Rep. Anthony Weiner Seeks Obamacare Waiver for NYC
It is the one year anniversary of Obamacare, and Rep. Anthony Weiner is already looking for a way to exempt his constituents from this monstrosity. The Weener has discovered that Obamacare has put an onerous responsibility on the Big Apple, and now he wants a waiver. That’s right one of the most outspoken proponents for Obamacare is looking for a waiver for New York City. You see, the state of New York passes its Medicare and Medicaid expenses onto the local governments; and the Weener is reportedly running for mayor.
You ask yourself, how does this fuzzy headed, grouper mouth reconcile his righteous advocacy for national healthcare with that of local knows better government? Here’s how:
“The president said, ‘If you have better ideas that can accomplish the same thing, go for it,’” said Weiner. “I’m in the process now of trying to see if we can take [President Barack Obama] up on it in the city of New York, … and I’m taking a look at all of the money we spend in Medicaid and Medicare and maybe New York City can come up with a better plan.”
The congressman was trying to debunk Republican “myths” about the health care law during a speech at the Center for American Progress. He used the waivers as way to describe how flexible the law actually is and how “this notion that the government is shoving the bill down people’s throats” is not true.
“The administration needs to make this argument more forcefully,” he said. “A lot of people who got waivers were … people who are our friends.”
Yes, it pays to be friends of Democrats. Obamacare reminds me of George Orwell’s Animal Farm:
"ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL, BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS"
