Rep. Robert Pittenger's Three Card Monte Scheme

Rep. Robert Pittenger has, once again, shown himself to be a hypocrite and a liar.  This man voted to raise the debt ceiling by adding an additional $80 billion through September 17, 2017.  He also passed a budget that funded all of Barack Obama’s policies and executive orders, including Obamacare.  Yet, this so-called representative of the 9th Congressional District of North Carolina had the audacity to brag about a nothing piece of legislation while our insurance premiums have skyrocketed and our policies rendered worthless with outrageous deductibles.

“Constituents sent me to Washington to undo the broken promises of Obamacare.  One of my first pieces of legislation was a repeal of Obamacare’s Auto-Enroll provision, which forces businesses to enroll employees in the company health plan, whether or not they want it or need it.  The repeal of this provision was included in the budget deal, and will help protect American jobs.”

North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District’s three card monte dealer.  This isn’t what I voted for.  Did you?

Rep. Robert Pittenger's Big Government Ride

A recent poll reflects the discontent conservatives have with their party.  Sixty percent of republican primary voters stated they felt betrayed by their representatives and leadership.  I can state most emphatically, I am one of them.  Recently, the House of Representatives passed a budget without debate.  They shoved it down our throats.  Worse, they funded Barack Obama’s policies and executive orders without putting up a fight.

I called my congressman’s office to vent my displeasure.  Here is how that conversation went, more or less.

Minion:  Congressman Pittenger’s office.

Me:  It’s my understanding Mr. Pittenger voted for this monstrous budget, yesterday.

Minion:  That’s correct.

Me:   Can you tell me when we can expect Mr. Pittenger to change his party affiliation?

Minion:  Would you rather have the government default on its obligations.

Me:  The federal government will not default on any of its obligations.  They just collected over $3 trillion in revenue.  What you’re saying isn’t true.

Minion:  Would you have us shutdown the government?  You need to know basic civics.  The budget has to pass the Senate.   Even if it passes the Senate, the president will veto it.

Me:  First of all, the federal government will not shutdown.  Second, the federal government is not the country.  We’ll do just fine without Washington D.C. breathing down our necks.

Minion:  So, you would furlough our customs and border agents.

Me:  The federal government has a constitutional obligation to protect our borders and its citizens.

Minion:  What about the hundreds of thousands of federal government employees?  What about their families?

Me:  What about them?  Maybe, they should find honest work and earn an honest day’s pay like everybody else.  These bureaucracies aren’t constitutionally required.

Minion:  Maybe, you should take some law classes.

Me:  Maybe, you should read the U.S Constitution.  There are only seven articles in it.

Needless to say, I will not vote for Robert Pittenger in the primary, or the general election.  I may even be tempted to vote for his democratic challenger.  Why not?  He’s funded the Democratic Party’s agenda since he’s been in office.  We might as well cut out the pretense.

Republican Establishment Giddy With Obamacare Ruling

The republican establishment is giddy with relief.  Chief Justice John Roberts, once again, disregarded Obamacare’s statutory language and rewrote the law.  Speaker Boehner couldn’t be happier.  The Supreme Court saved him, and his colleagues, from actually having to do some work.

Almost every republican has promised to repeal and replace Obamacare.  They’ve had their chances to defund this law and refused to do it; yet, they expect us to believe, even now, they’ll get rid of this law.  Here is Rep. Robert Pittenger playing the same old song and dance:

Pittenger said he and his lawmaking colleagues on Capital Hill must continue working from a legislative position to bring about the demise of the act.

“We must repeal Obamacare,” he said, “and replace it with common-sense, market-based reform that actually lowers costs, allows freedom of choice, provides a safety net for those truly in need, and ends President Obama’s system of higher taxes and fines.”

Pittenger isn’t going to do crap and we know it.  This is a golden carrot republicans can dangle in front of voters for years to come.  We’re stuck with a bad law and the whole Washington D.C. clique is on it.

Rep. Robert Pittenger Funds Obama's Illegal Alien Amnesty

Just as I suspected, Rep. Robert Pittenger (R-NC) joined 74 other Judas’ in passing the Democratic Party’s DHS bill.  This bill funds Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty, and by extension allows illegals to raid the U.S. Treasury with the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Go govern, Robert Pittenger.  You’re doing a bang up job on representing the Washington D.C. establishment.

Only 4 NC Congressmen Vote to Defend Constitution, Rule of Law, and Citizenship

Barack Obama and the Democratic Party were handed another short term victory in their quest for executive amnesty for illegal aliens via short term funding for Homeland Security.  Granted this would have been only a partial shutdown and the nation’s security wouldn’t have been compromised.

We can applaud the 52 congressmen who defied the establishment.  They are the following:

1. Rep. Brian Babin (R-Texas)

51. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.)
52. Rep. Scott DesJarlais (R-Tenn.)

Only 4 of the 10 republican delegates voted to defend the U.S. Constitution, the rule of law and American citizenship.  Of course, Robert Pittenger voted with the establishment.

Thanks for the representation, Congressman Robert Pittenger.  Remind me again, why I shouldn’t vote for a democrat.

Charlotte Observer Editorial Writer Wins Know Nothing Award

Progressives are in a state of panic.  Their world view is crumbling before their very eyes as one policy after another is being exposed as a fraud and failure.  Newspaper editors are lashing out in ways that are sad and comical at best.

Taylor Batten, at the Charlotte Observer, inked an editorial that is amusing and replete with ad hominem attacks on anyone who has the audacity to question his mythical beliefs.  I am no fan of Rep. Robert Pittenger, but I will defend his assertions.  Here is an excerpt from Mr. Batten’s rant:

I’m excited to announce that this month’s winner is U.S. Rep. Robert Pittenger, R-N.C., of Charlotte. Many of you know Robert, as he is a long-time member of our Know Nothing caucus. He earned this month’s citation with his comments last week on WBT radio. I quote them to you now.

“The mind of the eastern liberals who are educated in these northeastern schools is, you know, government is the most important element. They believe in centralized planning.”

Shortly before that, Pittenger told the station’s listeners: “(President Obama’s) only solution is wealth redistribution and more government programs. He’s tried it, you know, the last six years, the typical, you know, progressive, liberal, socialist – however you want to define it – policies.”

Brother Pittenger sets a fine example for us all. In just a few short sentences, he dismisses an entire region of the country and puts the lie to the idea that those diploma mills like Harvard, Princeton and MIT have been among the world’s leading educational institutions for centuries. You know and I know that Ivy League schools are not rigorous universities preparing young adults in all areas of endeavor, but rather a thinly disguised cabal designed to push centralized planning on America. Thank you, Brother Pittenger, for pointing that out.

This month’s honoree also marvelously articulates for the world what we’ve long believed: That there is no difference between progressive policies and socialist ones. Does anyone still believe that socialism is an economic system in which the government controls the means of production and distribution? Of course not! We encourage all our members to use “progressive” and “socialist” interchangeably, as Brother Pittenger does

I would say the Know Nothing Award goes to Taylor Batten.  Administrative Studies was advocated by Woodrow Wilson, a leading progressive of his time and president of Princeton University.  Wilson wrote extensively about his contempt for the Constitution and our founding principles.  He desired an elite corps of bureaucrats to run “the government” without interference from a “meddlesome” populace.  And what better place to train these pencil pushers than universities?  Besides, don’t most of these D.C. creatures hail from Ivy League schools?

And yes, we can use progressive and socialism interchangeably, because progressives/socialists are trying to control the means of production and distribution through taxation and regulations.  Maybe Mr. Batten, the head socialist at the Charlotte Observer, should read some of his past editorials.

And of course, what is a libtard without global warming hysteria?  Here is a beauty.  Keep in mind the sarcastic tone in which he writes:

Some of you may have seen the latest fiction being perpetrated by the world’s so-called scientists. NASA scientists, based on readings from 3,000 weather stations around the globe, reported last week that 2014 was the hottest year on record. This is damn inconvenient for us and we must refute it immediately. Our campaign contributors insist.

Toward that end, some of our members have already helpfully pointed out that while 2014 may have been hot as blazes, it was only a tiny bit hotter than 2010, an amount within the margin of error. It’s true that the underlying scientific report made that clear, but the NASA press release didn’t, which gives us an opening. Most importantly, Margin-Of-Error-Gate helpfully distracts from the other inconvenient finding by the world’s leading scientists: that the three hottest years on record are 2005, 2010 and 2014

The hottest on record you say?  And it’s based on 3,000 weather stations around the world?  And when were these datasets operable?  Did you say the LATE 1970’S!  Of course you didn’t, Mr. Batten.  That would require honesty.  It would probably be helpful if you told the reader that these 3,000 weather stations aren’t distributed evenly across the planet, too.

And of course, Mr. Batten forgot to include that an array of scientist are claiming NASA/NOAA misled, deceived, and outright lied about 2014 being the hottest year on record.  Also, he left out the fact that satellites have recorded an 18 year global pause in temperature.

So what are we to believe?  I know who I don’t believe: Taylor Batten, Charlotte Observer’s editorial page editor.

Two NC Congressmen Defy Republican Establishment

I am proud to say two congressmen from North Carolina voted against Speaker Boehner.  Their constituents wanted a change in leadership and they listened, unlike many others, including my congressman, Robert Pittenger.

 — Two U.S. House Republicans from North Carolina were part of a GOP bloc that voted Tuesday against re-electing Ohio Congressman John Boehner as House speaker, while one conservative Republican reversed course and backed the sometimes controversial leader.
Boehner was re-elected to the top job in the U.S. House despite opposition from conservatives.
Eleventh District Congressman Mark Meadows and 3rd District Congressman Walter Jones, both conservative North Carolina Republicans, voted against Boehner, according to news reports. Instead, they backed Florida Republican Congressman Dan Webster, a favorite among the tea party. Boehner is unpopular with the more stridently conservative wing of the GOP.
Meanwhile, Mark Walker, a conservative freshman representing the Greensboro-based 6th Congressional District, issued a news release to explain why he backed Boehner.
"This was a difficult vote, as I share the frustrations expressed by many of my constituents, but I cast my vote today with a sense of optimism," Walker said in a news release. "I plan to keep the speaker, and the whole House leadership team, accountable – to encourage them to pass conservative legislation and not buckle under pressure from the White House or Senate. When I believe legislation is not in the best interests of the 6th District of North Carolina and the American people, I will have no problems voting against leadership."

And what was Rep. Robert Pittenger’s response to Cromnibus that he voted for? ‘Let’s go govern!’  Yeah, that’s why I didn’t vote for him in the primary or in the general election.  Pittenger is an establishment sycophant and a disgrace to his district.

Rep. Robert Pittenger Votes With D.C. Establishment to Extend Federal Debt

Rep. Robert Pittenger is showing himself to be just another weasel in the D.C. hen house.  It didn’t take him long to cozy up to the Republican establishment.   Pittenger made his bones when he voted to fund Obamacare and extend the national debt another 1.1 trillion dollars.  Here is how he justified stabbing us in the back:

Last night's bill allows a few months for substantive negotiations on bringing Washington’s reckless spending under control. This gives conferees Paul Ryan, Tom Cole, Tom Price, and Diane Black the opportunity to get a deal done. Each are strong fiscal conservatives.

The recent debate over defunding Obamacare was a noble objective, but one I repeatedly warned was doomed to failure. I value the Constitutional budgetary role of the House. You probably know that Obamacare was written as 98-99% mandatory spending, which is why House Republicans couldn't stop the bill through a shutdown. Also, many of the most harmful aspects of the law are the mandates, regulations, and taxes - these were untouched during the shutdown and would require Obama's signature to overturn.

Every day, I hear from multiple constituents who face drastically higher healthcare premiums, reduced benefits, or reduced job opportunities due to Obamacare. After securing critical funding for our military, I was willing to participate in a principled fight on behalf of my constituents, but as I predicted, President Obama did everything in his power to protect his signature legislation. Obamacare, good or bad, will be his legacy.

Thank you for supporting me and other Republicans last year. Please know that I'm doing everything possible to encourage job growth now and chart a sustainable path for federal government spending in the long-term.

Does Mr. Pittenger honestly believe these negotiations will fare better?  How many times have the Republicans caved in only to promise they’ll win the next fight?  Yet, he has the balls to post this picture on his Facebook page after his disgusting vote:

No, I do not support you Mr. Pittenger.  You’ve shown yourself to be a go along to get along republican.  What the 9th Congressional District of North Carolina needs is a principled fighter who will protect his constituents from the Washington D.C. establishment.

I wonder if Mr. Pendergraph is still available.

Senator Richard Burr Preens His Obamacare Feathers

North Carolina republicans have a riff in their congressional delegation.  All have ceremoniously voted to defund Obamacare.  A few refuse to take the full measure, which would entail a showdown on funding the general government.  Here are the weak kneed:  Senator Richard Burr, Rep. Robert Pittenger, Rep. Renee Elmers, and Rep. Patrick McHenry.

When it comes to preening feathers, politicians will make a big show.  But when it comes time to put up or shut up, the gamers tuck tail and run.  The excuse for the impertinent four is that the Senate will not vote to defund Obamacare; so, they're willing to let this monstrosity exist and enslave us all to a bureaucratic and financial hell.

Senator Richard Burr stated that threatening to defund Obamacare and potentially “shutting down the government” was the stupidest idea he ever heard of.  Well, you just became the poster child for repealing the 17th Amendment.  If the state legislatures had the ability to appoint senators we wouldn’t have populism run amuck.  And the federal government wouldn’t run roughshod over the States and their citizens.

Rep. Robert Pittenger Refuses to Defund Obamacare

Robert Pittenger is a huge disappointment.  He has proven himself to be a good ole boy, ingratiating himself with the D.C. clique.  The first head turning moment came when he proposed a collaboration with Democrats in order to “get things done.”  That usually means we bend over and take it.

Recently, a constituent at a town hall meeting asked if Rep. Robert Pittenger would defund Obamacare.  He rudely said no.  I know that is not what I voted for in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District primary.  And believe me; I along with many others will not forget this.

Rep. Robert Pittenger Already Betraying Conservatives

Congressman Robert Pittenger has been in office a couple of months and he is already betraying those of us who sent him there.  The representative of North Carolina’s ninth district announced that he wants to establish a bipartisan council to “address our nation’s fiscal issues.”

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Robert Pittenger (R-NC) and Congressman Patrick E. Murphy (D-FL will be joined by a bipartisan group of freshman members at a press conference on Thursday, February 14th at 12:30 p.m. at the House Radio-TV Gallery’s HVC Studio A. The group of Republican and Democratic freshman members have been meeting over the past several weeks to craft a statement of bipartisan principles to address the nation’s fiscal issues, including Social Security and Medicare reform, tax reform, and streamlining government, which will be outlined at the press conference. More than 2 dozen House members of both parties are active participants.

 DETAILS:

WHO: Representatives Patrick E. Murphy and Robert Pittenger

WHAT: Bipartisan Freshman Members Announce Statement of Principles For a Bipartisan Approach to Fiscal Issues

WHEN: 12:30 p.m., Thursday, February 14th

WHERE: House Radio-TV Gallery, HVC Studio A

I believe there has been plenty of bipartisanship in Washington D.C.  I would say $17 trillion worth of it.   And let’s not forget our loss of liberty with that cooperation.
Congressman Pittenger, I voted for you specifically because of your reputation.  You were considered a rabid partisan, and that’s what we expect.  You cannot compromise with these Democrats.  These people do not negotiate in good faith.  You of all people should know that by now.
