Tennesseans Fight Back Against Gun-Free Zones

Finally, legislators are introducing and hopefully passing common sense laws that would make business owners liable for the safety and wellbeing of their customers, especially if they’re advertising a gun-free zone.  A declaration like that is an invitation to the mentally deranged and adherents to the “religion of peace” that it’s open season on easy prey.

Sponsored by Sen. Dolores Gresham, R-Somerville,Senate Bill 1736 has a very specific purpose.

“It is the intent of this section to balance the right of a handgun carry permit holder to carry a firearm in order to exercise the right of self-defense and the ability of a property owner or entity in charge of the property to exercise control over governmental or private property,” the bill states.

To accomplish that goal, the legislation allows any Tennessean with a valid gun permit to sue a property owner in the event of injury or death provided the incident occurred while in a gun-free zone.

Makes sense to me.

Lt. Governor Encourages Christians to Arm Themselves

Christians around the world are being hunted down and murdered even in the United States.  The latest mass killing at an Oregon community college has given many a cause for concern.  Tennessee’s Lt. Governor Ramsey has encouraged fellow Christians to arm themselves against virulent anti-Christian bigots who seek to do them harm.

In a Facebook post Friday, Ramsey referred to a "recent spike in mass shootings across the nation" as "truly troubling."

"Whether the perpetrators are motivated by aggressive secularism, jihadist extremism or racial supremacy, their targets remain the same: Christians and defenders of the West," he wrote.

"While this is not the time for widespread panic," Ramsey added, "it is a time to prepare. I would encourage my fellow Christians who are serious about their faith to think about getting a handgun carry permit. I have always believed that it is better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it.

"Our enemies are armed," he added. "We must do likewise."

Democrats dismiss Lt. Governor Ramsey’s concerns as the ravings of an apocalyptic fear monger.  Many would counter this spate of attacks on Christians and our institutions are a culmination of the Democratic Party’s anti-Christian rhetoric.  The evidence overwhelmingly supports the latter.

State Judge Fed Up With Supreme Court's 'Iron Fist and Limp Wrist'

A Tennessee state judge is taking the next logical step when it comes to marriages and divorces. 

Judge Jeffrey Atherton dismissed a case by Pamela E. Bumgardner against Thomas A. Bumgardner because, he said, the Supreme Court's ruling that gay marriage must be allowed everywhere  "preempted state courts from addressing marriage/divorce litigation altogether."

"With the U.S. Supreme Court having defined what must be recognized as a marriage, it would appear that Tennessee's judiciary must now await the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court as to what is not a marriage, or better stated, when a marriage is no longer a marriage," Altherton said, according to Chattanoogan.com

Here’s the money quote: 

Altherton also said in his opinion that the Supreme Court's way of doing things these days, "with its iron fist and limp wrist," is making things hard on state-level courts.

Hell, I’m waiting for a ruling from the Supreme Court dictating how many sheets of toilet paper a person can use at one sitting.  Why not?  I’m sure they can divine this absurdity in the 14^th Amendment as well.

Illegal Alien Steals I.D. to Vote in 2004 Election

This is unbelievable! An illegal alien uses a fake I.D. and stolen Social Security Number to vote in the 2004 election in Tennessee. And now Homeland Security has written a letter expunging his crime, so he can become a citizen. What kind of crazy world do we live in?

My question is why does he want to become a citizen. He doesn't have to pay taxes. He doesn't have to abide by the same rules and laws that the rest of us do. He gets free health care at the emergency room; and he gets to vote! Why become a citizen when you get all the rights and privileges that the rest of us suckers get without the burden of ownership.

I want to thank all of our elected officials, federal bureaucrats and judges who have rendered my citizenship meaningless.
