I despise the Obama's, but there is no excuse to desecrate a monument to her family. And that goes for any monument.

No Snowflakes for Seattle's Lenin Statue
I don’t consider a statue of Lenin as a work of art, but that’s the excuse a veteran and teacher from Seattle declared for saving a Eastern European relic from the scrap yard and prominently displaying it on private property.
Now, as is with other monuments that others find offensive, a movement is underway to remove this “eyesore.” Here is a statement from the mayor of Seattle:
“In the last few days, Seattleites have expressed concerns and frustration over symbols of hate, racism and violence that exist in our city. Not only do these kinds of symbols represent historic injustices, their existence causes pain among those who themselves or whose family members have been impacted by these atrocities. We should remove all these symbols, no matter what political affiliation may have been assigned to them in the decades since they were erected. This includes both Confederate memorials and statues idolizing the founder of the authoritarian Soviet regime. Both are on private property, but I believe the Confederate memorial at Lake View Cemetery and the Lenin statue in Fremont should be removed. We should never forget our history, but we also should not idolize figures who have committed violent atrocities and sought to divide us based on who we are or where we came from.”
No one in their right mind would idolize Lenin and his murderous ideology. If anything that statue should remain as a reminder of how incongruous and antithetical Marxism is to the American creed. Not all of us are snowflakes in need of a safespace.

Special Snowflake Hysteria Over Historical Monuments and Memorabilia
Confederate hysteria has taken over the
country. Men along with women are having
fainting spells over historic memorabilia and statues. A special snowflake in Wallingford,
Connecticut almost lost control over his bowels at a flea market because he
espied something so horrid he had to call everyone he could think of in order
to have it removed.
The town resident who called 911 said
there were helmets with swastikas, images of Hitler and other historical Nazi
items.
“I was shaking
and almost vomiting,” he tells the paper. “I had to run. My grandmother had
numbers,” referring to the digits the Nazis would tattoo on prisoners.
The caller
complained that the Confederate items were “not authentic” and were replicas of
flags and weapons.
He says the
seller told him “he was selling so much he can’t keep it in stock.”
Jason Teal,
president of the Meriden-Wallingford NAACP, was contacted to see what he
thought.
“It’s difficult
because it’s on private property and it’s considered free speech,” Teal says.
According to the
paper, the complainant also called Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr., who promptly
called Chief Wright
This
is a man? I would be ashamed of myself
for acting in such an unmanly manner. It
makes you wonder how old this guy is.
Stupidity
doesn’t end with Mr. Depends. The
Charlotte Observer published the following comment in Sunday’s, The Observer
Forum:
I
went to Tuesday night’s Mecklenburg County Board meeting and reason broke out!
Commissioners
George Dunlap and Jim Puckett stood out.
Dunlap for his somewhat surprising position that the Confederate
monument should stay right where it is because as he said, it’s history.
Puckett
parsed the monument’s language to make a reasonable person at least consider an
intent other than hate on the part of its author.
Pity
the poor manager now left to suggest a solution.
Here’s
mine, actually my wife’s: Move this monument and the one on City Hall grounds
to the Levine Museum of the New South for the teaching moments they would
provide.

So
these boneheads want to move a monument to a museum? I have a better idea. Why don’t we move all the special snowflakes
north of the Mason-Dixon line?
