Governor Roy Cooper's "The Ends Justify the Means" Agenda

Republicans who abstained from voting for Governor Pat McCrory will rue the day Roy Cooper takes office.  Cooper is a proven radical who picks and chooses laws he will uphold and defend.  This man’s arrogance cost North Carolinians millions of dollars because the state had to hire outside counsel to ensure the rule of law was followed.  This man betrayed our interest to satisfy out of state radicals who were funding his campaign coffers.

One of those radical groups is the environmental lobby.  Cooper provided his quid pro quo to the watermelon people by naming Michael Regan as Secretary of the Department of Environmental Quality.  Here is an excerpt from the Civitas Institute:

Until recently, Regan was a Senior Official of the radical Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). He served with the EDF since 2008 and his most recent position was as Associate Vice President, U.S. Climate and Energy & Southeast Regional Director.
EDF is a mega non-profit with reported assets over $204 million in 2015 with an agenda that rivals the most radical of environmental groups. Fully supporting President Obama’s climate agenda that included his War on Coal (an effort to shut down all coal-fired power plants) EDF ran political ads against Republican senators in 2013.
More important is the role Regan and the EDF had with Blueprint NC, the liberal umbrella organization that is known for producing and releasing a 2013 strategy memo that described a game plan for progressive groups to use to attack (by “crippling”) the newly elected Republican governor and leaders in the Republican-majority House and Senate.  The memo directed its members to “eviscerate, mitigate, litigate, cogitate and agitate” the state’s Republican leadership.
And as for the all those “conservatives” whose main reason for opposing a McCrory second term over this I-77 toll road project, here is mud in your eye.  Cooper appointed Jim Trogden as Transportation Secretary.  He is a huge proponent of public/private sector projects.
WSOC TV reports that after Trogdon left NC DOT in 2013 he went to work for Atkins. WSOC TV reports:“Atkins is an engineering firm that works with P3 projects– public and private partnerships to build things like toll lanes.”
WSOC also reported that while serving with Atkins, Trogdon penned an article called “To Toll or Not To Toll.”
“Tolling appears superior to all other options,” Trogdon argues. “Degraded trip reliability, congestion and lost productivity appear more costly than tolls. In short, tolling proved beneficial to those who value their time.”
In light of the Trogdon appointment, Cooper has said that his opinion of the I-77 toll road hasn’t changed. Many political observers attribute Cooper’s victory to the damage done to McCrory in the I-77 toll road corridor. McCrory finished over 30k votes behind other GOP candidates in the precincts most impacted.
Governor Roy Cooper is “an ends justifies the means” type of guy.  When the General Assembly passed a provision requiring cabinet level appointments must have advice and consent from the Senate, Mr. Pen and Phone went to the courts and sued our elected representatives.  Doesn’t that remind you of someone else?  It reminds me of a certain someone who is about to leave office on January 20th.

Russian Financiers Employ Environmentalist to Derail U.S. Fracking

Well, what do you know?  Russian financiers have been funding environmentalist groups in order to derail U.S. companies from fracking.  Our enemies know who to employ when it comes to their interest.  Here is an excerpt from the Washington Free Beacon:

A shadowy Bermudan company that has funneled tens of millions of dollars to anti-fracking environmentalist groups in the United States is run by executives with deep ties to Russian oil interests and offshore money laundering schemes involving members of President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle.

One of those executives, Nicholas Hoskins, is a director at a hedge fund management firm that has invested heavily in Russian oil and gas. He is also senior counsel at the Bermudan law firm Wakefield Quin and the vice president of a London-based investment firm whose president until recently chaired the board of the state-owned Russian oil company Rosneft.

In addition to those roles, Hoskins is a director at a company called Klein Ltd. No one knows where that firm’s money comes from. Its only publicly documented activities have been transfers of $23 million to U.S. environmentalist groups that push policies that would hamstring surging American oil and gas production, which has hurt Russia’s energy-reliant economy.

Not only do we have Russians financing environmentalist groups, so does the EPA under the auspices of the Obama administration.  Coincidence, anyone?

Environmentalist Conspire to Bypass Treaty Making Rules

Progressives have been on a crusade to undermine the U.S. Constitution well over a century.  The 1946 Administrative Procedure Act was a godsend to totalitarians who scoff at the concept of a republican form of government.  This law created a fourth branch of government that works independently of Congress.  Soon, the totalitarians that infest these bureaucracies will implement laws that circumvent the treaty making process and undermine our sovereignty.

The Environmental Protection Agency has provided a blueprint on how to bypass our Constitution, and subsequently Congress, by funding special interest groups, and in turn, they sue the federal government i.e. the EPA, who then settles out of court, advancing that agencies agenda and power.  Devious isn’t it?  Well now, they’re taking this show on an international stage.

The Obama administration and his leftist minions just can’t seem to get the Senate to betray the American people with a Kyoto-style environmental treaty.  They know this will never happen without a full blown revolt.  Instead, they’ll use the courts to advance their agenda, just like they’ve done before.  CNS reported the following:

It’s quite clear under Article 2, Section 2 of the Constitution that after the president signs it, any binding international law agreement has to be ratified by the Senate,” Horner explained.

But he noted that “activist green groups, in conjunction with the New York attorney general’s office, have already developed plans to use the federal courts to force Americans to drastically reduce their energy consumption whether or not Obama signs a new climate change treaty in Paris next year” to replace the expired Kyoto Protocol.

Horner predicted the White House strategy in a 2009 paper published by the Federalist Society, in which he wrote: “It appears that Kyoto will be the subject of a controversial effort to sharply revise U.S. environmental treaty practice…. waiving the Constitution’s requirement of Senate ratification by reclassifying the product of talks as a congressional-Executive agreement, not a treaty.” (See Kyoto II ...Emerging Strategy.pdf)

”You can’t just dismiss this if you know what they’re trying to do,” Horner said, pointing to a copy of a court pleading drafted by environmental activists that he received from the New York attorney general’s office under a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request two years ago.

The draft lawsuit argues that the federal government should be required to honor its international commitments even if they are not ratified by the Senate.

The strategy was confirmed in June by Yvo De Boer, the UN’s former climate chief. “If the U.S. feels that ‘internationally legally binding’ has little value, and that the real value lies in legally-binding national commitments, then these regulations can be the way for the U.S. to show leadership,” De Boer said.

“We know where this is going,” Horner told CNSNews.com. “As they intend, it will end up in the courts, not the Senate. The issue would come down to 'How do you implement it?' and that is where stunts like the NY AG's come in. You get a court to turn these gestures into law and/or a friendly administration to roll over and get a court's blessing by settling a ‘sue-and-settle’ case.”

“You can’t trust the courts not to do that, and it will be as good as ratifying” a climate treaty as far as Americans are concerned, added Horner, author of Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmists Use Threats, Fraud and Deception to Keep You Misinformed.

And the totalitarians at the EPA get more and more power, while the American people lose their liberties.

Activist Already Protesting in Charlotte, NC

An air of discontent is spreading through the rank and file of the Democratic Party. Protestors are streaming into the Queen City with their hand painted signs. What’s notable about these malcontents is their association with environmental groups. The very constituency that Obama and the DNC have pandered to for years.

The sidewalk demonstration was orchestrated by the environmental group Greenpeace and the Coalition to March on Wall Street, an umbrella organization of about 70 groups planning to protest at the Sept. 4-6 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.

Greenpeace field organizer Monica Embrey said Duke is aligned with the DNC, the chief fundraising organization for the party.

Duke, which recently merged with Progress Energy to form the largest U.S. utility, has used its size and influence to impact the Democratic Party, Embrey said.

For instance, she noted that Duke had given an in-kind donation of $1 million worth of donated office space for the DNC in advance of the convention.

Charlotte is in for a rude awakening. All of those Obamabots with their 2012 bumper stickers will be running for cover when the shit hits the fan. Welcome to the big leagues “uptown” crowd.
