Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: I Need More Money, You American Ingrates!

AOC has become the belle of Washington D.C. This privileged status has endowed her with an entitlement mentality. Apparently, she’s not being paid enough to support her living expenses and staff. It’s not enough that Americans have to endure her ignorance and outright stupidity, but now we have to listen to her whining.

Members of Congress often vote to cut or keep their allowances low.

It’s a superficial gesture, bc keeping Congressional pay low is what creates the desperation + impetus for good, experienced staff to flee to lobbyist jobs.

Raising staffer pay helps get money out of politics.

Same w/ member pay.

Members are paid more than avg - but job reqs 2 residences + we can’t take tax deductions for work costs.

No one wants to be the one to bring up increases, so instead ppl take advantage of insider trading loopholes & don’t close them for the extra cash.

I’ve a better idea, why don’t we limit the amount of time Congress is in session? Hell, they’ve practically abrogated their constitutional responsibilities to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats and low-level judges. We have district courts dictating policy everyday. What good is Congress? It seems to me, most of their time is spent on vacation anyway. 

Let’s kill two birds with one stone. We’ll implement limited congressional sessions and telecommunication. After that, they have no need for a huge staff and we can reduce their pay. Problem solved! How about it, AOC?
