Federal Government to Add Another $1.2 Trillion to National Debt

Here we are again. It was last August when Congress raised the debt ceiling. Now, the federal government is in need of another $1.2 trillion to pays its bills. This time the scoundrels are out of town and no one is left to contest this outrage.

The approval is expected to go through without a challenge, given that Congress is in recess until later in January and the request is in line with an agreement to keep the U.S. government funded into 2013.

The debt is projected to fall within $100 billion of the current cap by December 30, when the United States has $82 billion in interest on its debt and payments such as Social Security coming due. President Barack Obama is expected to ask for authority to increase the borrowing limit by $1.2 trillion, part of the spending authority that was negotiated between Congress and the White House this summer.

Under the agreement struck in August during the showdown over the government's debt limit, the cap is automatically raised unless Congress votes to block the debt-ceiling extension. Lawmakers have 15 days within receiving the request to vote, which is largely symbolic because the president can veto it and Congress would be unlikely to muster the two-thirds majority to override it. Moreover, the U.S. House of Representatives also is in recess until January 17.

Well, what do you know? The fix is in. What a bunch of shameless bastards.

Barney Frank's "Gratuitous Nastiness" Won't be Missed

When Barney Frank announced his retirement, it was as if Christmas came early. How many times have we watched this nasty excuse of a human being berate his constituents and political opponents? I’ve often wondered about his district. What kind of people would allow a man of such low character to represent them in Washington D.C. for 32 years?

Here is an excerpt from an article written by Jeff Jacoby outlining a career of “gratuitous nastiness”:

Frank has long been "one of the most notorious bullies" on Capitol Hill, remarked Dana Milbank in The Washington Post. The Massachusetts Democrat will be remembered not just for his left-wing politics or as the first openly gay member of Congress, but also for his "gratuitous nastiness," as Milbank put it – the public tongue-lashings, the spiteful mockery, the caustic abuse of aides, the almost routine willingness to tell people how stupid they are. This isn't just impatience; Frank plainly takes a certain pleasure in publicly humiliating his victims. It isn't hard to find stories of Frank berating someone to the point of tears. But I have never heard of him apologizing for it afterward.

Ironically – or maybe it's just human nature – Barney Frank has no trouble excoriating in others the ugly behavior to which he so often resorts. He has been unsparing toward Newt Gingrich, for example,
describing him as having "made a career out of attacking people around here and trying to rip them apart." I have heard him caution his allies on the left about the importance of "showing a bit of respect for cultural values with which you disagree," and admonishing them not to "call people bigots and fools just because you disagree with them."

But when Frank – who often condemns the sour tone in Washington and Congress -- was politely asked on NBC's "Today" show last week whether he might have contributed to the bitterness in the Capitol, his answer was no. Instead,
he nastily scolded the anchor for her "negative approach."

And for good measure, here is an example of Barney’s contempt for his constituents:

Good Riddance 111th Congress

While everyone was preoccupied with the holidays, the 111th Congress was busy bitch slapping Santa and shoving coal in our stockings. Nancy Pelosi and her cadre of confederates once again went on their midnight Christmas ride giving the American people the middle finger as they forced through legislation; this after being thoroughly repudiated last November. I guess there are no consequences to elections when it comes to liberals.

Here are some of the accomplishments of the Democrats and their RINO conspirators during the lame duck session:

Gave more regulatory powers to the FDA

Banned “don’t ask, don’t tell” in effect turning our military into one big San Francisco Gay Pride Parade

Extended the Bush tax cuts for only two years while giving more unemployment benefits to the 99er’s (Let’s call it for what it is: welfare)

Passed through a disadvantageous nuclear treaty

And God only knows what else these sharks did. We are still trying to find out what kind of crap they passed in Obamacare.

The 111th is the most despised congress in American history. They had no regard for the Constitution; and they governed against the will of their constituents. One Democratic strategist is completely delusional:

"Democrats are exultant about the accomplishments of the past two years but depressed by the disconnect we've had with the American voters," said Democratic strategist Steve Murphy. "Everything that has been done in terms of domestic policy was done with the goal of improving the lives of middle-class Americans - and middle-class Americans rose up in revolt of the Democratic Congress."

You bastards improved our lives alright, by burdening us with job killing regulation and insurmountable debt:

(CNSNews.com) - The federal government has accumulated more new debt--$3.22 trillion ($3,220,103,625,307.29)—during the tenure of the 111th Congress than it did during the first 100 Congresses combined, according to official debt figures published by the U.S. Treasury.

That equals $10,429.64 in new debt for each and every one of the 308,745,538 people counted in the United States by the 2010 Census.

The total national debt of $13,858,529,371,601.09 (or $13.859 trillion), as recorded by the U.S. Treasury at the close of business on Dec. 22, now equals $44,886.57 for every man, woman and child in the United States.

In fact, the 111th Congress not only has set the record as the most debt-accumulating Congress in U.S. history, but also has out-stripped its nearest competitor, the 110th, by an astounding $1.262 trillion in new debt.

All I have to say is good riddance 111th Congress. May we never see the likes of you again!
