Extreme Jogger Causes Panic at Post Office

Sometimes, I come across a story and shake my head. You’d think that after 9/11, people would have a clue, but not this guy.

Word to the wise: Maybe it's not the smartest thing to jog in what looks like a gas mask and body armor, and then jam a package in a post office box.

It could touch off what happened Tuesday at the busy San Jose post office on Lundy Avenue: a full-scale police response, complete with the bomb squad and a robot.

But San Jose police said the suspicious-looking jogger seen fidgeting with a package at a drop-off box was only working out in hard-core, albeit odd-looking, exercise gear.

"The guy said he was wearing a cardio mask," said Sgt. Jason Dwyer. "It was his cardio day, and he was trying to lose weight."

That's not what a post office customer thought when the man in the weird mask and vest was stuffing a package in a blue mail box about 12:30 p.m. The customer called police, and in a flash, the post office was on lockdown until 4:30 p.m., with 150 employees and customers tucked away in the back. The San Jose police bomb squad, the Fire Department's hazardous materials unit and the postal inspector descended on a normally quiet strip of North San Jose. A robot detonated the package, which turned out, police said, to be a bunch of calendars.

9/11 Exposed "The Religion of Peace"

While most of the world was shocked and dismayed by the 9/11 attacks, there was a subset of the human race that celebrated the deaths of thousands of Americans. Muslims gathered in the streets laughing and displaying the “v” for victory sign. Little did they know that the Jihadists made a tactical error.

Most of the world knew what a threat Islam is to peace loving peoples; now we know. The charade is over. The mask of the “religion of peace” has been pulled off, and Islam has been stripped naked for all to see.

George W. Bush's Speech at Flight 93 Memorial

Its nice have a leader deliver a speech that is not centered on him; or demonizes his political opponents. President Bush is a class act; unlike the character who now resides in the White House.

Here is the full transcript:

GEORGE W. BUSH, 43RD PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: Mr. Secretary, thank you very much. Mr. Vice President, Dr. Biden, President Clinton, Mr. Speaker, members of Congress, my friends Tommy Franks and Tom Ridge, thank you for helping raise the money for this memorial. Members of the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, all of those who supported this memorial, but most importantly, the families of Flight 93. Laura and I are honored to join you in dedicating this memorial to the heroes of Flight 93.

When the sun rose in the Pennsylvania sky ten years ago tomorrow, it was a peaceful September morning. By the time it set nearly 3,000 people were gone. The most lives lost on American soil in a single day since the battle of Antietam.

With the distance of a decade, 9/11 can feel like a part of a different era. But for the families of the men and women stolen, some of whom join us today, that day will never feel like history. The memory of that morning is fresh and so is the pain. America shares your grief. We pray for your comfort and we honor your loved ones.

September 11th, 2001, innocent men and women went to work at the World Trade Center. They reported for duty at the Pentagon. They boarded American Flights 11 and 77, United 93 and 175. They did nothing to provoke or deserve the deliberate act of murder that al Qaeda carried out.

One of the lessons of 9/11 is that evil is real, and so is courage. When the planes struck the World Trade Center, firefighters and police officers charged up the stairs into the flames. As the towers neared collapse, they continued the rescue efforts.

Ultimately, more than 400 police officers and firefighters gave their lives. Among them was the chief of the New York City Fire Department Peter Gancy. As a colleague put it, he would never ask anyone to do something he didn’t do himself.

The Pentagon service members and civilians pulled friends and strangers from burning rubble. One special forces soldier recalls reaching through a cloud of smoke in search of the wounded. As he entered one room, he prayed to find someone alive. He discovered a severely burned woman and carried her to safety. Later, in the hospital, where she explained she’s been praying for rescue. She called him her guardian angel.

And then there’s the extraordinary story we commemorate here. Aboard United Airlines Flight 93 were college students from California, an iron worker from New Jersey, veterans of the Korean War and World War II, citizens of Germany and Japan, a pilot who had rearranged his schedule so that he could take his wife on a vacation to celebrate their anniversary.

When the passengers and crew realized the plane had been hijacked, they reported the news calmly. When they learned that the terrorists had crashed other planes into targets on the ground, they accepted greater responsibilities. In the back of the cabin, the passengers gathered to devise a strategy.

At the moment America’s democracy was under attack, our citizens defied their captors by holding a vote. The choice they made would cost them their lives, and they knew it. Many passengers called their loved ones to say good-bye, then

Many passengers called their loved ones to say goodbye then hung up to perform their final act. One said, “They’re getting ready to break into the cockpit. I have to go. I love you.” Another said, “It’s up to us. I think we can do it.”

In one of the most stirring accounts, Todd Beamer, a father of two with a pregnant wife with a home in New Jersey, asked the air operator to join him in reciting the Lord’s Prayer. Then he helped lead the charge with the words “Let’s roll.”

With their selfless act, the men and women who stormed the cockpit lived out the words, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” And with their brave decision, they launched the first counter offensive of the war on terror. The most likely target of the hijacked plane was the United States Capitol. We’ll never know how many innocent people might have been lost, but we do know this, Americans are alive today because the passengers and crew of Flight 93 chose to act, and our nation will be forever grateful.

The 40 souls who perished on the plane left a great deal behind. They left spouses and children and grandchildren who miss them dearly. They left successful businesses and promising careers and a lifetime of dreams they will never have the chance to fulfill. They left something else — a legacy of bravery and selflessness that will always inspire America.

For generations people will study the flight, the story of Flight 93. They will learn that individual choices make a difference, that love and sacrifice can triumph over evil and hate, and that what happened above this Pennsylvania field ranks among the most courageous acts in American history.

At the memorial we dedicate today will ensure our nation always remembers those lost here on 9/11. But we have a duty beyond memory. We have a duty beyond honoring. We have a duty to live our lives in a way that upholds the ideals for which the men and women gave their lives, to build a living memorial to their courage and sacrifice. We have a duty to find common purpose as a nation.

In the days after 9/11, the response came like a single hand over a single heart. Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle gathered on the steps of the capitol to sing “God bless America.” neighbors reached out to neighbors of all backgrounds and beliefs.

The past decade, our country has been tested by natural disaster, economic turmoil, anxieties and challenges here at home and abroad. There have been spirited debates along the way. It’s the essence of democracy. But Americans have never been defined by our disagreements. Whatever challenges we face today and in the future, we must never lose faith in our ability to meet them together. We must never allow our differences to harden into divisions.

Secondly, we have a duty to remain engaged in the world as 9/11 proved that the conditions in the country on the other side of the world can have an impact on our own streets. It may be tempting to think it doesn’t matter what happens to a villager in Afghanistan or a child in Africa, but the temptation of isolation is deadly wrong.

World repression, anger and resentment will be a never ending source of violence and threats. A world of dignity and liberty and hope will be safer and better for all. The surest way to move toward that vision is for the United States of America to lead the cause of freedom.

Finally, we each have a duty to serve a cause larger than ourselves. The passengers aboard Flight 93 set an example that inspires us all. Many have followed their path of service by donating blood or mentoring a child or volunteering in desperate corners of the earth. Some have devoted their careers to analyzing intelligence or protecting our borders and securing our skies. Others have made the noble choice to defend our nation in battle.

For 10 years, our troops have risked and given their lives to prevent our enemies from attacking America again. They’ve kept us safe, they have made us proud, and they have upheld the spirit of service shown by the passengers on Flight 93.

Many years ago, in 1863, another president came to dedicate a memorial site in this state. He told his audience that, “In a larger sense we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this ground. For the brave souls who struggled there, it consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract.”

He added “The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.”

So it is with Flight 93. For as long as this memorial stands, we will remember what the men and women aboard the plane did here. We’ll pay tribute to the courage they showed, the sacrifice they made, and the lives they spared. The United States will never forget.

May god bless you all.

Paul Krugman's 9/11 Drive-by Snark

You just knew that when the 9/11 anniversary came about, there would be leftist crackpots who feel the need to bash republican leaders who had the misfortune of being in charge during one of the worst attacks on American soil since Pearl Harbor.

Paul Krugman, a shameless political hack in the guise of an economist, didn’t waste time. Here is his drive-by snarky comment:

The Years of Shame

Is it just me, or are the 9/11 commemorations oddly subdued?

Actually, I don’t think it’s me, and it’s not really that odd.

What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. Te atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.

A lot of other people behaved badly. How many of our professional pundits — people who should have understood very well what was happening — took the easy way out, turning a blind eye to the corruption and lending their support to the hijacking of the atrocity?

The memory of 9/11 has been irrevocably poisoned; it has become an occasion for shame. And in its heart, the nation knows it.

I’m not going to allow comments on this post, for obvious reasons.

You would’ve thought that this Keynesian would embrace the Iraq war as means to spur economic growth. After all, this is the same man who hypothesized an alien invasion would be a boon for the nation’s GDP.

According to Paul Krugman and leftist like him, some wars are more equal than others, as long as the right party is in power.

Will Planned Parenthood Perform Female Circumcisions?

As we approach the tenth anniversary of 9/11, many of our fellow citizens are taking the time to reflect and ponder on how we can improve our relations with the Muslim community. Sunny has proposed a novel idea (see above video). She wishes to show solidarity by wearing the hijab.

But Sunny touched on something that I believe Planned Parenthood could capitalize on. Muslims have a time honored tradition of female circumcision, or as their detractors call it female genital mutilation. By taking this practice out of the back alleys, they could sanitize it and make this practice legit; just like they did with abortion. This is a whole new revenue stream for that organization that professes to love women.

Somebody should contact the Democratic Party. I can hear the taxpayer’s wallets being pried open as we speak.

Obama Administration Scrubs Jihad Stench Off of 9/11 Anniversary

The Obama administration is doing its best to scrub the Jihad off of the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Dr. Juhai Jasser, one of the few Muslims who are an outspoken critic of radical Islam, has criticized the Anointed One for sanitizing the event.

It’s rather perplexing why this administration has issued a directive to federal agencies mandating that they downplay the truth of this terrible event in our history. But, taking a look at Obama’s foreign policy and especially the praise he receives from Muslim countries, it all makes sense:

ROMPIN: Malaysians should support President Barack Obama’s policies on improving ties with Islamic countries, said Malaysian Ambassador to the United States Datuk Seri Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis.

He said it was especially crucial as Obama was facing great challenges to his policies from Congress.

“The previous administration’s policies towards Islamic countries were very worrying to us.

“Ever since Obama took over, he has been implementing changes to build better relations with Islamic nations,” said Dr Jamaluddin.

He added that Obama should be supported so he would continue to treat Muslims fairly.

“It is not easy for him to change the prejudice towards Islam which has become deeply set.

“We have to support him, not criticize him as it cannot be changed in the blink of an eye,” he told reporters after handing out dividend payments to participants of Risda’s commercial replanting scheme at Muadzam Shah here recently.

Jamie Gorelick The Sequel!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water; to turn away from the psychopath laying in a pool of his own blood; to go back to sleep without the fear of maniac with a metal manicure; to trust that your government will protect you from terrorist and self-promoting, multi-millionaire bureaucrats; there always comes a sequel.

Jamie Gorelick, the human tsunami, is rumored to become the next top banana at the F.B.I. That’s right, this is the same woman who is responsible for the wall that prohibited  law enforcement agencies to confer with one another about foreign terrorist that infiltrated our shores; and ultimately led to the 9/11 attacks.

Gorelick has a charmed life. You would have thought that after this heinous attack that killed thousands of our citizens, she would have been brought forth by the 9/11 commission to answer for her deeds; but hell no, she was actually on the commission! Is that not unbelievable? And no one seemed to bat an eye! Wow!!

Now, you would have thought that one man-made disaster like this would be enough for any government bureaucrat; think again. Gorelick was responsible for the subprime mess that practically brought this country to its knees. She was the vice chairman for Fannie Mae. CNS reports the following:

In 2001, Gorelick announced that Fannie was buying subprime loans encouraged by the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and bundling them as securitized financial instruments. Securities made from bundles of guaranteed mortgages were to contribute to the banking crisis later in the decade.

“Fannie Mae will buy CRA loans from lenders' portfolios; we'll package them into securities; we'll purchase CRA mortgages at the point of origination; and we'll create customized CRA-targeted securities,” she said in 2001. “This expanded approach has improved liquidity in the secondary market for CRA product, and has helped our lenders leverage even more CRA lending. Lenders now have the flexibility to use their own, customized loan products.”

In remarks before the American Bankers Association on Oct. 30, 2000, Gorelick explicitly how the procress would work and what Fannie Mae would do to make it feasible for banks to lend to low-income applicants.

“We will take CRA loans off your hands--we will buy them from your portfolios, or package them into securities--so you have fresh cash to make more CRA loans,” she said. “Some people have assumed we don't buy tough loans. Let me correct that misimpression right now. We want your CRA loans because they help us meet our housing goals.”

By 2008, securities containing subprime loans were causing problems for financial institutions that had them on their balance sheets. Ultimately the federal government bailed out banks with the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Fannie and Freddie were taken under direct conservatorship by the federal government when Congress passed the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. In exchange for injecting $100 billion of liquidity into each government-sponsored enterprise, the government took an ownership stake of 79 percent in each, leaving the taxpayer with an unknown liability dependent upon future performance.

Gorelick left Fannie Mae in 2003

Do you hear that? I believe that is the song of an impending disaster! Jamie Gorelick The Sequel! Coming to a neighborhood near you.

Rep. Keith Ellison Earns Razzie Award at Terrorism Hearing

Rep. Keith Ellison's accusations that an American of Muslim faith and a first responder who died in the 9/11 attacks had his character disparaged is completely manufactured; just like his tears.

The congressman might consider taking some acting lessons. He can expect the Razzie Award for worst performance by a politican.
