Rep. Barney Frank Wants to Abolish Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

Barney Frank now says that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have outlived their usefulness and should now be abolished. Mr. Frank was a huge advocate of these two G.S.E.'s. In 2005, the Republicans tried to pass a bill that would regulate these agencies; Barney Frank stood in their way.

Back in September of 2003 Frank told the NY Times “These two entities – Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – are not facing any kind of financial crisis. The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”

Now Barney Frank is trying to exculpate his crimes by distancing himself from these two toxic agencies, even to the point of lying about his position on affordable housing:

What a lying son of a bitch.

Roger Clemens is being prosecuted for lying to Congress about his use of steroids. Why can't we prosecute Barney Frank for lying to the American people? His crimes are more devastating to the country than a juiced up ball player.
