Majority of Americans Believe Best Days Are Behind

The following poll is amazing.  The majority of Americans just reelected Barack Hussein Obama and kept the Democrats in control of the Senate.  You’d think that there would be a sense of optimism in the coming year.  But you’d be wrong.  Here are the results of a Gallop Poll:

Exactly 50 percent of Americans believe the country’s best days are in the past, while 47 percent believe the best days are yet to come. Only 24 percent of GOP voters and 43 percent of independents believe the best days are still ahead, while 69 percent of Democrats think so. A mere 28 percent of Democrats think our best days are in the past.

In the more immediate future, 65 percent of the country expects 2013 to be a year of “economic difficulty,” despite majorities anticipating increasing employment and “reasonable” increases in prices over the next year. Economists generally expect continued growth in 2013.

Obama’s campaign slogan should have been “Hopeless Change.”

Gallup Poll: 85% of Small Businesses Will Not Hire This Year

Barack Obama declared from the mountaintop that ‘the economy is growing stronger and the recovery is speeding up.’ But according to a recent Gallup Poll, 85% of small businesses surveyed, stated they will not hire this year:

PRINCETON, NJ -- U.S. small-business owners who aren't hiring -- 85% of those surveyed -- are most likely to say the reasons they are not doing so include not needing additional employees; worries about weak business conditions, including revenues; cash flow; and the overall U.S. economy. Additionally, nearly half of small-business owners point to potential healthcare costs (48%) and government regulations (46%) as reasons. One in four are not hiring because they worry they may not be in business in 12 months.

Gallup Poll Shows Country Bleeding Republican Red

It doesn’t look good for an Obama second term. Gallup released their annual state-by-state presidential numbers, and the country is bleeding red – republican red. If these numbers hold up, it could be an early night on Election Day.

Overall, Obama averaged 44% job approval in his third year in office, down from 47% in his second year. His approval rating declined from 2010 to 2011 in most states, with Wyoming, Connecticut, and Maine showing a marginal increase, and Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New Jersey, Arizona, West Virginia, Michigan, and Georgia showing declines of less than a full percentage point. The greatest declines were in Hawaii, South Dakota, Nebraska, and New Mexico.

Those numbers could change once the Anointed One opens the war chest. Fundraising is his favorite pastime; second only to golf.

Americans See Big Government More of a Threat than Big Business

Gallup has just published a poll, and the leaders of the Democratic Party should be aghast. A majority of Americans, including democrats, see big government as a threat to our freedom. The OWS farce of demonizing businesses, and capitalism in particular has backfired. Once again, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and their coterie of socialist have overplayed their hand, and the people see these corrupt, power mongers for what they are.

Americans' concerns about the threat of big government are near record-high levels. The Occupy Wall Street movement, focused on "fighting back against the corrosive power of major banks and multinational corporations," has drawn much attention and a large following. Still, the majority of Americans do not view big business as the greatest threat to the country when asked to choose among big business, big government, and big labor. In fact, Americans' concerns about big business have declined significantly since 2009.

Additionally, while Occupy Wall Street isn't necessarily affiliated with a particular party, its anti-big business message may not be resonating with majorities in any party. Republicans, independents, and now close to half of Democrats are more concerned about the threat of big government than that coming from big business.
