If you like your government health insurance, you
can keep it. My question is who in the hell
likes it? Apparently, not many North
Carolinians are satisfied with the quality of Obamacare, nearly one in five policyholders
dropped their coverage within a few months.
We must keep in mind that 92% qualify for a federal subsidy.
Bad news just keeps rolling in. Blue Cross and Blue Shield just announced a
rate increase for ACA policyholders. The
Triangle Business Journal reported the following:
Blue Cross and
Blue Shield of North Carolina requested a 25.7 percent increase to
premium rates it charges customers who buy Affordable Care Act health insurance
plans from Blue Cross.
That means a 40-year-old man in Raleigh who holds a Blue Value
Silver plan with a $2,500 deductible would see premiums increase from $315 to
$391. This is only a rate request and would apply to plans purchased in 2016;
the N.C. Department of Insurance must approve the request before Blue Cross may
charge that premium.
Again, these policies are subsidized
by the federal government. That is a
hefty bill the taxpayers are going to have to eat. What a scam.
