Amendment for Voter ID on North Carolina Ballot

If you live in North Carolina, it is imperative that you get out and vote.  There are six amendments to our state constitution. One of them requires a voter I.D.  We have a number of counties that are suspected of voter fraud and are being investigated by the the federal government.  An amendment is an important barrier to ensure the integrity of the vote and emphasize the importance of citizenship.

North Carolina Puts Voter ID on the Ballot

Civitas supports legislation requiring all voters to present a voter photo ID when casting a ballot. Our most recent poll shows the majority of likely voters support it, too.

I remember watching poll results for Alabama’s special election for the U.S. Senate when something occurred to me: why are only 2% of Montgomery County precincts being reported? All other counties were finished or nearly finished tabulating their votes except for Montgomery. Then an avalanche of votes for Doug Jones came sliding in, ultimately handing this Democrat a victory.

What happened? Well, if we’re to believe the mainstream media, blacks turned out in record number for a special election. Their numbers even exceeded Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential election. Here is what NPR reported about this historic turnout:

Black voters made up 29 percent of the electorate in Alabama's special Senate election, according to exit polling. That percentage is slightly more than the percentage of Black voters in the state who turned out for Barack Obama in 2012. And a full 96 percent of Black voters in Alabama Tuesday supported Jones, including 98 percent of African-American women. "Black women led us to victory. Black women are the backbone of the Democratic party," Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez tweeted Wednesday morning, "and we can't take that for granted. Period."

And we’re expected to believe there were no shenanigans in this “special” election. Hogwash!

Citizens must have faith that their elections are valid and Democratic Party proof. What I mean by that is tamper proof and the best way to ensure the integrity of the ballot is to banish same-day registration and implement voter ID.

We can hear the howling now. North Carolina is putting Voter ID on the ballot as a constitutional amendment. Here is what the editorial board at the Charlotte Observer had to say:

Rep. John Sauls, a Lee County Republican who is a primary sponsor of the constitutional amendment, said, “Our state must not tolerate anyone’s vote being threatened because lawmakers failed to prevent fraud.”

What a sham. For years, Republicans in North Carolina alleged that in-person fraudulent voting is rampant. Then, in April 2017, the state Board of Elections released the results of an extensive, objective audit of the 2016 election. It found that out of almost 4.8 million votes cast, one fraudulent vote probably would have been avoided with a photo voter ID law. One!

If Sauls is worried about lawmakers failing to prevent fraud, he should pay more attention to Russian hacking or mail-in absentee-ballot fraud, both of which pose bigger threats than someone showing up at the polls illegitimately.

Another misguided justification? “Moore emphasized that North Carolinians show IDs for far more trivial matters than participating in elections,” his press release said.

Voting, unlike driving or buying strong narcotic cough medicine, is a constitutional right. The others are privileges. Americans should not have to jump through artificial – and for a small number of people, substantial – hoops to exercise their constitutional rights.

Russian hacking? Really? Oh yeah, I’m sure those pesky Russians are working night and day determining which party controls North Carolina's General Assembly. What a bunch of maroons.

Voting isn’t a constitutional right. People have to meet certain qualifications to vote. Voting privileges can be taken away from a citizen; a constitutional right cannot. This is the kind of stupidity we have to deal with in the mainstream media.

If North Carolinians pass a constitutional amendment for voter ID, you can damn well bet libtard organizations will find a judge to rule this measure unconstitutional. Liberals say they believe in democracy, but only the kind they approve.

Ex-Sen. Russ Feingold is a Bitter, Lawless Man

Russ Feingold, an ex-senator from Wisconsin, is a bitter man. He lost an election that should be embarrassing to anyone with his kind of name recognition. Have you noticed any time a democrat loses an election, they always blame the voters.  Why would the country shun the “party of the people”?  They must be white supremacists.  Yeah, that has to be it.

Americans are not a racist people despite what the Russ Feingolds say about us.  We don’t divide people into subsets with labels like Democrats do.  We respect the rule of law, equality under the law and the value of citizenship.  Democrats have demonstrated time after time that they do not.  Here is an excerpt from Russ Feingold’s op-ed in the Guardian:

The lesson from Charlottesville is not how dangerous the neo-Nazis are. It is the unmasking of the Republican party leadership. In the wake of last weekend’s horror and tragedy, let us finally, finally rip off the veneer that Trump’s affinity for white supremacy is distinct from the Republican agenda of voter suppression, renewed mass incarceration and the expulsion of immigrants.

There is a direct link between Trump’s comments this week and those policies, so where is the outrage about the latter? Where are the Republican leaders denouncing voter suppression as racist, un-American and dangerous? Where are the Republican leaders who are willing to call out the wink (and the direct endorsement) from President Trump to the white supremacists and acknowledge their own party’s record and stance on issues important to people of color as the real problem for our country?

Since when is verifying the legitimacy of a voter un-American?  This should be common sense.  We have a serious problem with the integrity of our voter rolls.  National Review published an article that is quite disturbing.  Here is an excerpt:

The Election Integrity Project of Judicial Watch — a Washington-based legal-watchdog group — analyzed data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2011–2015 American Community Survey and last month’s statistics from the federal Election Assistance Commission. The latter included figures provided by 38 states. According to Judicial Watch, eleven states gave the EAC insufficient or questionable information. Pennsylvania’s legitimate numbers place it just below the over-registration threshold.

My tabulation of Judicial Watch’s state-by-state results yielded 462 counties where the registration rate exceeded 100 percent. There were 3,551,760 more people registered to vote than adult U.S. citizens who inhabit these counties.

“That’s enough over-registered voters to populate a ghost-state about the size of Connecticut,” Judicial Watch attorney Robert Popper told me.

Asking a voter to provide an ID is not suppression.  What an absurd statement. Feingold’s assertion that we have mass expulsion of immigrants is grossly misleading.  Illegal aliens do not have a right to be in this country.  They are not supposed to be here. We have laws against that.

The reasons why Democrats lose elections have nothing to do with race. If anything, they’re losing elections because they are a lawless party.

Liberals Suppress Logic on Voter ID and Early Voting

Liberals are amusing.  They’ll argue on a subject with a righteous certainty and indignation without understanding the topic at hand.  One only has to read the comments section in the News and Observer to get a taste of their twisted logic.

The subject, once again, was voter ID and early voting.  Liberals believe requiring an ID and limiting the number of days is suppression.  Here is a short blurb on how that conversation went.

The liberal Dumbocrats would have people voting at the mall 7 days a week if they thought they could gain some illegal votes! There are implications to added voting days of cost and personnel, none of which is a right, but added onto again and again! It's called ELECTION DAY for a reason folks!

TomE: No, what is happening is conservaturds are throwing roadblocks in the way of legal voters. There is nothing sacred about the second Tuesday in November. Why ban Sunday voting? I'l give you a hint, bigot- Souls to the polls!

Thomas Parker, what about ELECTION DAY do you not understand?

Paul Maxwell ·

Tom Eller Here's the part that YOU do not understand. In 1792, federal law permitted each state to conduct presidential elections in the state (i.e., to choose their electors) at any time in a 34-day period before the first Wednesday of December, which was the day set for the meeting of the electors of the U.S. president and vice-president (the Electoral College), in their respective states. In 1845 the 34 day period was reduced to 29 days, making November 2 the earliest and November 8 the latest day for us to cast our own votes. So, ELECTION DAY is actually the first Wednesday in December. The individual states can have as many days as they wish to allow citizens to vote before the appropriate Tuesday in November. Of course, if you were home schooled, or only listen to FOX or Rush, or only read Brietbart or Drudge, you might not be aware of some aspects of American History, or of our Constitution.

Aside from all that, the GOP in NC is most certainly attempting voter suppression and by now are making no bones about it.They must be scared sh*tless

So, we have a genius from the University of Virginia lecturing North Carolinians on the Electoral College, which no one was discussing, yet conceding that individual states can determine the time frame citizens are allowed to vote. But of course, according to Paul Maxwell, republicans are uneducated, racist pigs trying to suppress the vote.

You have to laugh at these people.

Early Theft Begins in North Carolina

Early theft began in North Carolina yesterday.  Absentee voters can file their ballots two months prior to Election Day without added insight of debates or the usual October surprise provided by a biased media.  However, you still have to provide some form of ID on the request form.  That’s more than what’s required at the polls, thanks to liberal judges.

These activists in black robes openly declared the citizens of the Old North State a bunch of racist bigots for ensuring the integrity of the vote.  If you ask me the real bigots are these black robed thugs who have implicitly stated minorities are too stupid and lazy to present an ID and vote within the prescribed time by our state legislators.  Here is what one bigot judge had to say:

Citing "the inextricable link between race and politics in North Carolina," a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit said state lawmakers intentionally imposed the restrictions to make it more difficult for blacks to vote.

"The new provisions target African Americans with almost surgical precision," the judges said. "They constitute inapt remedies for the problems assertedly justifying them and, in fact, impose cures for problems that did not exist."

Where in this legislation did it say only blacks must show an ID or vote within a prescribed time frame?  It doesn’t.  But that didn’t stop these demigods in black robes from divining the intent of our state’s legislators.

I find it amazing the director of the FBI can state Hillary Clinton had no criminal intent when she conducted government business on a private server in her basement, destroyed subpoenaed emails with bleachbit and demolished cell phones with hammers; yet, these black robed thugs can strike down a state law because they believe it was intended to disenfranchise minority voters.  Unbelievable.

Absentee ballots and same day registration are the vehicles for voter fraud and we all know what party benefits from that.  We also know what party these federal judges belong too as well.

Progressives Scheme to Nationalize the United States

The nationalization of the United States is well on its way.  Progressives are attacking our Constitution and federalist system at every turn.  We see it in our major cities.  Obama’s Justice Department has taken over local police departments based on specious claims of racism. HUD is forcing affluent communities to change zoning laws to accommodate Section 8 housing at taxpayers’ expense, of course.  But the holy grail of nationalization is voting.  Progressives want to take away States’ rights of self-government by attacking the integrity of the vote.

The Obama administration, along with various progressive organizations, has sued states that have abolished same day voting and require voter ID, again, on specious claims of racism.  The dirty little secret is they want non-citizens to vote and one of the biggest advocates of open borders is George Soros.  His Open Society Foundation is hell bent on destroying the premise of citizenship and a nation-state.  Leaked documents reveal a plan to flood the United States with 10 million “voters” by 2018.  Here is an excerpt from the Free Beacon:

The guide covers strategies and tactics the group will employ in the United States from 2015 to 2018. The top goals listed by the guide are to “advance electoral reform” and “combat suppression.”

“The following four goals form the scaffolding of U.S. Programs’ work,” the guide states. “1. An American democracy strengthened through increased meaningful participation, inclusive practice, and accountability.” The third strategic goal expands upon this, calling for “Full political, economic, and civic participation of immigrants and communities of color by dismantling the barriers and strengthening the conduits to opportunity.”

Later, the guide discusses expanding the electorate by “at least 10 million voters” in the United States. This would be accomplished “by lowering barriers to voter registration through the various forms of modernization and increased ballot access while sustaining and expanding the franchise by establishing strong protections against vote suppression, denial and dilution.

The best way to destroy our republic is to demean citizenship and nationalize elections.  George Soros’s Open Society Foundation isn’t so open about their real intentions.

Democrats Mobilize to Strike Down Voter ID Laws

You would think Americans could agree on laws like Voter ID.  Reasonable people would conclude this is common sense legislation that ensures the integrity of the vote.  But once again, we are mistaken.  Progressives don’t care about integrity of the vote.  What they want is to steal elections.

Democrats have hired a super-lawyer to contest voting laws around the country.  Marc Elias represents a consortium of liberal organizations and has a multi-million dollar deal with the devil himself, George Soros.  Somebody has to finance this totalitarian power grab.

Progressives would have us believe that minorities are too stupid and lazy to obtain an ID, or register to vote in a timely fashion.  What they want is same day voting without proof of residency.  This is how Barack Obama and the Democratic Party stole the vote in the 2008 election in North Carolina.  Here is a video by the Civitas Institute explaining how that was done.

Federal Court Steals North Carolina's Sovereignty

North Carolina is having its sovereignty stolen by unelected and unaccountable federal judges.  Recently, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against voter identification at the polls.  Mind you these people are not disinterested arbiters of law.

This court is peopled with rank partisans that are trying to strip our citizenry of self-government.  They want to hijack the political process in favor of one party rule.  The Civitas Institute reported the machinations of Judge Jim Wynn who has been continuously rejected by North Carolinians for elected office and for good reason.

Wynn also has a close working relationship with the head of one of the organizations challenging the VIVA law – the Rev. William Barber, president of the NC NAACP. On one of Barber’s resumes, he lists organizing a “Get Out to vote Rally and Radio-Thon” that included Judge Jim Wynn and only Democrat candidates and politicians, hardly a non-partisan “get out the vote” affair. At the time Wynn was running for Supreme Court, the race he lost to Republican Newby.
Wynn has not confined his efforts to election law. He also was the dissenting vote in a March decision on North Carolina’s pro-life license plate. He again wanted to invalidate the actions of the NC legislature. The majority of the panel upheld the law.
The VIVA decision by the 4th Circuit overruled the decision by U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Schroeder upholding the law in a 485-page written opinion. In their decision, the Fourth Circuit panel did not refute Schroeder’s facts, nor did they find evidence of anyone actually being denied the ability to vote.
Judicial activism is a serious problem that has to be dealt with.  Mark Levin featured Daniel Horowitz and his book, Stolen Sovereignty.  We are reminded that Americans do have a constitutional path to check reprobate judges.
Congress can limit the power of these District Courts if only they had the political will to stop them.

Racist NAACP Requires ID to Participate in Protest

Irony and logic are lost on liberals.  North Carolina’s NAACP chapter is organizing another “Moral Monday” march to protest Voter ID laws, but something went awry on the way to Raleigh.  This organization, which believes requiring a form of identification to vote is racist, requires one to participate at their rallies.  Why these people are a bunch of racist!

NC Voter ID Law an Impediment for the Stupid, Incompetent and Lazy

Advocates for “just show up and vote” are trying to strike down a North Carolina law that requires a photo ID.  They would have us believe that today’s requirements are more onerous than the Jim Crow era.  Here is an excerpt from the Winston-Salem Journal:

Rosanell Eaton, 94, has been a registered voter for more than 70 years.

As a black woman growing up in the Jim Crow South, she had to read the preamble of the U.S. Constitution in order to register to vote. Last year, she was forced to make 10 trips to the N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles and other state offices so she could vote in this year’s elections.

That’s because of North Carolina’s new photo ID requirement, which goes into effect this election cycle. According to attorneys with the N.C. NAACP, the new requirement forced Eaton to spend more than 20 hours to obtain a photo ID. Her name was spelled differently on the other forms of identification that she needed for a photo ID.

Do progressives really want us to believe that attendants at a voters registration office in the Jim Crow South would require a person to read the preamble without first verifying the legitimacy of the voter?  If the Jim Crow South was hell bent on not allowing blacks to vote, I do believe they would’ve demanded proof of residency.  But hey, that’s just a thought.

Last month, I had an experience at Wal-Mart where a cashier refused my credit card because my crappy North Carolina license had crumpled apart.  They required a photo ID.  I had to reorder another one which only took a week.  I’ve had to use a photo ID on many occasions.  How can these people go through life without one?

One gets the feeling when reading this article that the overall attitude by progressives is that minorities are incompetent and stupid.   Here is another excerpt:

Plaintiffs have also argued that blacks and Hispanics are more likely to live in places where there isn’t public transportation. They also point to racial disparities in household incomes, literacy rates and access to private cars as potential obstacles to efforts by blacks and Hispanics to obtain a photo ID.

One of the plaintiffs, Maria Del Carmen Sanchez, had to make numerous trips to the DMV because her name is presented differently because of naming conventions in Hispanic culture, attorneys for the plaintiffs said.

If they don’t have access to public transportation or private vehicles then how in the hell are they going to get to the polls?  If you can’t read, how can you vote, or have an educated understanding on the issues of the day?  And if a wannabe voter can’t provide their correct name, then whose fault is that?  Why are we making excuses for stupid, incompetent and lazy people?  This is not a difficult process!

Democrats Shameless Lies about N.C. Voter Suppression and Fraud

I don’t know how many editorials I’ve read from the numerous Observers in the state of North Carolina about evil republicans trying to suppress black voters.  We all know it’s a lie.  How is it unreasonable to require a person to show an I.D. at the polls?  The answer is it’s not.  What about liberal assertions that there is no voter fraud in North Carolina?  That too is a lie.

Carolina Journal Radio interviewed J. Christian Adams of National Review about these issues and more.  Here is an excerpt.

Kokai: In looking at these changes, another big one that did not come up in this part of the trial, but is a big piece of the law — voter ID. Do the Democrats and their allies have anything on their side in saying that voter ID is somehow discriminatory and would prevent people from heading to the polls because they’re in a minority group?

Adams: Well, looking at the law around the country, there have been a lot of cases that have been fought that I follow: Texas, South Carolina, just to name a few. The law that North Carolina has passed makes it almost impossible not to get a voter ID. In other words, you have to try really hard to mess this up. And so it’s free, it’s easy to obtain. … If you were born to a midwife, let’s say in 1925, one of the favorite examples that the opponents will cite, you know what? Then you can go to the polls and vote and execute an affidavit to say that you had a hardship.

So there is really nobody, nobody being blocked from the polls. Contrast that to what was going on in 1960. I mean, think about that. Think about the morally bankrupt, racially discriminatory policies throughout much of the country that literally did stop people from voting. To try to claim that moral mantle from 70 years ago and to say that you can’t get a free, easy-to-use voter ID is just — frankly, it’s disgraceful.

Kokai: Now one of the things that we have heard from the proponents of many of these changes is that, “Hey, we really are just trying to tighten up the rules so that we have less of a chance of voter fraud.” And then you hear from the critics, “But there is no voter fraud. There is no evidence of voter fraud.” How do these changes fit in with this whole effort of trying to improve the integrity of the elections?

Adams: First of all, the Supreme Court of the United States said you don’t actually have to have voter fraud to pass regulations about elections. You can prevent it. You can pass a law that is to prevent it from happening.

But even given that, even given that, there is, in fact, voter fraud. North Carolina has staggering numbers of people who are registered to vote in multiple places.

Look at the city of Pembroke. There is a great example that drove this legislation. The city of Pembroke, using same-day registration — which means you just show up to vote, you haven’t registered to vote, you just show up at the polls and say, “I’m here to vote,” and you announce yourself — the city of Pembroke was so overwhelmed by bogus ballots in a local election, they had to do it over again because of same-day registration.

Democrats are shameless rascals.
