North Carolina liberals and their establishment
republican purse pooches are scheming for an “independent” committee that would
have the authority to redraw congressional districts. Article One, Section Four states the
following:
The times,
places, and manner of holding elections, for senators and representatives,
shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof; but Congress may
at any time by law make or alter such regulations, except as to the places of
choosing senators.
There has been a trend, since the Progressive Era,
for legislators to abrogate their responsibilities to unelected and
unaccountable bureaucrats. We have seen
the consequences at the federal level.
Do we really want to bring that kind of governance to North Carolina?
Arizona implemented this same system and now they’re
regretting it. Their General Assembly,
in an attempt to reinstate its constitutional prerogatives, went to the Supreme
Court and lost! The liberal bloc spit on
the U.S. Constitution and now Arizonans are subjected to the whims of
bureaucrats.
Advocates for this new system of districting have to
know what happened in Arizona. That makes
them even more despicable.
