Progressives have been on a mission to run our lives for well over a hundred years. Their governing philosophy started out as centralized, blunt and forceful. Now, it’s centralized and paternalistic: Big Daddy government will take away our rights and privileges if we don’t do what they say.
Gone are the days of prohibition and Eugenics. Our wannabe masters learned that overt power
is distasteful to the masses. No, they’ve
learned how to be discreet by using taxpayer dollars to fund organizations like
Planned Parenthood and various government bureaucracies that can “nudge” the populace
into thinking and acting as they want us to.
Men like Cass Sunstein and Michael Bloomberg love
using regulations to coerce and moderate behavior. They see themselves as our betters; an elite
class sitting on Mt. Government monitoring our lives as though they’re Grecian
demigods intervening on behalf of mankind.
If only we would give them offerings to appease their wrath.
Progressives are not content with nudging us into
behavior modification, they want us to think and act like they do. I don’t know how many times I’ve read
editorials and op-eds in my local paper on how republicans should become more
like Democrats. Libtards like Thomas
Friedman ink out column after column on what’s wrong with the GOP and how we
should become more acceptable to enlightened people such as Thomas Friedman:
But it does matter. I know so many
thoughtful conservatives who know it matters. One of them has got to start the
N.R.P. — New Republican Party — a center-right party liberated from all the
Trump birthers, the Sarah Palins, the Grover Norquists, the Sean Hannitys, the
Rush Limbaughs, the gun lobby, the oil lobby and every other narrow-interest
group, a party that redefines a principled conservatism. Raise your money for
it on the internet. If Bernie Sanders can, you can.
This is such a pivotal moment; the world we shaped after W.W. II
is going wobbly. This is a time for America to be at its best, defending its
best values, which are now under assault in so many places — pluralism,
immigration, democracy, trade, the rule of law and the virtue of open societies.
Trump will never be a credible messenger, or a messenger at all, for those
values. A New Republican Party can be.
If you build it, they will come
Geez, we could say the same thing about the
Democratic Party, but we don’t tell them how to think or act. I’ve yet to read one column on how the
Democratic Party should become more like conservatives. It just doesn’t happen.
Hell, these people aren’t content on dictating policies
or how big our sodas should be, they want republicans to abandon their
presidential nominee. Barack Hussein
Obama, just the other day, declared the Republican Party should dump Trump.
OBAMA: I think the
Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president. I said so last week. He
keeps on proving it. The notion that he would attack a Gold Star family, that
[General] Hayden -- had made such extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of our
country, the fact that he does not appear to have basic knowledge around
critical issues in Europe, the Middle East, in Asia.
It means that he is woefully unprepared. This is not just my opinion. What have been interesting have been the repeated denunciations of his statements by leading Republicans. Including the Speaker of the House, the Senate Majority Leader, prominent Republicans like John McCain.
The question they have to ask themselves is if you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him? What does this say about your party, that this is your standard bearer?
Conservatives
declared Obama was unfit and unqualified to serve as president, and have been
proven right. But did we intimate democrats should dump their nominee? The answer is no.
Hillary Clinton is
a perfect example of an unfit person who shouldn't hold the office of president of the
United States. She has flagrantly
flouted the law and repeatedly lied to the American people. Her transgressions include violating the
Espionage Act and circumventing FOIA by using a personal server to conduct
State business. I’ve yet to hear or read
an op-ed by any republican demanding democrats dump their nominee.
Americans had better wake up to the fact that
progressives are totalitarian in mind and body.
Eventually they’ll do more than just nudge us into their dystopia.
