Stop Assault Hammer Loopholes!

All right, that’s it!  It’s time for everyone to register their hammers.  I want a database on every hammer that was sold in the United States.  You carpenters out there are criminals; the equivalent of child molesters.  You can’t be trusted with that lethal weapon.  You must wear the scarlet letter “H” because you are obviously a threat to mankind.  And let’s not forget the weekend warrior.  Yeah, you know who I’m talking about.  I’m talking about that beastly, white male who does projects around the house, because his nagging wife won’t leave him alone.  That's a police tape and chalk outline if I ever saw one.

What am I raving about?  Hammers of course.  Hammers are more dangerous than rifles.  And we need to do something about it, now!

The FBI has reported that more people are killed by that assault tool, known as a hammer, than rifles.  Breitbart.com reported the following:

Think about it: In 2005, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 445, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 605. In 2006, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 438, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 618.

And so the list goes, with the actual numbers changing somewhat from year to year, yet the fact that more people are killed with blunt objects each year remains constant.
For example, in 2011, there was 323 murders committed with a rifle but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs.

While the FBI makes is clear that some of the "murder by rifle" numbers could be adjusted up slightly, when you take into account murders with non-categorized types of guns, it does not change the fact that their annual reports consistently show more lives are taken each year with these blunt objects than are taken with Feinstein's dreaded rifle.

Another interesting fact: According to the FBI, nearly twice as many people are killed by hands and fists each year than are killed by murderers who use rifles.

We need to nip this in the bud.  I want a ban on all hardware store loopholes.  No one should be able to buy this assault tool without the authority of a federal government agent.
