Visitors Break Spending Records in Charlotte's HB2 HellHole

Does anyone remember the left-wing hysteria about North Carolina’s HB2 law that prohibited mentally ill men from using women’s bathrooms?  We were told the financial consequences would be enormous.  We even had crony capitalist like PayPal refuse to locate their headquarters in the Queen City because their sensibilities were profoundly triggered.  No amount of taxpayer money could entice these teat squawkers to open their offices up in state that wouldn’t allow a transvestite to squat in a stall next to a five year old girl.  Why, that’s outrageously discriminatory.  Who in the hell do North Carolinians think they are!

Well with all the panting outrage and condemnation from libtards near and far, Charlotte actually experienced a record amount of visitor revenue in 2016.  Who would’ve thunk it!  And it was reported in the Charlotte Observer!

Visitor spending hit record highs in the Charlotte region last year, despite headwinds from House Bill 2, North Carolina’s controversial LGBT bill that prompted scores of businesses, performing artists and sports groups to cancel events in the state.

Visitors across the Charlotte region spent more than $6.7 billion last year, according to an annual study conducted by the U.S. Travel Association and commissioned by Visit North Carolina, the state’s tourism arm. Statewide, domestic visitors spent a record $22.9 billion in 2016.

The Charlotte region hosted about 27.8 million visitors in 2016, roughly 1 million more than in 2015, according to the study.

Of course, these yahoos have their caveats.  It must be awful hard to eat crow on that cracker.

North Carolina Prospers in Spite of Liberal Hysteria

Libtards in the state of North Carolina must have lockjaw from eating all that crow.  How many times were we told HB2 would be our death knell?  How many apocalyptic editorials, cartoons and fake news articles were published in local papers condemning republicans in our General Assembly for daring to be fiscally responsible?  Too damn many!

So as you can imagine, I was completely surprised to read two articles in the Charlotte Observer about our amazing economic prosperity.  Both were buried, however, we must give credit when it is due.  Here is an excerpt from one:

Legislative budget writers will have more funding to work with after North Carolina’s projected revenue surplus grew slightly to $580.5 million, according to projections released Friday.
The numbers show that tax collections and other revenues are about 2.5 percent higher than what state leaders budgeted last summer. The latest surplus estimate is an increase from a $552.5 million surplus projected in February.
Senate Republican leaders say they plan to unveil their budget proposal on Monday or Tuesday and vote on it by the end of the week. The House will then develop and pass its own separate spending plan, and then leaders from the two chambers will work out a compromise budget and send it to Gov. Roy Cooper.

Blue states can only dream of a surplus.  Senator Phil Berger attributed this good news to tax cuts and sound economic reforms.  The accolades don’t stop there, North Carolina has a No. 1 Prosperity Cup Ranking.
Acknowledging that it will “come as a shock to some” given the furor that enveloped the state after the controversial House Bill 2 became law last year, Site Selection magazine has ranked North Carolina tops in economic development.

North Carolina’s No. 1 rating for 2017 – a ranking that is based on 2016 data – didn’t come out of the blue. Last year the state tied with Texas for the No. 1 spot in the magazine’s Prosperity Cup ranking, which it previously called Top Competitive States.

But in the latest rankings North Carolina has no peer. Texas fell to No. 4, behind Tennessee and Georgia.

Will we see editorials praising republicans for sound economic policies that has made our state the envy of the country?  I doubt it.

Liberal Dystopia is the New Utopian Society

I’m convinced liberals live in an alternative universe.  Take a look at the above cartoon.  This stupidity was published in the Charlotte Observer.  The moron who drew this crap believes North Carolina is a vast wasteland because Republicans refused to expand the welfare state and passed HB2.
I have a question.  How is it that men and women were capable of using separate bathrooms for hundreds, if not thousands of years, without bringing about the apocalypse?  All of a sudden we’re living in a dystopian society because a cross dresser with a penis is forced to use the boys’ bathroom.  This used to be common sense.  Not anymore.
I remember a time when people were encouraged to get off of welfare and become productive citizens.   We used to believe a working man contributed to society and propelled a healthy economy.  Now we’re told extended unemployment benefits, welfare and Medicaid expansion is the utopia we’ve all been waiting for.  This whole working thing is for suckers.
I’ve got news for the libtards at the Charlotte Observer.  That cartoon better represents the disaster Republicans inherited from a Democratic Party rule that lasted well over a hundred years.  We were heavily in debt to the federal government.  Our state’s finances were a basket case.  We were the highest taxed in the Southeast with hostile regulations that discouraged business investments.
Forbes published an article outlining 5 top reasons North Carolinians should have reelected Governor Pat McCrory.  All had to do with our state’s finances.  And what were our local rags concerned about?  Mentally ill transvestites who want to use the little girls’ bathroom.  Whose dystopia are we living in now?

HB2 Nothing More Than Liberal Political Stink

Ease up on the hyperventilating, libtards.  The HB2 crisis hasn’t had a devastating effect on North Carolina’s economy as all the popper sniffers would have us believe.   Andrew Heath, state budget director, has sprayed some Lysol on this whole bathroom nonsense.  The big stink all these liberals are spewing is from their mouth and not actual data.  Here is an excerpt from his op-ed:

Regardless of one’s position on HB2, one must conclude based on the facts that any purported fallout from HB2, which is mostly speculative and unquantifiable, pales in comparison to the actual economic impact of the pro-growth policies that have led to the creation of 300,000 net new jobs since 2013. These policies have continued to benefit the state.

Here are some relevant facts since HB2 took effect:

▪ Nearly 5,000 new jobs have been announced since March.

▪ Moody’s reported that North Carolina’s 2016 year-to-date revenue growth has outpaced the 20 largest states’ average by more than 2-to-1.

▪ North Carolina’s unemployment rate returned to pre-recession levels at 4.9 percent and is down in all 100 counties since 2013.

▪ S&P, Moody’s and Fitch affirmed North Carolina’s AAA credit rating, citing the state’s continued diverse economic expansion.

▪ CNBC moved North Carolina from #9 to #5 in the ranking of best states for business.

▪ North Carolina ended the fiscal year with a $425 million revenue surplus.

The entertainers and businesses who have chosen to cancel shows, games or jobs as a form of political speech are free to do so, but those few actions will not affect the state’s overall economic position. The vast majority of entertainers, athletes and businesses are not falling for the false narrative.

Somehow I don’t believe these self-important pricks really give a damn about how ineffective their protestations are.
