Minarets: A Symbol of Resistance to the Secular State
The people of Switzerland have banned minarets. They have come to recognize Islam for what it is: A political project that threatens Western Europe.
Radu Stoenescu, a philosopher, participated in a debate about the ban. He advanced the argument that a minaret represents the jurisdiction of Sharia Law and that the call to prayer, in essence, is a call to resist the secular state.
Europe has been the frontline of this clash of civilizations for decades. The citizens of the United States had better take heed. If you allow immigrants into your country, who believe their culture and way of life is superior to yours, there is going to be a confrontation.
