Charlotte Observer Applauds Connecticut Gun Law Stupidity

The non-thinkers at the Charlotte Observer are at it again.  The editors at this touchy-feely paper are applauding so-called “sensible gun laws” that Connecticut legislators are supposed to pass.  Here is an excerpt from that liberal rag:
Imagine Republicans and Democrats coming together on a sensible set of tougher gun laws. Impossible, right?

Except that it is happening in Connecticut, even as similar talks in Washington are in danger of falling apart. Congress needs to grow some spine and learn from the example legislators in Hartford are setting.
Today, both parties there are expected to collaborate on passing the nation’s broadest response yet to the Dec. 14 massacre of 20 children and six adults in Newtown, Ct. The bill requires universal background checks on all gun sales and forces those convicted of weapons offenses to register with the state. It would ban more so-called assault weapons than the state already does, and would require state-issued certificates for the purchase of any rifle, shotgun or ammunition.

Wait til the NRA hears about this.

I ask would any of the above proposals have stopped the Newtown massacre?  Of course not!  But that’s not the objective with the libtards at this paper, or the pandering politicians in Connecticut.  But hey, at least somebody is doing something, right?
Connecticut already has some of the toughest gun laws in the country, and yet they weren’t able to stop Adam Lanza.  Chicago is the murder capital of the country, and their gun control laws are more onerous than Connecticut.  Rahm Emanuel has been given the moniker:  Murder Mayor.

It’s all about feelings with these people.  And when the next massacre happens, they’ll demand outright confiscation.  All the while, the true reasons for the decline of our society can be traced back to 60 years of progressive policies.  But you can’t reason with stupid people.
