How is President Donald Trump going to pay for
the Mexican wall of shame? Washington
D.C. bureaucrats aren’t going to like the answer.
Making good on a promise
to slash government, President-elect Trump has asked his incoming team to
pursue spending and staffing cuts.
Insiders
said that the spending reductions in some departments could go as high as 10
percent and staff cuts to 20 percent, numbers that would rock Washington if he
follows through.
At
least two so-called "landing teams" in Cabinet agencies have relayed
the call for cuts as part of their marching orders to shrink the flab in
government.
We can already hear the howling, wailing and hair
pulling coming out the Democratic Party and their lapdogs in the media. This is going to be an interesting four
years.
Jorge Castaneda, a former foreign secretary of
Mexico, admitted that President Donald Trump could force these invaders to
build a wall. Here is an excerpt from
the Weekly Standard.
"If [Trump] really wants Mexico to pay
for the wall, he has many ways of getting many Mexicans to pay for the
wall," Castañeda said in an auditorium sitting directly across the street
from Trump's newly opened Pennsylvania Avenue hotel.
He
could "increase the fee for visas, which is a decision made by the State
Department, not by Congress," Castañeda continued. He could "increase
the toll on the bridges [between the two countries] . . . again, not done by
Congress."
Castañeda
also suggested that Trump could tax remittances from the U.S. to Mexico:
"There are ways of doing it," he said, "transaction fees,
commissions, special fees etc." He labeled a recent resolution in the
Mexican Senate to bar the use of Mexican federal funds for construction of the
wall as "silly." (Somebody tellCastañeda's
old boss!
These Mexican nationals send a lot of money back to their country. That is where you hit
them and you hit them hard.
The world has turned upside down. Donald Trump was forced to jump a fence
because illegal aliens waving Mexican flags barricaded the main entrance to a
republican convention in Burlingame, California. Some of these protesters believe the Golden
State is still part of Mexico.
Give these illegals another decade and they will
turn that beautiful state into a third-world hellhole just like the one from
which they escaped.
Make no doubt about it; Mexico is a willful
participant in this Latin American invasion of our country. Opportunist and enemies
of the United States, foreign and
domestic, have seized upon Obama’s open borders program. We have a commander-in-chief aiding and
abetting third-worlders in an attempt to influence the electorate. That’s right.
I’m saying it. We have a traitor in
the Oval Office.
Governor Rick Perry, and a handful of patriots, are
trying to protect the sovereignty of this nation. He has deployed the National Guard to protect
our border. This doesn’t sit well with
our belligerent, southern neighbor.
Mexico "reiterates, in a firm and categorical way, its
rejection of this measure," read a statement from the foreign ministry.
"No circumstance at all or change in
border security exists that justifies this measure taken by the state."
The
troop deployment "does not contribute in any way to solving the
immigration problem," and is inconsistent with US-Mexico talks aimed at
"building a modern, prosperous and safe border," the statement read.
There was a time when Mexico’s aggression would be considered an
act of war. There was a time when States
would act without permission from Washington D.C. There was a time when D.C. was put on notice,
or else. That time came in 1839 in
Maine. Here is an excerpt from:America's First Great Depression
This change happened in 1839, when Maine sent a party to clear the
disputed land of British trespassers.
New Brunswick’s colonial government arrested the Maine party and
threatened that it would use force to hold the territory. Maine’s legislature responded in February
1839 by sending ten thousand state militiamen northward. Maine’s governor warned Van Buren about
suppressing a conflict with the British.
“Should you go against us upon this occasion – or not espouse our cause
with warmth and earnestness and with a true American feeling, God only knows
what the result will be politically.” In
Washington, Congress stoked the fires by authorizing the president to call out
fifty thousand troops if needed to repel the British.
And what was the end result?
Once again, Van Buren sought the middle ground. He endorsed Maine’s claim to the territory
and at the same time assured Fox of his desire to avoid hostilities. But Maine’s state militia ignored Van Buren’s
call to disband while the two nations worked out a plan for resolving the
dispute. General Scott was sent to Maine
and won the grudging agreement of state leaders to a plan of withdrawal of
American and British forces from the contested territory. An uneasy peace was restored.
What a different America we live in today! Do you believe Obama would embrace our
southern states with warmth and earnestness and a true American feeling? Yea didn’t think so.
Obama is in campaign mode.If you thought the truth was as foreign as his father, than you haven’t heard the latest spittle that has stained the teleprompter.Speaking before a constituency that votes well over 60% Democratic, the anointed one demonized Republicans for not granting amnesty to those poor unfortunates who were brought into the United States against their will.
Obama said with a straight face, that the border is safe and secure. The whole premise for “comprehensive immigration reform” is based on that simple declaration; once politicians have made that determination they will grant citizenship to all of those American lovers who fly Mexican flags and display LaRaza bumper stickers on their cars.
And how did the Anointed One come to this conclusion? Here’s border security according to Obama:
64% more weapons seized
Apprehensions of illegals cut 40% from 2 years ago
31% more drugs seized
Southern border cities safest in nation
Now let’s take a look at some of these claims, starting with the weapons seizure. The DOJ has been accused of selling guns to drug lords. Here is an excerpt from a Washington Times editorial:
DOJ claims information on law-abiding gun owners might help prevent Mexican drug cartels from obtaining American weapons. At the same time, DOJ and ATF are actively resisting a subpoena from a congressional committee demanding information regarding the ATF’s own role in promoting actual sales of guns to drug lords. One of these weapons was reportedly used in a December ambush that claimed the life of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. To date, Justice has allowed House Oversight and Government Reform staff to view a handful of redacted papers, but an April 8 letter from DOJ’s legislative affairs office claimed the rest of the material was confidential and wouldn’t be released because it was related to ongoing criminal investigations.
Now for the claim of apprehensions of illegals; the bad U.S. economy should deter anyone from coming here, but apparently there is a quota for allowing illegals to come into the country, not to mention drugs.A Sheriff from Cochise County, Arizona made the following accusation in a House subcommittee hearing:
“There are policies in place that establish thresholds for quantities of drugs and numbers of illegal aliens before consideration for prosecution can be entertained,” Dever said in his written testimony before the Subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security. “In at least one Federal District in Texas, if you are caught smuggling less than 750 kilos (1,653 pounds) of marijuana, you will not be subjected to prosecution.”
“If you are caught smuggling fewer than 6 illegal aliens, you will not be subject to prosecution,” Dever said. “And if you are a lone illegal border crosser, you get at least seven chances before you are even charged with a misdemeanor.”
And if the border cities are safe, than why are these signs posted:
I was driving down I-77 yesterday, and something curious struck me.To the left of me, to right of me, and in front of me I noticed that I was the only American amongst these travelers. And Obama says are borders are secure.
