Senator Kay Hagan Opts out of Debate

I thought three debates were scheduled between Senator Kay Hagan and Thom Tillis. Looks like I’m wrong.  Senator Kay Hagan has opted out.  The News and Observer reported the following:

The event was planned for Oct. 21, to be broadcast on Time Warner Cable, sponsored by the TV station’s newsroom and The News & Observer and Charlotte Observer. TWC reported Monday night that Hagan says she will decline.
The Hagan campaign says it notified Time Warner in July that she would not participate.

I don’t know why are illustrious senator has decided to cancel.  She couldn’t have more pliable sponsors.  The Observers that infest this state are Democratic Party operatives.  They’re Hagan’s cheerleaders.  I guess she was shaken up after her last performance.  Of course, the spinners know how deflect setbacks.

The Hagan campaign says it notified Time Warner in July that she would not participate.
"It's a disingenuous attack from Speaker Tillis who felt two debates was more than enough in the primary,” Hagan spokeswoman Sadie Weiner said Tuesday in an emailed response. “... The first debate has already taken place and we look forward to the next debate opportunity for the two candidates to compare their records for voters."

She canceled in July?  That’s about as believable as ‘if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.’

Tillis Burst Senator Kay Hagan's Moderate Record Myth

As sure as the sun don’t shine, Mother Nature decided to schleprock my area just in time for the senatorial debate between Kay Hagan and Thom Tillis.  Throughout the day, I kept reminding myself the first of three debates was tonight.  And of course, wowsie wowsie woo woo.

It wasn’t until twenty minutes into the debate, my satellite receiver sputtered to life.  And guess who was hosting?  Norah O’Donnell, a libtard in journalist clothing.  And guess what the subject was?  That’s right, birth control.  The mean republican was being accused of denying women access to health care.  What a load of crap.

This should be an insult to women.  You can walk to your local pharmacy and buy contraceptives over the counter.  It’s so easy a man can do it.  And it’s cheap!  Why republicans don’t drive this home is beyond me, even though Tillis danced around this point at the end.

Senator Kay Hagan then went on to advocate a minimum wage hike.  Again, Tillis missed another opportunity to smack this issue down once and for all.  I ask, what happens to skilled workers who’ve put their time, energy, and money into learning a trade?  Will they get a pay raise commiserate with the minimum wage?  Of course not!  A raise in the minimum wage is a pay cut for skilled workers.  It’s a slap in the face to the middle class.  Why can’t anyone articulate this?

Overall, from what I was able to watch, Thom Tillis put Kay Hagan on the defensive.  He burst the myth of her moderate voting record, while exposing her for the Potomac creature she turned out to be.  Truth be told, we need to repeal the 17th Amendment.  We need people representing North Carolina and not Washington D.C.

Newt Gingrich Proposes a Non-Citizen Underclass

Last night, Newt Gingrich made a proposition that would give legitimacy to millions of illegal aliens without conferring citizenship. This scheme would perpetuate an underclass who would reap the same benefits and privileges that all Americans have, except suffrage rights; basically, keeping the status quo. Of course, this would never hold up in a court of law.

Newt pulls on the heartstrings. He believes that illegal aliens, who have paid taxes, and raised families for the past 25 years, should be given de facto amnesty as long as they haven’t broken any laws. But, they have broken laws. The only way they could have paid federal taxes is by stealing an American’s social security number. And let’s not forget the violation of our nation’s immigration laws.

Newt is trying to be clever. And it will cost him at the polls.

Mulvaney Spanks Spratt in SC05 Congressional Debate

Here is the one and only SC05 congressional debate between Mulvaney and Spratt.  The Spratt camp would not allow the debate to be televised or videotaped.  One intrepid attendee defied the powers-that-be and recorded the event without their knowledge.

Part 3 is where Mulvaney really wipes the floor with Spratt and part 4 is where Spratt resorted to character assassination.  It was his only defence.

Part 1/4

Part 2/4
