Charlotte, North Carolina Awarded 2012 Democratic Convention

Charlotte, North Carolina has been selected to host the 2012 National Democratic Convention. Mayor Anthony Foxx has dubbed the event the People’s Convention. I couldn’t agree more. When I think of Democrats, I think of red flags. I wonder if they will fly one in honor of the occasion.

Community leaders are itching to show off this “world class” cosmopolitan. Anyone who has lived within a couple of hundred miles of the Queen City would recognize the neurotic preoccupation the “uptown” crowd has with this status:

Charlotte leaders hailed the selection.

"We're honored that the Democratic National Committee chose Charlotte," Mayor Anthony Foxx said in a statement. "We have an unmatched opportunity to show the world what a beautiful, energetic, innovative and diverse city we are building in Charlotte."

Gov. Bev Perdue called the decision "fantastic news for North Carolina regardless of your political party. A national political convention is a keystone event that will boost North Carolina's economy, while showcasing Charlotte and our state to the nation and the world."

The convention is expected to bring more than 35,000 delegates, media and other visitors to the city and generate more than $150 million in economic benefits. It also will bring international attention to a city that has long aspired to be "world-class.

Foxx had called the convention "a game-changer, bringing new jobs, new spending and new businesses to our city, region and state."

The local NAACP recently called Charlotte another Ku Klux Klan backwater. And that the Queen's robes are really bed sheets:

The president of the Charlotte NAACP, Rev. Kojo Nantambu, led a rally at the Government Center in uptown where he called the city racist.

Nantambu said, "We're going to start having marches with national figures cause we want to put the national spotlight on Charlotte to show just how racist Charlotte is."

I wonder if the Rev. Kojo Nantambu will join his fellow jackasses in the convention center, or march with all of the other leftist nut jobs that will invade this city. Either way, we can expect a “world class” leftist fiasco.
