Jacobin Snowflakes Destroy Silent Sam Statue

Silent Sam, a Confederate monument at UNC-Chapel Hill, was erected over a hundred years ago to commemorate students who lost their lives during the War of Northern Aggression. For many alumni, this statue was seen as a protector of this institution of high learning, but today’s doctrinaires see this inanimate object as an oppressor. Silent Sam withstood many a storm over the century, but it couldn’t survive the wails of snowflakes.

As a student of history, I cannot help but think of radicals who’ve destroyed institutions, lives and complete civilizations. They usually start with statues, then they desecrate cemeteries and churches and finally the slaughter of human beings.

These snowflakes remind me of the Jacobins of the French Revolution; nothing was sacred to these people. Here is an excerpt from Citizens by Simon Schama:

But the most unruly demonstrations of dechristianizing zeal probably happened more or less spontaneously. When a regiment of the army, two thousand strong, arrived at Aurexxe en route to Lyon, for example, the cannoneers smashed in the church doors and mutilated images and statues of saints. A crucifix was taken from the chapel of Mary and paraded about upside down for citizens to spit on. When a local quarryman refused to do this, one of the soldiers cut off a part of his nose with his saber.

And of course, some of these revolutionaires were people who held prominent positions in the community.

More orderly forms of dechristianization were provided by such representanats-en-mission as the ex-Oratorian priest Fouche, who undertook a particularly enthusiastic campaign in the Nievre, where he stripped cemeteries of all religious symbols and posted on the gates his famous dictum “Death is but an eternal sleep.”

Governor Roy Cooper is as despicable as the ex-priest Fouche; this man is a demagogue who has just a much contempt for our history as the snowflakes who destroyed Silent Sam. These modern day Jacobins should be prosecuted, but justice will not be served when a fellow traveler resides in the governor’s mansion.

The Governor understands that many people are frustrated by the pace of change and he shares their frustration, but violent destruction of public property has no place in our communities. 2/2

No Snowflakes for Seattle's Lenin Statue

I don’t consider a statue of Lenin as a work of art, but that’s the excuse a veteran and teacher from Seattle declared for saving a Eastern European relic from the scrap yard and prominently displaying it on private property.

Now, as is with other monuments that others find offensive, a movement is underway to remove this “eyesore.”   Here is a statement from the mayor of Seattle:

“In the last few days, Seattleites have expressed concerns and frustration over symbols of hate, racism and violence that exist in our city. Not only do these kinds of symbols represent historic injustices, their existence causes pain among those who themselves or whose family members have been impacted by these atrocities. We should remove all these symbols, no matter what political affiliation may have been assigned to them in the decades since they were erected. This includes both Confederate memorials and statues idolizing the founder of the authoritarian Soviet regime. Both are on private property, but I believe the Confederate memorial at Lake View Cemetery and the Lenin statue in Fremont should be removed. We should never forget our history, but we also should not idolize figures who have committed violent atrocities and sought to divide us based on who we are or where we came from.”

No one in their right mind would idolize Lenin and his murderous ideology.  If anything that statue should remain as a reminder of how incongruous and antithetical Marxism is to the American creed.  Not all of us are snowflakes in need of a safespace.

No Commemorative Monuments for Snowflake Jacobins

It’s official.  I have reached the milestone of being an old fogey.  Exactly when did this happen?  Well, it started during the Obama’s administration’s cultural revolution of social upheaval and complete rejection of long held beliefs in family, tradition and morality.  This rejection has snowballed into an avalanche of Jacobinism that is destroying our history and the very fabric that makes us Americans.

This year I visited three of our military national parks: Shiloh, Chickamauga and Chattanooga.  I can not help but contrast the character of the people who visited these battlefields to the snowflakes who are tearing down Confederate monuments.  The former showed respect for those who fought and died in the great struggle whether that be union or independence, while the latter are a bunch of nihilists that respect nothing, not even themselves.

These monuments are remembrances.  They were erected so that future generations will not forget their history and maybe learn from it.  But most, such as the monument in Durham, are memorials to that communities dead whose unmourned remains are strewn across a distant battlefield.

As I was touring these battlefields, I couldn’t help but wonder as to what Southerners of that generation, who experienced the destruction of their family and homes by a Yankee invasion, thought about all these monuments commemorating a Northern victory.  Surly, they had to have some resentment, if not, outright hatred for these conquerors.  Why didn’t they destroy these monuments?  Here is an excerpt from an article in the Civil War Trust describing the dedication of our first national military park at Chickamauga:

In September 1889, veterans of the Army of the Cumberland and the Army of Tennessee gathered in Crawfish Springs, Georgia, to hold a grand barbeque in commemoration of the 26th anniversary of the Battle of Chickamauga. With thousands in attendance, the governor of Georgia welcomed the former soldiers of both armies as guests and declared the event to be a celebration of both sides’ deeds and their renewed and eternal bonds of brotherhood. Former Union general William Rosecrans, addressing the crowd, said, “The occasion is one for which you will look through history in vain to find a second. Today ... survivors of [the battle], both Blue and Gray ... are assembled together to consider how they shall make it a national memorial ground.... It took great men to win that battle, but it takes greater men still ... to wipe away all the ill feeling which naturally grows out of such a contest.”

How can this snowflake generation have any ill feelings over something they never experienced, or have no understanding?  We can thank all these Marxists professors who have indoctrinated our youth into hating their country and its history.  But I can assure these Jacobins one thing: no monument will be erected to commemorate their destructive achievements.

Vandal Under Consideration for N.C. University Scholarship

If you have any doubts that we have a problem with teachers in higher education, you don’t have to look any further than North Carolina.  The student who vandalized a statue is under consideration for a scholarship at North Carolina Central University.  Here is an excerpt from the Daily Caller:

The Chronicle of Higher Education reported on Wednesday that proposals are being made at the college to award Takiyah Thompson, who has been charged with two felonies—participation in a riot and inciting others to riot—for her actions.

News that Thompson was involved in the demonstration was reportedly met with widespread support from campus faculty and students in her Introduction to Political Science class.

“I saw the demonstration and the toppling of the monument. I think it’s a healthy thing for students to have a voice and to be leaders in activism,” said Jim C. Harper II, chair of the history department. “We’re going to do everything we can to support Ms. Thompson.”

This punk did more than voice her activism.  She destroyed property that didn’t belong to her.  It’s hard to believe a grown adult, a history professor at that, would condone the destruction of a monument.  An educator has a responsibility to groom young people into becoming responsible citizens.  James C Harper II has failed in this respect.

I believe its time state legislatures review the type of people we have in our university systems.  It’s quite obvious we are lacking decent and honorable educators and this latest outrage is just the tip of the iceberg.

Fascists Vandalize Joan of Arc Statue in New Orleans

Confederate monuments aren’t the only ones under attack by leftist goons who have no appreciation for history and the community at large.  An Abraham Lincoln statue was defaced and set on fire in Illinois.  Apparently, the Great Emancipator has no cred in this day and age.  Even statues with no linkage to slavery are under assault by historically illiterate fascist.  Here is an excerpt from PJ Media:

The "Tear it Down" tag would seem to relate to the debate surrounding the city's ongoing removal of four Confederate monuments. But the statue of Joan of Arc, a 15th-century military leader, martyr and Catholic saint, hasn't been mentioned in the controversy to this point.

Amy Kirk Duvoisin, the founder of the annual Joan of Arc parade that ceremonially pauses at the statue on the first day of Carnival season, says she's confused by the vandalism.

"Surely, people realize she's not related to American history," she said referring to the French icon.

If she’s white, she’s a blight.  That is the mentality we’re dealing with.

Baltimore Snowflakes Triggered by Confederate Monuments

I’ll never forget my Baltimore, Maryland experience.  Smarty Jones was running in the 2004 Preakness and I thought for sure he would be a triple crown winner, and I wanted to witness history.  So I went to the race and proceeded to spend a long weekend visiting the sites and boy did I see some sights.

Now mind you, at the time, HBO had a hit series called The Wire,  The story was about Baltimore’s grinding poverty and the degradations associated with it such as drug and alcohol abuse.  This show emphasized the heroin trade and the dilapidated state of a once great city.

I can say without hesitation there were aspects of that show that were spot on.  I remember pulling up to an intersection and seeing building after building boarded up as far as the eye could see and this went on block after block after block.  It was surreal.  I thought I was in a third world hellhole.  The only thing I could think of was National Lampoon’s Vacation when Chevy Chase told his family to roll up the windows and check out the plight.  Holy cow!

You would think Baltimore would try and rehabilitate a large section of its city by tearing down these dilapidated buildings, but you would be mistaken.  They are more concerned with tearing down Confederate statues.

The city of Baltimore took down a number of Confederate statues in the early hours of Wednesday.
A seven-member commission — chosen by the city’s mayor — proposed to remove both the Roger B. Taney monument and a dual monument to Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson earlier this year, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Some of those monuments had been vandalized over the weekend in the wake of the racist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Images posted on Twitter early Wednesday showed the Taney monument, in addition to a Daughters of the Confederacy monument, being carted away on trucks after they were removed from their pedestals

Oh yeah, whatever you do, don’t tear down that eye sore in little Mogadishu; let’s tear down Confederate monuments because the natives are triggered.  Who cares if your citizens live in squalor as long as their feelings aren’t hurt.

Durham Confederate Protesters are North Korean Sympathizers

It’s getting comical.  The information coming out about these protesters in Durham, North Carolina is reaching the arena of the fantastically absurd.  These so-called anti-fascist are North Korean sympathizers.  Here is an excerpt from the Daily Caller:

Taqiyah Thompson, a student at North Carolina Central University, was arrestedTuesday following a press conference in which she defended the actions of the demonstrators and equated police officers to Confederate soldiers and Ku Klux Klan members.

“I did the right thing,” she said. “Everyone who was there — the people did the right thing. The people will continue to keep making the right choices until every Confederate statue is gone, until white supremacy is gone. That statue is where it belongs. It needs to be in the garbage.”

Thompson is a member of the Worker’s World Party (WWP), a revolutionary Marxist-Leninist group originally formed in 1959 as a hard-line offshoot of the more moderate Socialist Workers Party. In addition to supporting a wide range of far-left causes, the group also defends the North Korean regime of dictator Kim Jong-un against alleged U.S. imperialism.

This is too good to be true.  The Worker’s World Party defends an oppressive regime that enslaves and starves its people while destroying monuments that purportedly glorifies the institution of slavery?  Unbelieveable!

Gov. Roy "Taliban" Cooper to Destroy Confederate Monuments

I remember when the Taliban destroyed a Buddhist monument in Afghanistan over a decade ago.  I was completely disgusted that anyone could have such a blatant disregard for antiquities and their country’s history.  I had the same guttural reaction last Monday when a band of socialist punks destroyed a Confederate statue in Durham, NC.  As far as I’m concerned, these people are of the same mentality.

Governor Roy Cooper is a fellow traveler.  He too would destroy our monuments and he does it by distorting our history.  Here is an excerpt from one of his missives:

Some people cling to the belief that the Civil War was fought over states’ rights. But history is not on their side. We cannot continue to glorify a war against the United States of America fought in the defense of slavery. These monuments should come down.
Our Civil War history is important, but it belongs in textbooks and museums — not a place of allegiance on our Capitol grounds. And our history must tell the full story, including the subjugation of humans created in God’s image to provide the back-breaking labor that drove the South’s agrarian economy

First of all, the vast majority of these monuments are commemorations to those who had fallen in that godforsaken war.  They were erected by a community who were mourning their dead.  They are not testaments to slavery.  Only an idiot would think otherwise.

Governor Cooper has demonstrated on multiple occasion his complete lack of historical knowledge.  Had he did a modicum of research, he would have known that about 78% of North Carolina’s population didn’t own slaves.  The majority were subsistence farmers.  They were breaking their own backs in the South’s agrarian economy.  The reason they fought was because of a Northern invasion, not to maintain the institution of slavery.  Hell, even the North denied they were fighting to abolish slavery.

Here is another gem from our illustrious governor:

"My first responsibility as governor is to protect North Carolinians and keep them safe," Cooper said in an online post. "The likelihood of protesters being injured or worse as they may try to topple any one of the hundreds of monuments in our state concerns me. And the potential for those same white supremacist elements we saw in Charlottesville to swarm the site, weapons in hand, in retaliation is a threat to public safety."

May I remind the governor that he has a responsibility to protect public property and prosecute those who destroy it. We shouldn’t have to depend on fringe groups to protect our monuments.  I cannot believe we have this duffus as the head magistrate of our great state.

Socialist Revolutionaries Arrested in Durham, NC

North Carolina’s history was under assault last Monday when a group of snowflakes left their safe spaces and demolished a statue of a Confederate soldier in Durham.  These self-styled oppressed people rolled up to the monument in a Cadillac limousine with a ladder strapped to the the top of it.  Nothing says oppressed like a Cadillac limousine.

Dante Emmanuel Strobino, 35, and Ngoc Loan Tran, 24, both of Durham, were arrested at the Durham County Courthouse, where a woman who climbed the statue was making her first appearance after she was arrested Tuesday. Peter Hull Gilbert, 39, also of Durham, was arrested Wednesday afternoon.1
All three are charged with disorderly conduct by injury to a statue and damage to real property, which are both misdemeanors, and participation in a riot with property damage in excess of $1,500 and inciting others to riot where property damage exceeds $1,500, which are both felonies

A couple of these punks are members of the World Workers Party, which I assume is an offshoot of the defunct IWW.  Here is a quote from a wannabe revolutionary:

"There's revolutions taking place all across the country right now, and those revolutions won't be stopped," Thompson said after her court hearing.1
"We are following a historical legacy of standing up to the powers that be, to these racist, fascist systems, and we're on the right side of history," Tran said. "We're not going to let the police or this jail intimidate us.

These kids are profoundly stupid.  They are the ones who are acting like fascists and racists.  Maybe these punks should look into the fate of the Wobblies.  However, that would require opening a history book.
