Legalized Racketeering: The Nefarious Relationship of the Democratic Party and Public Employee Unions

Union Bosses are living life large. Is it any wonder they are mobilizing their members against the taxpayers. That cash cow is sacred. Here are the salaries of those ordinary workers, as reported by the Politico:

Gerald McEntee, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, was paid $479,328 in salary and benefits in 2009. He was one of 10 employees of the 1.5 million-member union who made more than $200,000 that year.

At the 3.2 million-member National Education Association, President Dennis Van Roekel made $397,721 in salary and benefits in 2009. Thirty other officers and employees of the nation’s largest teachers’ union made more than $200,000 that year. Public school teachers, by comparison, were paid a national average of $54,319 in 2009.

The American Federation of Teachers, a smaller teachers’ union, paid President Randi Weingarten $428,384 in salary and benefits. Eight others at the 887,000-member union, which also represents college faculty and school support staff, earned more than $200,000 in 2009.

And you would think that the taxpayers would be given a parade by these goons.

Is anyone wondering how the Wisconsin Fleebaggers are paying for their room and board? Why it’s campaign contributions of course. You would have thought that to be against the law, but it’s not:

"The Government Accountability Board staff has been asked whether campaign funds may properly be used by the 14 Democrat senators currently absenting themselves from the state to pay for hotels and other expenses incurred as a result of the decision to leave," wrote Board general counsel Kevin Kennedy in a February 22 letter to state senators. "In the opinion of the Board's staff, campaign funds may be used for this purpose."

The spotlight is shining on this nefarious quid pro quo. The incestuous relationship between the Democratic Party and public employee unions is nothing more than legalized racketeering. If there was ever an argument to ban public sector unions, this is it.

I have worked in the private sector all my life earning half the total income of public sector workers doing the same work. In addition, an unjust law suit was awarded taking my retirement savings. This government is a racket for public employees to steel from people like me and has lost its legitimacy in the process. Not only should this injustice be stopped, reparations should be made.
