” to those who are in need.
The simple fact is expanding the roll will not improve health care outcomes, and neither the state nor the federal government can afford the expenditures.  A recent Oregon program has validated what we conservatives have known all along.  Here is an I told you so moment by FreedomWorks:

During the battle against the government takeover of health care, conservatives were scorned for questioning the ability of a huge bureaucratic program to meet the medical needs of those without coverage. Conservatives and libertarian policy experts had many concerns about expanding government coverage, especially Medicaid. Not only because of the enormous costs, but also the likelihood that expanding such programs and dumping large numbers of people into an already broken system would only add to the numerous problems providing timely access to quality care. Yesterday, a report proved these naysayers right in many regards.

In 2008 Oregon expanded its Medicaid coverage with a lottery system. The state could not afford to cover everyone who qualified, but they did cover an additional 30,000 of the 90,000 residents in waiting. This new expansion allowed for researchers to contrast specifically designated health care outcomes for over 6,300 low-income adults now covered under the expansion to 5,800 who were not picked in the lottery.

The New England Journal of Medicine published The Oregon Health Insurance Experiment, (OHIE) conducted by the nation's top health policy experts. The study found no measurable effect on any of the measured physical health outcomes studied. Participants spent on average 35% more than those not on the plan, averaging over $1,150 per person.

That's right, even with access to medical care and increased spending, those on the expanded Medicaid program showed no measurable physical health benefits over those not selected. The study states:

“This randomized, controlled study showed that Medicaid coverage generated no significant improvements in measured health outcomes in the first two years, but it did increase use of health services, raise rates of diabetes detection and management, lower rates of depression, and reduce financial strain.”

After reading Avik Roy's take on this study, I spoke with him about the most significant findings and what conservatives should take away from all of it.

"Here's what's most important to note; we're currently spending over $450 billion a year on Medicaid, and we're about to spend over $600 billion a year for a program that does not appear to actually achieve the goal of helping the poor become healthier. I am not opposed to spending money on the poor, I'm opposed to wasting money on the poor. The dominant argument from the Left is that we must spend more to help these people, and we have, but it's not achieving the goals."

As Philip Klein puts it "The landmark study shatters liberal health care claims" stating:

"So the study suggests that expanding Medicaid is one way of reducing financial pressure on low-income groups, but it's costly and does not improve their health. Another interesting finding was that though medical spending increased among Medicaid enrollees due to more prescription drug usage and doctor's visits, the study "did not find significant changes in visits to the emergency department or hospital admissions." This undercuts another favorite talking point of liberals, which is that expanding insurance actually save money by reducing costly emergency room visits."

As I said in the opening line, it doesn't feel good to be right this time. I think I can speak for all conservatives when I say that we want the poorest and most vulnerable members of society to have access to quality health care. We want the sick and the elderly to be able to access a doctor when needed and have the ability to make decisions for their health that benefit them and that also does not waste the taxpayer's money. Unfortunately, Oregon shows us that pouring more people into an already burdened and broken system is not the answer.
Somebody get a hold of the Charlotte Observer and give them a copy of this study.  It won’t do any good?  I’m afraid you’re right.  This study doesn’t comport with the left’s mantra of republicans are at war on women and the poor.

Democrats Want to Destroy the Moon. Old, White Man Lives on It!

The Democrats are good at manufacturing a crisis.  Who would’ve thought this fictional “war on women” fiasco could resonate with so many.  One must question the intelligence of the American people; especially the under 30 crowd.  What’s next, a war on the moon?  Why not?  After all, there is a man on it.  And I wouldn’t doubt that he’s old and white.  You know damn well he’s up to no good.
Destroy the moon!  Destroy the moon!  Destroy the moon!
